At an initial glance, the battery in a vehicle equipped with “Start/Stop” functionality may look the same as any other. And you might think that servicing or replacing them is done the same way you’ve always done it.
    You’d be wrong.

I have a 2021 Toyota Highlander at first I replaced the battery thinking it was the problem, in less than a year stop/start has failed me again left me without power in traffic lights my mechanic test the battery it’s still good so now I drive without activate the stop start feature. I installed a start/stop eliminator module in both of my vehicles. I was at a light with a dead engine because the start/stop system wasn’t working. It took six starts to get going and ordered the elimination module the next day.
Tip: If your car has a 120v outlet, try using a nightlight. In certain vehicles this will disable the start/stop.

Remember one other item. That Autel memory saver is using pin 16 of the DLC. That is a "fused" 12 volt terminal. What is the condition of that fuse? Some vehicles use that fuse to power up "power points" also called cigarette lighters. Plug in to the power point something that blows out that fuse and your memory saver won't work. There goes all the modules memories and here comes the headaches! Be certain pin 16 is working before plugging in the memory saver and disconnecting the battery.

Save time and just replace a battery with the same size with the same specs. Start/stop vehicle's might have a larger spec battery, but if so, again just replace with what was on the vehicle. It's really a no brainer.

It can, you may be able to find where to connect one in the owners manual. You basically want to connect it where the current sensors detect power going into the battery.

Hi, my vehicle has a EFB battery, I know it is possible to upgrade it with a AGM type. You suggest on the video it's not always better to use a more powerful battery, especially with today's cars with much electronics and stop and start system as well.

Sometimes the stop/start feature will be disabled by the car for example, the temperature outside is to cold. Or the air con is running hard with other power drawing devices like radios and headlights etc. A battery has the largest power draw at start up so if other things are running it would put a considerable strain on the battery to continue using the start/stop feature.

Hello, about the start-stop function, if you want to DIY the settings, you need related high-end equipment. I recommend the Phoenix Plus from Topdon to you, because I am also using this product to perform the start-stop function. Some problems, the experience is not bad.
This is a video of me using Plus to activate the start-stop function for the 2017 Audi A4L: ruclips.net/video/FgmuvcvAAcc/видео.html , share it with you here, you can refer to it. If you are interested, you can click to take a look, or give me your opinion.

Suppose 100 vehicle stopped at a red signal switch off engine for one minute, how much carbon emission could be cutted down with no human effort. There is always a bright side of each technology..
