Take your time with the clips on the battery. Remove the cross bar and bracket attached to the cross bar. Remove the battery hold down. Those are the four bolts. You now have enough room to push the electrical box aside. You need to unclip one wire at the holder on the fire wall. The most important part is you MUST rotate the battery 90 degrees so the terminals are pointing at the wheel well before you attempt to remove the battery. If you try to remove with the terminals up...forgetaboutit. I just did it all today. Take your time.
To make it easier to remove and replace the battery (if the battery has no handle) use a ratchet strap rigged around the center of the battery once it is disconnected from the holder tray. Circle the battery with the strap and tighten it. This will give you something to hold onto to take the battery in/out.
I just did mine yesterday, I didn't remove the coolant bottle but it was a headache. I'm just wondering about the posts on that box cover and if they are configured/wired based on the specific battery?
My wife’s 2018 suburban had to have a new battery at 26,000 miles, dealer replaced it under warranty. Seems weird to have a bad battery on a 2 year old vehicle.
LOL he said this is a 15-minute job. 15 minutes to unscrew the bolts and screw the bolts back in. Took me a half hour just to get the freaking battery out. GM has the battery wedged so tight in there
