Thank you so much Louise, I’ve just ordered my jdiction uv lamp and wasn’t sure which uv resin to use.. now I am, thank you for taking the time to explain this to everyone.
Thank you for your comparison, it helps a lot to understand what to use where. I just have to say, I love your videos so much, your content is superb, and your voice is so relaxing and soothing! 💜💜💜
This was very helpful, thank you! I couldn't find information online to explain how the original "hard type" differs from the high/low viscosity types, but you've answered my question beautifully.
I had originally been using some of the original resin I had bought ages ago, so when I started to run low & went to order more I wasn't sure which I needed to order. Amazon had kept trying to sell me the high viscosity formula but it It looks like the new formula w lower viscosity is what I need! (I'm making tiny detailed nail charms). Thank you for this video, you explained everything perfectly ♡
Great tutorial, thank you so much. You have given me all the information I was after. I have only recently started to use JDiction and can't believe how good it is. ❤
They have a New Formula UV?!? Way cool! I have asthma, so I always leave the room when curing any UV resin. Thank you for the heads up, Lou! 😊👍 I have their classic and high viscosity, and never use any other brand, now. It's THE brand to use for UV, imo! Their 2 part epoxy is also some of the best I've ever used. 👍💕 Thanks for the comparison/demo video, Louise!
Thank you so much for this Louise. Before this video, I had no idea of the differences in UV resin. This info is much, much appreciated. Hope you have a fantastic day!!
I just got a pack of the new formula the other day, and this morning I was wondering what was so different about it from the others and that's how I found you. LOVE your demonstration and now I know what and how to use each in the future. Thanks so much! Your glitter heart was my favorite piece! Which glitter mix do you use?
Hi Louise, I always love the intro on the start of your video with beautiful little honey ❤️ Thank you for sharing a really very helpful video very much appreciated ❤️👍
Wow i enjoyed this video a lot. Thank you explaining each one. Now it makes sense. Do you know if jdicition has a resin for color molds? If so will you share information or do you have a video on this subject? Thanks again
I recently tested J Dictions low-viscosity UV resin up against their classic UV resin, honestly I was a little disappointed as the viscosity between the two did NOT seem to be much different... I actually had a harder time with the lower viscosity holding Bubbles and not degassing more than I did with the original resin. Beyond that I added a sample of their low viscosity resin to my yellowing test pieces and found that the piece had yellowed significantly in just 30 days... something I didn't experience as much with their classic formula or with the current Brand I exclusively use... Let's resin UV resin and limjno. I have yellowing test pieces from these two brands that are 8 months old that sit in a open window with direct light for 4 hours a day that are still crystal clear, the J diction is among the yellowest pieces and is the youngest of all the subjects! I am now curious to see if the eco-tourism holds up to this yellowing test as well but I have not tried it yet, has anyone tried the new Eco formula up against yellowing?
Hi Lainy, no I haven’t tried it yet. I don’t know if I am just stubborn but when something is on trend I try to avoid doing it, even though it looks very tempting. I know that must sound really silly, I just never was one for following the crowd.
Thank you very much for this great demo. I am new to JDiction UV resin and I love it but unfortunately not all different kinds of JDictions resins are available in Australia. 😢
thanks for the analysis. this is the brand that I ended up going with when i got into resin and the smell is why I am not getting to enjoy the hobby as much as I would like. I'll have to try out the new one.
Thank you for watching my videos and leaving such lovely comments. I find it difficult when I give feedback on the smell of a resin because I can never be sure if other people have a better sense of smell than me but I definitely couldn’t smell it, I hope you find it to be the same.
I love your information video! I paint rocks and UV cure them, but what is the best wattage of UV light is the best to use on rocks? I’ve heard 36 watts, but why wouldn’t a higher wattage work? Will it burn the resin?
