Spent my entire life in central and northern Indiana. I'm DONE with the cold gray skies for weeks on end and snow. Moved to Houston 3 years ago. Haven't looked back! The hot and humid weather can sometimes be annoying, but, you get used to it. There's almost always a breeze off the ocean (sea breeze) in the evening, so it really does take the edge off the sticky summer nights.
Today's December 4. It was 76 and sunny. I rolled down the windows and jammed to some tunes on the commute home. Even opened the sunroof. That ain't happening in Indiana this time of year! :-)

Im from Jersey so I know New York too and the first thing I think everyone notices when they make a change to a city like Houston is how empty the downtown scene is. It really is for the nightlife because going on a weekend it's pretty dead. What a change from walking shoulder to shoulder in Manhattan.

I like dead downtowns. A full downtown is seen as "trendi", but its not alwais best. I dont mind a dead after Five PM downtown since other stuff is around if U look for it. Kinda like Tampa is.

Houston was REALLY nice in the early 90's and 80's..not as much traffic..or crowds..But then again im biased, i was born here!

The freeways were horrendous back in 70’s. Traffic was much worse due to all of the construction and narrow freeways.

It's not great for those of us who are concerned about gun proliferation. Not a hindrance, though.
I moved to Houston from Detroit! It's an adjustment for me! I got sunburn twice! The heat is no joke! Traffic is horrible so I pack my patience. There are so many ethnicities here. It's very diverse. I moved here only for the weather. Just to realize I miss wearing my leather jackets and winter coats. I moved to the Energy Corridor where rent is high. My job pays much less here in Houston and my Health benefits aren't great at all. If you're moving from the north to the south, you will quickly realize your pros and cons. I haven't fully adopted the culture in Texas because I'm still Detroit in so many ways. The work culture is different for me which is a struggle for me. But I've met some really nice people in Houston!

Visited Houston back in April to see some good friends. I fell in love with the city. The biggest things that drew me to it was the culture, the food, and constantly being on the move. Such a huge difference from being in rural Iowa where nothings going on.

Native Houstonian here. You really don't have to worry about the gun laws here. Most people that legally own guns here are legitimate business owners or families that live in lower or lower middle class communities. The business owner will only use the gun in the case of a robbery and the family will only use the gun to protect themselves against home invasions (which we have a lot of in certain communities). Don't go to Sunnyside, or Cashmere Gardens or Acres Holms or DEFINITELY NOT Trinity Gardens. There's a lot of others that are either no go areas or proceed with caution. If you see anyone with a gun in their house in the middle/upper middle class neighborhoods it's more likely to be a shotgun or rifle for hunting. A con about this city is that it's a gateway for illegal shipments. A lot of illegal guns on the street in no go areas.
How about singles with guns? Id imagine so too if thei're in lower middle areas.
Yeah as long as you don’t seem like a narc, it’s pretty easy to get a gun off the streets at a fraction of the cost lol
@@HtxRam I never bought one off the street, but the cost is sure economical and it does not get traced back to u, that I know. the orig gun owner I think gets a citation or 2 for letting it leave his possession. Not sure how it works.

Great video! I lived in Houston for some time. And if I ever the chance I would move there again in a heart beat. Believe it or not the time I lived in Houston the traffic wasn’t even as bad as I thought it would. Definitely better than Dallas Ft. Worth I got stuck in traffic there for 4 HOURS no joke. In Houston I’ve never been stuck for even an hour. Ivied on Washington Ave in some apartments called “The Viridian” off I-10 memorial park was near by lots of great food joints and bars. My favorite part of Houston is probably “City Centre” off I-10 really cool place I love a French place there called “Sweet Paris” hands down best crepes I’ve ever had man I miss it.

I’ve been a Houstonian for 35 years, and finally moved to Katy, TX about 5 years ago. If you can’t stand the heat and humidity, you won’t survive down here. The heat seems to last 11.5 months nowadays. The networking is a plus, aka Hustle Town and the food is phenomenal. Overall, I agree with most of your comments and as far as gun laws, guns can be accessed anywhere in America. I have a CHL (Concealed Handgun License) myself because let’s face it, evil never sleeps. But don’t fear guns, but do respect them. After all guns don’t kill people, people kill people. We must be properly educated in that area. Awesome video bro, thanks for sharing. It's true, Los Angeles does have the most shady disloyal people who won't hesitate to try to take from you as soon as you turn your back. I've been living in the LA/OC area my entire life but I am really hoping to explore Houston and possibly make it my forever home. Thank you for your perspective.

I'm for Caroline county Virginia and planning to move to texas next year. At first I was looking into moving to Dallas but after doing some research now I'm leaning toward moving to Huston.
