I did a 350 into a zr blazer for someone else and I wasn't impressed. @timthemechanix I have a 4.3 5 speed s10 too, they're pretty rare. Mines 2wd though, I love that little truck but I messed up the engine in it, it still runs but it knocks and squeals like crazy, you can't kill the 4.3. I really want to LS/350 swap it.

    • @timthemechanix
      @timthemechanix 11 месяцев назад +1

      Do you know if it has the nv3500 5 speed? They say some come with a different 5speed. I know this one is tough as nails and the same that comes behind the big v8's. I bought this one and sold a ''94 that came with a vortec v6 that had tbi. The engine had thrown rod and I found it unusual because the vortec heads on later 4.3 had spider injectors and I would have had to change ecms. Also the '94 vortec had a metal timing cover without crank sensor, so I put the .94 heads onto a 1999 4.3, then used the metal timing cover after a few mods. Ignition system was also the pre-spider with cap wire pointing upward. It also had the 5 speed with manual shift trans case. But the only way I would install an LS on a manual trans would be remove the front clip and cab. 2 wheel not so bad, I guess but 4x4 is too much.@@AndrewPruteanu

      I mean...... have you ever followed anyone from the general public onto an interstate? If I had a quarter for every time I got stuck behind some cunt merging onto a 70mph interstate going 35mph, I could afford bail for ramming them off the road because they can't drive to save their own life.

      We have people here that will drive four lanes wide at 45mph in a 60 zone. You Yanks have it very good with drivers who maintain the limit or above and know how to properly zipper merge

      Mildly Jelly. I had a super nice '96 Orvis ZJ with the 5.2 magnum and so badly wanted to 5.9/nv3500 swap it. Miss the old girl, wish I'd never sold it.
      Hopefully one day I can find myself a 69-71 duster in decent shape with the 'ole leanin' tower-o-power for cheap. Discovered that Hughes Performance makes a "360/426 stroker kit for the magnum roller motors that makes like 650hp and isn't terribly expensive to build. That'd be a neat combination!

      the NV wouldnt put up with that. lol. the stock 5.9, already, from what i've heard, has slightly more torque than this transmission was tested to be able to handle. and there is basically no aftermarket for the NV3500, so what you see is kinda what you get with them. most of the time, any self respecting 5.9 is gonna make that thing hurt. letalone anything w anymore power.
