    I have recently found your channel. "Sylvester's customs" channel talked about you and your linear blocks. I've watched a ton of auto paint videos and you both imo are heads and shoulders above the rest. Love your attention to detail and logical approach. I'm definitely following both of you guys and following very carefully. Starting with vp 2050. Blocks are on the way and when I start shooting my paint videos I will be talking a lot about the tips I've found here. Thanks for making these videos I know they can take some time. All the best Cheers John.

    Thanks for your content. You are really helping me. As a total novice, I've always wanted to get laser flat finishes. Even just on test panels and spare hoods i can get off ebay, as I find it enjoyable regardless of whether its a full car or not. I quite joyfully play about with random panels and just go to town on them seeing what I can achieve as I'm limited on space and can't even paint myself (yet) so I mostly mess about taking factory painted finishes to their limit. I just love trying to get mirror finishes in any scenario. But I could never get totally flat, waveless finishes and it frustrated me so I took a long break. Thanks to you and Sylvester's customs I'm finally getting the knowledge i needed 5 years ago but couldn't find at the time, anywhere on RUclips. It was even more difficult because in the U.K, our 'car culture' when it comes to this stuff isn't quite as big. It's a much smaller niche area. Will definitely be picking up some of your blocks soon. I've also got the motivation back to set up a small bit of gear in my shed to learn painting myself so this knowledge will help me get it right from the beginning! I love the simplicity of using one product from start to finish vs. overcomplication with different primers for different stages etc.

    Can you make a video on how to properly weigh filler and paint?

    I just found your channel and subscribed a couple days ago. I ordered the full set of spreaders and will get the full set of blocks next. Look forward to using blocks that will actually work like they are supposed to. Love your work! Best I have seen in my decades of cars. I plan on using the primer you suggest throughout. Makes a lot of sense. Would you recommend the Vibrance clear over PPG 2021? Do you use a sealer before paint or stick with the 2025 through paint? I’m doing a 69 Camaro in its original color of Lime Frost Green with matching green interior. Thanks so much!

    Great that you use the same product throughout. After final blocking and primer, do you use a sealer? If so, is that the VP2050 thinned or different sealer?

    Hey, sorry late comment here but was wondering if you would have the time to mention the materials you use? Fillers, glazes, etc? Thanks!

    Hi Colton, so do you use a true epoxy like dp90 as a first coat? Or vp2050 on the bare steel? I'm a polyester user but going to try vp on my next job. Thanks for sharing knowledge.

    You've mentioned using one product (VP2050) throughout in several of your videos and your reasoning for it seems very solid. What is the red oxide looking primer poking through here? Is it something different because of the aluminum substrate?

      The red was sprayed on the doors and boot to duplicate the factory process so the owner has pics of the car with red doors and trunk lid

      Trying to sell your product in a comment like this is spam. Might not seem like it to you, but it is spam. Not a good look for a "marketing" company.

    So since the epoxy you are using is sandable are you saying that you use that same epoxy for even your final prime and block?

      Is the epoxy in the hardener or is it fully epoxy. I am using Tamco 5310 dtm with there epoxy under it love this stuff they say it has epoxy properties which i think means it`s in the activator. Still learning here. Great job glad i found this channel.

      @@Supanova70 have you watched the shrink test videos? We test hp5310, 5310 is a urethane and in my opinion not a tru DTM primer. 2050 is a tru epoxy in a high build version.

    I'm new to painting and my project is a 1970 GTO. The car is in bare steel with minimal Upol D (aluminum based) filler in a few places. Would you recommend that I use VP2050 over bare steel and the aluminum filler and through to final blocking?

    • @linearblockingtools4064
      @linearblockingtools4064  2 года назад

      I wouldn’t recommend using the aluminum filler, could cross contaminate the steel. Steel and aluminum together can be big problems.
