    This game was one of the many reasons why the Red Sox were so special:
    They had blown the lead twice the previous night, then won in the bottom of the ninth on a walk-off throwing error, and then had this the next night. More amazingly, they became the first team in MLB history to go 12 official at-bats (a sac bunt and a walk aren't officially counted) with a hit in the same inning.

    What's even more amazing what that they didn't hit a single home run in the inning. They made contact, and slowly, ruthlessly drove the Marlins into the ground. That's a reason why I think the Red Sox won this year - they had amazing balance on offense. Sure, they could hit homers, but they could also work at-bats, draw walks, do the little things. The Yankees had power, but not enough average, which can still go a long way in the game. The late '90s Yankees teams were like that, and that's a reason why they won - they had great balance. And that's also why I think the Orioles were so terrible this year - they were a completely one-dimensional team. It felt like they either hit homers or did nothing.

    The marlins were such a disaster with Reyes that they got rid of him in the first year of a 5 year contract The bluejays were under 500 with Reyes, but made it to the ALCS the following two years after they got rid of him Reyes was the reason for the historic collapses of 2007 and 2008 hit under 200 during both collapses he made the team lack focus and urgency . Rockies got 16 games worse after Reyes showed up . 2017 mets were supposed to be World Series contenders instead finish 22 games under 500 with Reyes . 2018 mets once again significantly underachieving Jose Reyes is by far the worst thing to ever happen to the Mets he has been destroying teams for decades Reyes is the rare athlete that infects guys around him his laughing and overall personality doesn’t allow guys to have the right mindset to perform at their highest capabilities which is why it’s been 2 decades of the same underachieving result.

      No Name So you simply see "Boston fans/announcers" and just rush in to blindly say "terrible" like a drone with no free will or thinking?
      O'Brien is terrific, Remy and Castiglione may as well be legendary. Then you have Eckersley, Lyons, Wakefield, Rice. No one hates these guys...You don't listen.
      I was referring more to the Red Sox announcers, hence the video, but Edwards/Brickley are above average when compared to the rest of the NHL, which explains why you can't name any other team's announcers that are better, except perhaps your own.

    • @dillonbija9592
      @dillonbija9592 6 лет назад

      "Above average when compared with the rest of the league" no, not really. Obviously people are predisposed into liking their own teams commentators, however simply looking at comments on nesn Bruins videos its glaringly obvious people seem to agree that (Edwards especially) are garbage.
