These are all great questions! Houston overall has a great African American scene and culture. Black Enterprise labeled Houston as the next Black Mecca of the U.S. back in 2014. Well, in this particular video I visited/toured 2 different communities, but the bulk of the video was shot in the fabulous Master Planned Community of Meridiana! Yes, there is an annual HOA Fee. The fee varies dependent on whether or not you live in a gated section or not. On average, the non-gated sections current annual HOA fee is $1250.00. However, there are multiple communities still building new construction within 5 -15 minutes south of Pearland, TX. Hi @jessica23606! - Texas Home exemptions remove part of your home's value from taxation, so they lower your taxes. For example, your home is appraised at $300,000, and you qualify for a $40,000 exemption (this is the amount mandated for school districts), you will pay school taxes on the home as if it was worth only $260,000... As of Sept. 2021 you now are able to apply for your Tx Home Exemption just as soon as the purchase of your home has been recorded by the Local County Tax office, which is typically done within 30 days after you close on your house...
