My father is a furniture maker and he told me there’s a special place in hell for people who paint over wood furniture. Then I showed him your video and he said there’s a special place in heaven for artists who bring out the beauty and breathe life into old forgotten pieces of furniture that otherwise would pile up in a junk yard. You have done an amazing job and transformed this ugly sad chest of drawers into a work of art. Two thumbs up for you from me and my dad. Keep up the excellent work.

I am always a fan of your work. I really see the worn jeans look on this piece and I love it. A hundred million years ago, I was stationed in Thailand and I was fortunate enough to be able to have a tailor make me a pair of jeans with embroidered flowers on them. You have to understand, this was a thing back in the early/mid 70s. This small dresser reminds me of those jeans. Thanks for the memories!

To be honest, I usually disdain people who paint over such gorgeous pieces of wooden furniture. However, your work on this piece has proven to be an exception as you did't merely slap some white paint on like a basic D.I.Y.er in a feeble attempt to be trendy, but actually put time and effort into producing a thing of true beauty! Keep up the great work!

You are so much more thorough and professional than most of these people on RUclips who do furniture renovation using paint. You are right about the tape. My first thought was this chest was moved by a professional movers and they used a tape gun and taped the drawers shut to prevent them opening during the move, possibly a military move.

Love it. If I see a piece of furniture on the curb on trash day, I snatch it, if it looks like it has potential. Last week I got a perfect wood baby bassinette with spindle-like legs. It's grey. Grey! This will be transformed into some neutral color, perhaps a soft pastel yellow with white accents -- or the other way around, with maybe a darker yellow/gold outline of some sort. And I can't WAIT to try what you did in this video. A few years ago I found a dirty "country-style" chair on the curb. I cleaned it up and painted it multi colors of lavenders, blues, greens, with a black outline, and put a coat of polyurethane for shimmer. It's beautiful. I have used those adorable Dollar Tree appliques also. Also, if there's an old beat-up dresser completely trashed, on the curb, I check it out for unique hardware such as knobs, pulls, or even hinges which can be oh so pricey at stores.

The finished piece is very pretty.
I do like old wood furniture, but one has to recognize, that the original style just doesn't fit with most people's taste in interior design anymore...as beautiful as the pieces may be by themselves. Museum pieces aside...if something just wouldn't be used anymore, otherwise, it's better to 'upcycle' it and give it a second life, imo.

This is probably my most favorite piece you've ever done. It's absolutely beautiful. Loved the cross hatching technique you showed us with the block brush. Gave it a blue jeans fabric look which just added one more layer of beauty to it. Thanks for such great instruction and for sharing your creative genius with all of us!

Thank you, Crys. I needed an idea to makeover a 2-door, built-in wardrobe and now I have heaps of ideas in mind. I'd love to use a floral transfer, like magnolia flowers, on the doors and drawers and have a blended background behind it. I've never done anything like this before so have saved this video for reference. I love all of your work and you truly are inspirational!

*It is absolutely perfect for my room **MyseIf.Furniture** It doesn’t take up a lot of space, and looks super nice. It was easy to assemble other than the pieces were not labeled. Super easy and fast assembly Overall, worth the money.*

Beautiful! You've inspired me to paint a old dresser I've inherited from my mom, it was gonna go to goodwill as it was a ugly brown and plain, But I've looked it over and its well made and solid with a veneer top but no peeling or chips. So now I just need to decide which of your techniques I will use, I'm thinking of the blending/ ombre look of the three colors and replace the knobs with some cute porcelain and glass knobs. I think I can do that!
