    I’m stopping at 41:44 to thank you both for taking the time to do this video. I have learned more today about power tools than I ever knew. I am 52. At least now when I need my husbands help I can be more detailed and ask him better questions when he is helping me. I have found that he is patient when I ask questions but seeing how these are used saves him the time of explaining it. I hope that makes sense. Great job!!!

    • @BellaRenovare
      @BellaRenovare  2 года назад

      It makes perfect sense, I find that it just takes sometimes a different person to explain things in a way we can understand. I am not a very technical person and so I don't explain things in that way and I think that is helpful. You've got this :)

    • @mariangie1544
      @mariangie1544 2 года назад

      I am going to sound sexist, sorry. But in my job women have more patience and are more supportive when teaching. Maybe I had bad luck. BTW same for me, I am 53 and I am learning soooo much. I wished I had taken a wood working class when in high school instead of home economics which I flunked. I did not like it.

    • @toddylu6869
      @toddylu6869 2 года назад

      @@mariangie1544 I don’t think that is sexist. I think it depends on the subject sometimes and the relationship with the person. My husband did well with my woodworking furniture questions but got very impatient when trying to teach me to shoot a gun…. But that may have been on purpose, now that I look back… LOL.

    I am sure old enough to be your mother, and have been painting furniture on and off for about 40 years. I was trained by a wise and extremely artistic man and he always insisted that I painting in two directions for better coverage and less brush strokes. So far, from the several furniture flippers I have viewed, you have been the only one who I has mentioned this technique. Back in the day, there was no "chank paint" and it was always oil based paint we used on furniture. Actually, I started painting statuary and learned all kinds of painting techniques to create finishes such as marbling, gilding, bronzing, etc.
    I enjoy your channel because you are very skilled.
    Cheers from retired military family in Virginia, USA 🇺🇸

    Ladies your killing it. I wanted to hop in and give tool sourcing ideas. Harbour Freight is incredible! I just bought on a pre black Friday sale a brand new skill saw, blade and a grinder for just under 60.00🤯 My first skill saw was a pawn shop buy for 25.00 and just gifted it to a young family that needed tools. Watch marketplace and any local apps you may have for sale items such as Nextdoor. I just happen to be in the right time and place and git a 1500.00 compressor for 25.00 because the gentleman didn't need it anymore!!🤯💃🥳🤯 Desiree you are going to own your craft I can see it. Hugs to you both!

    Thank you for talking us thro her learning. Wish I had had something like this when I did houses. I always put up a price seemingly intuitively and got it, naysayers to the side who did the same thing but talked my efforts down . Got to know friends - or maybe not- really fast. I am do proud of you both for stepping out which can be uncomfortable unless you say' start valuing your time'. Thank you.

    What an awesome, AWESOME video!!!! First of all, I enjoyed seeing your friends, and I loved seeing that you are such a down-to-earth woman. So many times when I watch these videos, I forget to see that the person is just like me. You started as a novice, you learned from others, you gradually grew in your own knowledge, and now you are helping others who want to follow in your footsteps. You’re not holding back any of your secrets, but are willingly sharing all the good, the bad, and even the ugly. I have found your step-by-step directions to be so helpful, but watching as you physically taught someone else makes me believe that I can do this too (not for profit, but for my own home). Even sitting down with her to work out the financial end of flipping was great. I know that there is always a special bond between military families, and I can definitely feel it in all of you. Thank you so much for sharing this special video with us. It might have been long, but the time flew by as I watched it and I enjoyed every minute. I want to be one of your friends!!!! Yeah... I could actually be your mother. LOL
    Oh, and I loved hearing that you get tired as you work on these things! I’m retired and struggle with my knees, my health, and get exhausted quickly, so it’s good to know you young ones get tired too!!

      Just remember take breaks when you get tired and don't try to do everything in a day, this total project took us 3 days and that was with 2 people helping :)

    Wow! To be able to learn a craft from a craft master themselves is truly invaluable!! As a stay at home mom trying to find a way to bring in income for my family, thank you so much for your insights. Good luck Desiree, and hello from New Mexico!! ❤👋

    Thanks for the tutorial! I’m sure your friend is smart, but I love that you simplified using the saw. Takes the intimidation out of using power tools- esp for me who has not used them much!

    I would say also mimicking other furniture that you see in magazines would also help build a beginners confidence in there furniture flipping business! Anytime I’m decorating and not sure what I wanna do I always hit the magazines for inspiration!

    Wow - gorgeous piece! Love the new base you two built, and what a great colour choice with those handles! I'm new to flipping myself and it was really empowering to see this from beginning to end. I think I'll be asking for a mitre saw for Christmas 🎄 🤔

    Great video. I have learned so much watching you. I refer people to you often, your blending technique is the easiest to follow. Thanks. And good luck to Desiree.
