@@BellaRenovare Beautiful work! May I ask what you would have used if you’d decided to cover the entire piece with a protective topcoat, especially since it’ll be used in a bathroom?
@@annemurphy9339 so it won't actually be in the bathroom it will be right outside of it in the foyer :) IF it were going to be in the bathroom I would use gator hide which is water repelent :)

Wow it's stunning. Using a gloss top coat for the stripes was brilliant. I love how the strips are there but there subtle. And the touch of gold. It's absouly gorgeous. I loved the moonshine metallic colors.

I am swooning over those clear stripes. There's nothing I love more than a black and gold piece, and those stripes added such an interesting element!
Your method seemed to work beautifully! I don't know if this would be useful to you, but in the wood sign crafting world, people will tape a design/apply a decal then put a layer of the background paint underneath (or in your case, you could have applied a coat of the normal clear coat you used on the doors) so that if it seeps under the tape, it doesn't matter because it blends right in! Then you'd do the gloss paint. Might be a handy trick down the line!
so I do know about that! but to keep the finish super smooth I would have had to resend and yada yada lol...but yes I love the clear coat tape trick!! it works awesome 😎

Wow, you 3 are just something else. The 3 of you were perfect for this colab with one another. Your all so talented!! You each have your own style and techniques and are very different but all 3 of you are awesome! It's amazing what you each did with products and colors that someone picked for you for pieces they had no idea you were using. Yours turned out so elegant, it was just gorgeous! I'm not a big fan of black furniture but I loved what you did. Those stripes and the gold took it to the next level, I've never seen stripes done like that with a clear finish coat! You were right about the finish being flawless! That could of been sprayed cause there were absolutely no brush strokes! Thank you so much for sharing your talent and knowledge! I've learned a lot by watching all 3 of you and recently started trying to start selling my pieces. Im refinishing and also building new pieces and love doing both. Nothing is more classy than black and gold. I really like the stripes. Never seen or even thought of using 2 different sealers to create this effect. I'll have to remember this to use on future projects. Thanks for another great video !!
