I think I've watched almost all of your videos. I love the friendly people of Houston while visiting and the melting pot. It's one thing to have diversity but another to be mixed-up. The living is good as well (cost of living to income ratio)
You mentioned everything from pollen pollution to poverty and crime to keep Houston off my list of cities to live in. I would probably suffocate with the heat and pollen combination.

I’ve lived here my entire life for 29 years. Went to college in Huntsville for 5. But I have been considering relocating to Dallas because my sister moved there and said it’s so much nicer than Houston and it doesn’t flood and have the crime as much. Just so used to life here though.

Hello James. I suggest going to Dallas for a week or two and then determine whether or not you think it's better than Houston. The cost of living and housing prices there are much higher. Not worst than Austin, TX, but alot worst than Houston.

@Tee No Matter what anyone says, Houston's weather conditions are, virtually, Tropical; just because Houston gets 4-8 weeks/year (from the end of December through the end of February) of temperatures between 50-70 degrees Fahrenheit (i.e. the weather conditions are, actually, becoming mild/pleasant), It, Absolutely, Does Not Mean that Houston has four seasons (i.e. temperate) climate conditions!!!

I moved here a year ago for work. It was impossible to acquire a rental home regardless of the fact I was qualified and had the income. You have to BID on rental properties. People from LA and New York with bigger incomes beat you out. The home could be listed at $1,500 per month, but if people with way more money than you outbid you, you're out of luck. I was barely able to acquire an apartment. After living here for a little while, I discovered the road rage and the VERY high crime. Watching the 5 o'clock news was like watching an episode of The First 48 EVERYDAY!! I stopped at a gas station on my way to work and someone attempted to break into my car at 7 A.M. IN THE MORNING!!! There are many rough areas and it's just plain dangerous. You have to pay the money to live where it's safer. People aren't friendly. Many of the schools are HORRIBLE with student misbehavior. This is NOT a place to raise your kids unless you're pretty well off and you can afford to live in the better areas. Needless to say, I'm gone. I will NEVER return to Houston to live.

I hope you plan on doing another video of the places to live in Houston and also what is a planned community.

With all the inflation happening right now in the states, Houston is the best place to be right now. I lived in Houston for 8 years and also lived in Los Angeles for almost 3 years. Yes the weather is really humid and horrible but you will save a lot of money if you make the move. Just moved back from LA and never going back because of the cost of living.

It is freaking absurd how much litter there is. I have never seen so much trash in my life. The city is covered w it.

Well I can tell you why you shouldn’t move to, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Washington DC, Baltimore, Atalanta, Tampa. While I currently live in Houston. 😅I’ve lived and worked in or near to all of them.
And I have to say houston is the place I have earned the most money. I have climbed faster here economically than any of those other places. I would never return to any of those places ever!
So I’m not sure why you aren’t finding success, but self determination and hard work are needed and not laziness. Some people think forty hours a week is hard work. 😂
Houston has relatively cheaper gas than the rest of the country by far. We have better paying jobs. And homes are cheaper than the top twenty most populated cities in the United States. So your getting more for your money.
Now if you don’t care about money, than yes stay away from Houston and go to Chicago, LA, Portland, New York, where rents and homes are twice as high. Along with those high prices come with high violent crime rates.
Sky high taxes plague those top cities in other states besides texas.

Honest question: why the encouragement to avoid moving into predominantly black neighborhoods? I know the crime element exists, but I’m seeing gentrification taking place in ‘our’ devalued areas; fast forward 10 years and now ‘we’ can’t afford to buy in our own neighborhoods. Let alone theirs. Example: Acres Homes. I own 2.5 acres there and wasn’t willing to build there 10 years ago because of crime then. Fast forward now, I could never buy that same plot of land for what it’s assessed (taxation) at today. New town homes (acreage being built up monthly into moderately priced housing); in that area, only two miles up the road from Oak Forest/Garden Oaks are selling for $400k. Mind you, these townhome communities are put on 2k square lots each. People that can’t afford the $1.3M homes in Oak Forest/Garden Oaks are buying these properties and soon will eventually price out their poorer, elderly and depressed generational black neighbors. We will lose, once again, our opportunity to establish generational wealth, because others are playing the long game. We somehow believe the ‘white man’s ice is colder’, continue to move from our land where we were forced, driven, only allowed to live and they will continue to economically benefit from us. Buy low, sell high. Just remember how they sold up beachfront property (sold/given to former slaves) because you couldn’t grow crops on it. It had no agricultural benefit to them until they wanted to swim at these same beaches and have vacation homes. I wish/hope we begin to value what we have; we are steadily losing economic ground because we’ve lost sight of our black American ancestral struggle. They bled, sweated and died for land that we current generations see no value in. I worry for our future…😔

I find no issue with anything you've so eloquently stated, but my recommendation is based on several social or potential safety and educational issues pertaining to certain communities when it could potentially affect a transplant to the area. Additionally, my video content is meant to appeal to the needs of my specific niche demographic and not those of the masses (And they're not all black or African American contrary to popular belief).
Thank you for the comment and hopeful follow. If you're still local, we should connect for lunch in 3rd ward sometime soon; my treat. Take care and God bless.

Ok @jada I need you to know that your boy would have warned you about the snakes if that were the "True Untold Story", lol... I'm sure there are some snakes somewhere out there, as this is Texas, but I can honestly say I have NEVER personally seen a snake in any of my houses in 41 years on earth here in Houston, TX. The only snakes I've seen up close and personal have been either at the local zoo or a friend's pet snake (crazy to think someone could have a pet snake). Actually, come to think of it, one of my current relo clients has 2 pet snakes.

Numbers say one thing but in my experience i dont find Houston to be all that crime ridden. Plenty of good neighborhoods in H Town and plenty of jobs. Its not hard to get out the hood here.
