Yeah... in a series where it's not about high stakes like a normal Gundam series usually has. I mean I don't think it's wrong to have at least ONE Gundam series where the only stake you have is just losing a $30 HG kit in an official tournament battle. If you want to say "But that doesn't make it a Gundam series" then that's fine. Different strokes for different folks, after all.
I don't think the message is against the use of tactics and strategies but rather the attitude of the brothers, clearly they were getting the wrong idea about the competition, just look at their statements; I believe the idea was to remind them that this was a tournament and not a holy war or something like that.

there are many ways to make an MS "super" or "berserker," to unleash its potential. Trans-AM is just one of many systems. the fact everyone anticipated it, left them blind and vulnerable to those that used other systems.

Im surprised the twins got such a bad rap amongst the other characters in the series'? I mean the lead duo were happy to let off the idol character who was also cheating (out of game no less) because they liked how "serious" she was. They gave one of the best fights in the entire series, so youd think at the very least theyd receive some sort of respect.
