    The Red Sox smart and strategical baserunning and the fact that the Red Sox lead the league in stolen bases is really not being appreciated or even acknowledged really. Sox are 5th in MLB in home runs, they have the best defensive outfield in the game, and the best batting averages. The Red Sox are just very solid and dominant in almost every aspect of the game, and that's the difference.

    • @ryanahern1210

      And the lack of Big Papi or coaching isnt a problem this year. Coaching isnt holding back this lineup, an even stronger lineup than last year.

    • @Dreamline78
      @Dreamline78 6 лет назад

      The bullpen is still the team's big weakness, and it's one that Dombrowski did not address at the trade deadline. And for all their timely steals and aggressive baserunning, they've still run into more outs than any other team in the majors. That 8-run rally in the 4th inning of Game 1 all started on a bad mistake by Bradley Jr. that happened to work out because Holder forgot (or was never taught) how to actually get someone out when you have them caught in a rundown.

    • @DemocratPartyOfHate
      @DemocratPartyOfHate 6 лет назад

      Dreamline78 I agree that the bullpen is the Red Sox main and possibly only flaw, I was disappointed that they didn’t get that reliever at the deadline, and last night even we saw Kimbrel, Thornburg, and others be shaky against the Jays but thankfully our offense bailed them out in the extra inning win. As for our base runners running into outs: to this point we have scored a good bit more runs than anyone in baseball so I think the gambling has certainly payed off more than not. And yes the rally started on a Yankee miscue but then the Red Sox capitalized on it, which they’ve been doing all year.

      That's Yankee 'fans.' Those of us real fans know the Red Sox are simply the better team right now. I get no joy from saying that, in fact it annoys me beyond belief to type that. But I'm 35 and I try to be as real as possible in all aspects of life. How anybody with even a slight knowledge of baseball could right now try to pretend the Yankees, or any team, is in the same class as the Red Sox is beyond me. We'll see what happens in October, but the Red Sox have the most balanced team. It's just facts.

      We had been getting schooled, demolished and roundly humiliated three games in a row. Then clawed, tooth and nail up the side of the canyon in a feat that had never been accomplished to take the last four. It was the most harrowing week in the history of Boston sports. I was 20 at the time and even MY heart almost couldn’t handle it. I don’t give a fuck what happens now or 50 years from now. Nothing will ever come close to the drama that was the 2004 alcs.

    Sale on the DL, Vazquez on the DL, Swihart on the DL, Erod on the DL, Kinsler on the DL, Devers on the DL, Pedroia out for the season, Smith out for the season and the Sox still swept the series!

    This is why Sandy Leon is still our catcher. He wouldn't have let that ball go by and put the winning run on 2nd base.

    • @rmelin13231
      @rmelin13231 4 года назад +2

      He is awful in the booth. Does not belong there. Can't construct a proper sentence, mispronounces names, and is generally wrong in his predictions. Why he even has a job as a broadcaster is beyond me. He cheated as a player (not only PEDs, but remember the child-like slap of the ball from Arroyo in the 2004 ALCS? Oops, you mean they caught that on camera?). And I strongly believe that if you took his former teammates aside, away from a camera or microphone, and asked them to be honest, they would each and every one say that he was not a team player. No, I can't prove it, and I doubt it would ever happen. Players union and all that.
