Why I’m NOT a mobile mechanic Anymore (But Now Getting Forced Out of My Shop)

- Hey Good People,
Since I'm getting more and more subscribers these days, I thought I'd give a little bit of my background to let you guys know how I got to where I am today.
I have worked for several shops around the city of Atlanta, but I got most of my knowledge from being a mobile mechanic for several years. I's a pretty good gig, but I grew tired of it and decided to get my own shop! Now, I'm kinda being kicked out of my shop in a sense. Business is booming, but my shop is too small, which forces me to work outside the shop in the heat to get things done. I don't like working outside, which is why I got the shop in the first place lol.
I hope you guys enjoy the video. See you in the next one.

When I first watched your channel I thought you were faking the nice guy approach. But it’s obvious you really are a nice guy. Congrats on your expansion , I pray you find success in all your work.
Thank you so much! I try to treat people how I want to be treated. I believe you will get back what you give out. It’s easy to be kind. Thanks for watching!
Hell yea he is a nice person I can tell his words are great especially to the lady’s I know my older sister likes this guy
I'm not sure anyone has mentioned this but I enjoy the fact that your wife is helping you with your camera work. Most spouses prefer not to get involved, the ones that prosper have spouses that engage or even help and I feel that is why they work out better on youtube. It is a rarity.
Thanks for the feedback brother
First and for most, thank you for sharing your content and CONGRATS on moving up in this mad world. I am also a mobile mechanic going through the growing pains of A LOT OF WORK, also taking consideration for a shop but I'm not that savvy. Hope you stay blessed in the next chapter.
Much appreciated! I wish you success as well. Embrace the growing pains! It just makes your better 👨🏽🔧
Such a inspiration. I’m currently in Houston building an amazing clientele as a mobile mechanic and you have definitely been pinned as my mentor/go to in this field. I truly appreciate you for pushing through and can’t forget to give thanks to your other half that clearly supports and helps. Keep going!!
Pay in advance bro, if people don't want to pay at least 50 percent in labor up front they are not a customer worth having. Especially in Atlanta people love to run games and been there has done that. Glad your business continues to prosper sire. Blessings and respect!
Thanks for the feedback and support brother means a lot
Wow definitely an inspiration to me to do like wise my brother, I'm a very busy mobile mechanic with a lot of clients and this traffic and weather has worn me out, im definitely praying for a shop soon!! Blessings to you and your wife business keep it up!
Thanks for the support buddy I will be sending blessings your way to as well,I know what you’re going through. where are you from May I ask
Increase your prices weeds out the cheap o people and cons. Thanks for sharing that story.
It's crazy PayPal didn't work a resolution, con artists exploit it.
You are 100% right, after I increase my labor rates people seem to respect me more it’s crazy it seems when you try to help people for little or nothing you get scraped on. I just leaned that,it’s hard to accept that because I love helping people.
immediately hit the subscribe button because you seem like such an overwhelmingly genuine good person.
your wife and camera lady is the best - she really enjoys the lives too
As an avid DIYer, I love your channel, Alex. You're my kind of teacher. Cheers!
If I were in the ATL I’d give you all my car business even though I generally will do all my own mechanical work on my VWs and Audi’s.. wow nice new shop I’m looking fwd to seeing it fill up with equipment and the lifts.. I agree a mobile mechanic is great in ideal conditions.. I might do it someday.. I like your videos, very honest and truly genuine.. I’ve learned a lot from your stuff .. it’s very well presented and good camera work .. keep up the great work 👍🏻

Should def put the stretcher in there for people that get to RO’s/PO’s that cause a heart attack lol. A sassy receptionist lol jkjkjk. But naw man you’re truly one of the sensei’s. Keep going!!
Another con is parts can't get delivery if your mobile and if the parts wrong or defective you have to run back to the store or to another its crazy id spend all damn day driving! But a pro getting to pick and choose what you want to do and where/when
Glad to hear the good and sad to hear the bad this is my first video I've seen from you I'm going to subscribe

