Mobile Mechanic Screws Up Simple Brake Job

- Hey Good People,
I always educate my peeps to BEWARE who you let work on your car! I respect the mobile mechanic profession, because that's how I started out. I took pride in my work the same as I do now. Unfortunately, not all mechanics and or mobile mechanics can say the same. This should have been a simple brake job, but the customer brought the vehicle to me to repair the shoddy work the mobile mechanic she hired did. Beware people. Whoever you choose to work on your vehicle, wether it be a shop or mobile mechanic, do your research on them first!

Speaking of wheels falling off , true story : A mechanic I used to work with did a brake job on a female customers car and this jacka$$ was so high on coke he completed the job but didn't put the lug nuts on tight enough so as she drove down Main Street her tire flew off the bearing ... She was so pissed she came back to the parking lot with a dude with a gun to find him ! But he left before they arrived .. Simple mistakes can hurt or kill
Dam that is crazy
If your a mechanic and you have never worked on a certain brand of car do some research on the work your about to perform. It will save you a lot of guessing.
I agree. If you are going to experiment do it with your own vehicle
Brake hardware is important to keep the brake pads secure and to reduce vibration, which can cause brake noise. Chamfering the edges of the brake pad also helps to reduce brake noise.
And always replace the bleeder screw as it keeps moister and dirt out. Not putting the bleeder cap back on will most likely cause it to break off when trying to loosen it for the next brake job.
This is exactly why I work on my own vehicle. Wow! Great video, thanks.
I just had a job similar too that. Liked and subscribed
Thanks for the support
If the mobile mechanic isn't ase certified, most likely you're taking a chance. But even having an ase doesn't mean you have field experience. Be careful who you let work on your car
Great video and public service video.. wow I can’t believe whomever the mechanic was that did that job .. left that rear left caliper like that.. he must have gotten distracted or something and then just finished the job.. but glad you solved this for the owner.. you very likely might have saved lives.. you’re new shop is looking great 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks buddy I’m trying my newborn baby keeps up at knight so I’m very tired this days
When it comes to brakes getting distracted is not an option and if getting distracted that is not an excuse. That is why I always do the brakes on both of my vehicles.
Thank you share clip
So basically the idiot mobile mechanic RUSHED this brake job so he could take her money and move on to his next job. This was also dangerous having her drive on faulty breaks . if you do a job, do it right !! And if that mechanic saw those warped rotors he should have told her to get new rotors so both breaks and rotors could be replaced at the same time .
I'm glad to see bizzy bone changed his life for the better
😂😂😂😂😂
I met him(Alex) in person and he seems to have a light sense of humor . BB Gambini is a mechanic now 🤣🤣
Do your own brakes people! Do it right
Or just pay someone to do it right
be surprised at the # of times Ive had to fix the mistakes of a "professional" mechanic...
Every body has bad days but this was no excuse he had to know that the sliding pins were seized up he should’ve let the customer know or told them to replace the whole caliper bracket and caliper
The piston is not clocked
I would suspect the owner, and the shape of the car, the owner was cheep or can’t afford to fix it! I am sure they will pay up now! Or it will not get fixed.
They had a problem with the price, I told them I’m going to do it right or not at all
@@AlexTheCarDoctor I can just hear it now just put it back together! Good luck
@@TheBeer4me they paid I had to over explain though
Wow that's pretty bad
