  • How to make homemade cleaning wipes with just 3 ingredients and half a roll of paper towels. The best DIY Clorox wipes for kitchens, bathrooms, and more.
    ↓↓↓↓↓ NATURAL CLEANING WIPES HOW-TO BELOW ↓↓↓↓↓
    Thieves wipes (or DIY Clorox wipes) are my go to wipes for all purpose cleaning, whether it's a quick cleanup or an everyday mess. We take them camping with us too; they're the perfect addition to both our home and camping kitchen. And they're great for the bathroom too!
    PRINTABLE RECIPE: 🖨️ adventuresofme... 🖨️
    INGREDIENTS:
    1/2 roll paper towels
    1 3/4 cups warm water
    1 ounce Thieves Household Cleaner
    10 drops Tea Tree Oil
    INSTRUCTIONS:
    1. Cut a paper towel roll in half.
    2. Add warm water to a sealable container.
    3. Pour Thieves Household Cleaner into the water.
    4. Then add in the tea tree oil.
    5. Stir the mixture together well.
    6. Drop one half of the paper towel roll, cut side down, into the liquid cleaning mixture, and place the lid on your container.
    7. Make sure all the liquid has soaked up into the paper towels before trying to use the wipes. To do this, I like to turn the container upside down, but this isn't absolutely necessary.
    8. Once your paper towels are fully soaked, remove the cardboard tube, and your homemade, all-purpose wipes are ready to go!

    I loved these, I think I'd make a small batch though, mine started to mold a couple weeks in.

      They can mold quickly due to the moisture in the sealed container. We make enough to last about one week, every week.

    I don't have same household cleaner u do, but I have detol and I will try. I don't have the same plastic container. I however have some wipe containers... so I would also need to slim down the width with the height. I wonder if I need the paper tube, so I can use the removed sheets or add them in as the container starts to empty with use.

    • @MelLockcuff

      That should work. Let me know how it turns out!

      @MelLockcuff I should have added more paper towels. There is a lot of liquid ... or lessen the liquid.... also I thought these Costco version of bounty would pull out easily... they don't... they start to tear as I pull.. I end up taking the lid completley off and pull the roll of paper towels up and gently peal away a sheet. Sometimes I'll peal several sheets so there is some to grab and go when I need in a jiffy. However ... with some doctoring it works.

    My children both had very sensitive skin as babies so i used to make my own baby wipes using some of there special liquid "soap" and water. In Australia you can get rolls of Chux, so I would use those instead of paper towel.

      My older two boys did too, and we made our own baby wipes. I love the idea of biodegradable; I'd like to eventually make reusable wipes too.

    Hi! You can also use wet mop refills and add your own disinfectants to the already wet ones or use the dry ones and add your own mix in a reused container from old wipes. That kind of material holds up far better than paper towels. Also, you can get 15 in a pack at the dollar tree. There is other cloth like wipes of a similar material there and these can be cut to size and used the same way.

      Thanks so much, Melissa! Great tips... I would actually love to make reusable wipes too.

      Mel Lockcuff Hi. The wet mop refills can be used either as reusable wipes or as disposable because of the low price from dollar tree. I reuse mine but if needed, they can be disposed of without too much of a loss. I like to try to reuse as much as possible for the environment and cost cutting. 😀

    Did you use a double roll of paper towels? Where did you get your tub from? I’m having trouble finding one that will fit a double roll of paper towels.

    • @MelLockcuff
      @MelLockcuff  4 года назад

      Caroline, I'm not exactly sure where I got that tub, but you can get tubs just like it at most stores, including Walmart. My recipe uses 1/2 of a roll of paper towels.

    CAN I USE A KITCHEN CLOTH NORMAL TOWEL ALSO INSTEAD OF PAPER WIPES🤔

    • @MelLockcuff
      @MelLockcuff  6 месяцев назад +1

      I would not recommend that. That would be very hard to clean, and perhaps unsanitary. Hope this helps!

      tea tree oil is a good disinfectant, not sure if 10 drops is enough. I imagine another option is to use one disinfectant detergent concentrate, though it'd be less natural.

    Found this very helpful - Thank you so much! I normally use Tea Tree Oil facial wipes, but during COVID19 lock down they have been very challenging to find even online and I have bottles of Tree Tea Oil at home. This is a great recipe and certainly less expensive. Hope you have a very Happy, Healthy New Year!

    Is the tea tree oil just for the scent?

    • @MelLockcuff
      @MelLockcuff  4 года назад

      Kaelene, I use tea tree oil because of certain properties it has, according to my Reference Guide for Essential Oils app.

      Tea tree oil has anti-bac and anti-fungal effects. Careful though, too much can really dry out your skin!

    If you are using good oils they will eat through plastic you should be using glass.

      Thanks for the tip, Patton. I've never had this issue with the wipes, but I could see it being a problem depending on what oil you are using.

    When you use these to claim the toilet, do not toss them in the toilet and flush them down. Toss them in the garbage. You don't want a plugged up sewer line.