Hey you look great Alex Dallas Texas
Thanks for the love and support
Gotta know the money it takes to open up a shop! Did you finance? Did you lease? Are you renting a spot? Are you paying straight cash? What?! Lol I’m a mobile mechanic myself now because I couldn’t find a shop or bay to rent out for myself. So I purchased a box truck and became a mobile mechanic. But I really want to save up money to open a shop!
I really enjoy seeing you live out your passion. What would a mobile mechanic charge per vehicle just to show up minus whatever the repair needs to be? What's a fair hourly rate as a mobile mechanic
Losing tools its inevitable as a mobile where as at a shop you end up finding half the stuff you misplaced eventually
Love it congratulations. Go to install about for Four car lift congrats again
Hi Alex my name is doc yes I'm a mobile mechanic too I'm from Montgomery Alabama I used to live in Atlanta same thing you're doing I used to do my kids they're grown now they live in Atlanta I like Atlanta but I never work as a mobile mechanic while I was in Atlanta but I think you're going to do great for what I seen in this video you and your wife are going to do just fine so good luck in the future . I can't use the word car Doctor because there are so many guys in this area where I live at you used the same name professionally on their business but I was born with the nickname doc and I always worked on cars because my dad was a mechanic I'm 60 years old now and you're so right on your video so many people will try to rip you off be careful. And get your money up front
Good to meet you Doc! Thanks for your comment! I got burned out as a mobile mechanic and being taken advantage of. But I did enjoy it. 👨🏽🔧
🎉 Congratulations
What type of license (liability protection) would u recommend for mobile mechanics?
I wish you success and forward

Mobile Mechanic in WNY I enjoy it good days and bad day I enjoy the travel eventually I'd like a shop but I'm not there in my career yet.
You sound like me I had to learn a lot before I got here, once you get your shop it will be rewarding
@@AlexTheCarDoctor yeah it take along time. I'm looking to getting into painting cars
@@johnconner3901 that’s a good business. I won’t to get into that but don’t have the patience for it
I started as mobile mechanic .. got covid $ and built a little shop at my house .. the plan was to use the shop for projects and keep doing the mobile thing .. well now I'm stuck in a shop with only 1 bay and need 3 lol
Growth! I love to see it! I wish you much success brother!
Your in Atlanta im in Jonesboro want to be a mechanic were should I start
How did you get your name out there
You cant be nice to these people out here when it comes to business.Set a fee just to show up and by that you will get a better feel as to weather the person is more ample to pay you or not, cash only.
That’s how I run things now
If i have any suspicion that the customer is unable or unwilling to pay my price i will require 1/2 the price up front or i wont touch it
Alex come to Dallas Texas I will hire you I need brakes on my Equinox 2020 I’ll give you cash
No money no car key,, it works
Money first every time or no service.. SORRY... lol
Like dentist office

Real quick ive had 500 dollar days n ive had days where i lose money
I don’t miss them days losing money.
👊🏿👊🏿
capitalism, that's what drives America, good luck
I NEVER EVER BUY the customers parts never fails of they dont like to pay for your service they really dont want to pay for your service and parts
I was the same way I wasn’t responsible for parts because parts failure is a real thing and didn’t wanna come back out for free to redo it.I love having a shop I don’t release the car until it’s paid

Hi, Alex So great help. I love you in a brotherly way. no, it still wouldn't start it turns over . gas is coming out the nozzles I have spark but some of the coils were in the rain. also, I put the compression tester in the spark plug hole. I never use this tool before. when I do it I show no compression after 10 cranks. compression didn't move. but when I bought the car it did have a blown head gasket, and I turned it and it started for a few seconds(10). what could it be .when I crank it no problem sounds smooth. security lights turn off I made a new key $400.00 darn a new batters 200.EKG valve 89.00. I neeyou coud an income, I worked in a shop but nothing major things. I study scanned Danner to learn diag. and I have an Autel Scanneing r MK80-8BT blue tooth.
what could it be. is the guy I called milking me? I just have that feeling. he did a compression check and got about98-100 I did it to #4 drivers side first ho,le towards the front, and got nothing. any ideas. Can you advise me where I could buy another engine reasonable. i already put a lot into the car. please advise thanks bro. Savino in California,Do you happen to have an engine for a 2006 2'7l vin r ? you could sell me please.
Number one thing you should always do mechanic lien and take there car away
When you write the contract for the lien always make sure that it's on there say you will repo the car if no pay this is a good thing to put on contract for the shop to you will never lose
That’s awful. You put hard work into fixing that man vehicle and he doesn’t pay you. Some people disgust me.
And even though I won the court case, he still hasn’t paid to this day and it’s been years lol
You are a good guy Alex. Don’t ever let people change your kindness and generosity.
Doctors office??? I get nervous at the doctor's. Always think it's gonna be bad news. Lol. But I know what you mean. Wanna be professional. Not just a greasy shop office where you feel like you're gonna get scammed. Good luck man. You're gonna do great.
I’m
See evil people take your kindness for weakness. I would never not pay a mechanic, I did brakes, oil cooler, radiator, tire rotations, batterys, water pumps, fuel pumps etc the labor is no joke I have to rest two days, I'm not a mechanic I still pay dealership or mom pop shops. But the right tools make a nightmare job easy for official mechanics, still no reason not to pay for there service. My opinion 🫡

I absolutely agree! Nothing like being out on a job and not having what you need to make the job safe and easier .