Hello. I am an iris photographer. I bought JDiction UV resin so that I could deliver my products to my customers quickly (maximum 30 minutes). However, the color of the photo changes within 1-2 weeks. What should I do to prevent this? Thank you in advance for your answer
I have been searching for days to find who had the peacock mold in a video I watched. I bought this one and used it once. It took me 2 hours to clean, soaking it, scrubbing with a little brush, repeat. Do you have a tip on that? Almost all the mica stuck in the cavities. Thanks. Love your videos.
I seem to remember that happened with mine too. You could try filling it with some clear resin and see if it pulls the colour out at demould time. If it doesn’t I guess it isn’t causing a problem to future castings.
Hi Rebecca, I got it from Craspire. I think this is the same one www.craspire.com/products/resin-silicone-molds-diy-sc0013-01?_pos=34&_sid=6062a3b64&_ss=r
Thanks for the video 👍🏼 one question, I'm using the new formula version for my small polymer clay sculpts. Its always quite tacky once hardened. Its driving me crazy. I've tried a lot of "tips and tricks" on how to make it not tacky afterwards like wipe it with rubbing alcohol (it removed the coating!) 😅 I have not had any luck. Do you have any recommendations?
Hi. I've been using regular resin for crafts. i'm new to this JDiction stuff. It looks as if there is no 2 part mixing at all, just one bottle? How does that work?
Hi Louise, would you know anywhere in Ireland I could get the JDiection uv resin. I think it's on amazon but we have to pay custom charges which makes it more expensive. I'm a total beginner and have never one anything yet only buy molds. Thanks again Niall
Thank you for thie explanation Louise, I am new to resin. If you were covering a clay pin badge would you suggest the high viscosity or the new formula? I would like to dome, but having asthma the new formula appeals, along with being more environmentally friendly & a shorter curing time. Could you dome with the new formula?
Hi Rachel. The high viscosity would dome better but the new formula would still work nicely as a top coat. If you are going to try to dome with it be quite generous and have your light handy so you can quickly hold it over your item before the resin can run over the edges x
I just recently started using JDiction. I was blown away when I saw how quickly it cured under UV light and was excited about the turn around time to complete my jewelry pieces until I noticed how easily it scratched. I compared it to the other resin I was using before. No scratching with the other resin. Has anyone else noticed this.
I've noticed it too especially with a hardness of only 80D. I tested Jdiction up against let's resin. They are very similar but let's resin is slightly harder and their newest formula is rated at 90D. I also recently tested out J dictions low viscosity resin looking for a thin resin as the one I was using I was having trouble with it taking my transparent pigments. I found that the low viscosity J diction UV resin did not seem to be any thinner than their original formula, SM side-by-side the viscosity seemed nearly identical but it seemed to hold bubbles more that their original formula... I was highly disappointed... It also did not hold up well in my yellowing test and turned pretty yellow after only 30 days at my window... I have a Galaxy ball that I made in November of last year hanging on my rearview mirror and it is still Crystal Clear.. Made with let's resin UV resin. I personally think j diction UV resin is a bit overrated and overpriced considering I have test about 6 different brands. Let's resin if my go to UV resin
@@sharadawilliams6394 you should, I don't think you would unsatisfied. It is definitely on par with Jdiction it doesn't yellow as quickly in my testing. The product itself also seems to be more consistent.
I thought I had all 4 of your UV resins however I don't have the one that says " High Viscosity." I have, Low Viscosity, New Formula, Eco and the original UV Resin. Is one of these the one you're referring to on the video and it's just in a different bottle? Please advise. 🙂
Hi Louise, Total beginner here, so this helped me a lot! Love the glitter heart! Can you tell me where you got your heart mold? Would love to know! Thanks again for this info video!

I have a small project and need literally a few drops of resin. I'd love to try their HV, but JDickshun will only sell THREE bottles of what I need. With the shelf life of UV resin being so low, I'm throwing away practically all that I buy. I don't need three bottles. I don't even need a full one! I'm not paying $25 for a few drops of resin. I went with a more reasonable manufacturer.
