      I will definitely take this into account for future videos. The reason why I typically don't show the "Fine Tuning" phase is because it can be somewhat time consuming, and may take up a larger portion of the video than I would like. Still love the feedback and maybe I can figure out a way to incorporate this more often :)

    dude, thank you so much for this. I never comment on videos. I spent hours trying to fix the weird open seams on my cloth sim, and couldn't figure it out (who knew the fix was so simple?). I searched and searched online to try to see if anyone had the solution to this, but no luck. they kept saying mess with the sewing force and stuff. a few weeks later and I run into your video and it is making me open up that .blend file again with hope. i really appreciate this, you are truly a life saver.

    • @hobbyhunt6347

      So sorry for my late response! 🙏 So I guess it depends what you mean by realistic seams? If you mean stitching along the seams while simulating I'm sure that it's somehow possible however I have never looked into this myself unfortunately 😕. However if you mean just cleaning up the seams, then perhaps I can help or make a video on this in the future? Again I apologize for the late response!

      So long as you "unzipped" the compressed file, it's difficult to say exactly what the issue is :( I would also perhaps recommend making sure youre running the latest version of blender to see if it's just a bug with the version you're currently using.
      Maybe also watch someones tutorial for installing the app, such as going preferences and finding your file after you've "unzipped" it and enabling the add-on.
      Sorry I could be more helpful:(

    Thank you so much for sharing, I have learnt alot from this tutorial, so thank you for freely sharing your knwoledge and time. I wanted to ask however, what if I am not animating my charecter, do I just set it to frame one and only bake one frame, or will this not work? Thanks again

    • @hobbyhunt6347
      @hobbyhunt6347  Год назад

      Great question, so you will most likely need to bake more than one frame, I recommend atleast 20 to let your simulation settle as much as possible, and if your not animating it just depends on your preference. If I understanding right, you should be able to just render whichever single image frame you want to that you think your simulation looks best on.
      Again though, I may not fully understand, so if I didn't answer your question, please let me know.

    Hey I followed every step perfectly but I am not receiving the same outcome you are getting. Sometimes the Shirt I made doesn't collide with the body and that's after I've set collision on the body mesh. I also haven't gotten it to lay or Shrink to the body fully. The shirt mainly just flings around everywhere and then fly's off somewhere lol.

      @hobbyhunt6347  Год назад +4

      I'm glad you figured out whatever the problem was! Just so I do my due diligence, Incase this issue arises again here are some thing it could be....
      1. Possibly you need to increase your character size, 15 meters is around what I typically do. For whatever reason unless your working with large characters Blenders cloth system won't work correctly.
      2. For your characters collision settings, make sure the inner and outer collision distance is turned down completely, as well as the collision in the cloth sim settings.
      Just figured I should respond. Glad you solved your issue :)

      Hmmm.... That's a weird one....
      The only thing that comes to mind is possibly the frame "start" and frame "end" points for the simulation may be in strange locations that may possibly make the animation appear as though it is completely still.
      However that is a long shot if I am honest, and without the ability to actually see your settings and such, it's a tough one for me to help with.
      My apologies for such an unhelpful response.

    • @hobbyhunt6347

      So when in edit mode you should see on menu on the left side of your screen, this menu contains an extrude icon that you can find simply by hovering over each of the icons and reading until you find it. If you don't see this menu, you may be able to hit "T" on your keyboard to get it to appear.
      Once you select the type of Extrusion you'd like using the icon on the left in edit mode, you should be able to either just hit "E" on your keyboard (after selecting all the faces on the object you are extruding by hitting "A" while in edit mode), and extrude the faces out. Or use your mouse after selecting all faces and click and drag the "+" icon that should be hovering near the object you are about to extrude (make sure the extrude icon is selected on the left of you can't see the "+")
      Yeah.... Pretty sure this probs just made it more confusing.... Hope this helps. My apologies for how long this response was 😬

    The scale of objects should be taken into account when working with cloth or other physics sims. If your plane is 2x2 meters and still that small compared to your character, then your scaling is way off. I'd recommend working with more appropriate sizes, particularly when working with physics sims. 1x gravity should be enough for cloth, but not for a character that's 20 meters tall.

    • @hobbyhunt6347
      @hobbyhunt6347  11 месяцев назад +1

      In my experience and having done A LOT of simulations in Blender, this is simply the method that I have found to give the best results for me, however it is definitely not the only option there is :) For specific height requirements, it will almost always give you better results to have a larger model for cloth simulation and simply shrink that model and simulation down after you have saved the bake.
      Thank you so much for commenting so I could explain this in more detail! :)

    6:43 I can't get my extrusion to be solid

    • @hobbyhunt6347
      @hobbyhunt6347  10 месяцев назад

      Have you by any chance tried again with a brand new plane? Sometimes I've found that I've accidentally extruded at a different time while making my mesh and then when I try and extrude late it won't work properly. When this happens the easiest fix is deleting the original plane and starting a new.
      It may also help if you are in "face select mode" instead of edge or vertices in the upper left corner when in edit mode. Then when in face select mode hit "a" to select everything, and try extruding again.
      I know these solutions aren't the most simple to convey over text, but I hope it helps. Sorry I'm not able to be more clear :(

    • @ArtSurvivesArtist

      @hobbyhunt6347 it's partially the fault of a different interface. I'm using 3.6. I had to look around to find the tools you're using. I'll keep trying. I have recently tried learning Marvelous Designer, but I would rather just skip the middleman and use Blender instead.
