The doctors told my Mother that my little sister would not live past the age of 2 years old. She lived to 9 years old and she was and still is a blessing in our life. The doctor also suggested that my sister be institutionalized. My Mother Thank God did not do that either. My sister held our family together for that 9 years she was on earth. I was closest in age to her. And she blessed my life in so many ways. ❤️

I would feel very relaxed and in a great place knowing Kari would embalm me. She has such a calming voice and demeanor. Yesturday I had a little surgery and I started hyperventilating on the table before the put me to sleep. One of the surgery nurses grabbed my hand, looked in my eyes and softly started singing to me. That's how I fell asleep. It's people like this nurse and Kari that make scary things not scary. God Bless You Kari for letting us have a peek in your life. Victor sweetheart you take your time on choosing when you can't do the pain anymore. God Bless You and Keep you as pain free as possible.

Hi Kari! You hit the nail right on the head with this video! My dad's dad was very Ill and my parents were getting ready for the worst. My grandpa had purchased a funeral plan but the funeral home was not in business anymore, nobody remembered where the plan was so we were Ll getting scared if something were to happen. We didn't know where to go. While we were looking into my grandpa's stuff, my dad got really sick and in last than 24 he was put on an induced comma because of a heart attack. I was the only one that was with my mom when she was told my dad had to go home on hospice care when ironically we were trying to get this care for my grandpa! My mother is a very strong woman but I had never seen her like this. She was in denial that my dad was on his final stages of heart failure. When I started getting involved I didn't know how to even start looking at all. I wish I had had all this info back at the time. I started googling and watching as many videos I could about death, morticians, embalming, and all that sort of stuff that was going to happen to my dad or grandpa. I felt I needed to know because I wanted to go into all these places with a "cold" head to be able to "negotiate" anything. Thank God we had secretly bought a funeral plan for my dad since I saw his health deteriorate. Everytime I mentioned this to him he complained I was trying to bury him ahead of time... I had seen how the previous funeral home took advantage of my parents when my grandma (dad's mom) died almost 18 yrs before. So I promised this would never happen to us again. I was fearing a 2for 1 deal in case my dad passed away first. Unfortunately my dad did go before his dad and it was one of the hardest things I have had to see. A 94 yr old crying for the loss of his son. I don't remember crying at all during the funeral or the planning like you said in other videos I had to disconnect emotions and got all those feelings like a year later. O would cry alot and get upset fairly easy. Know I know it was a normal thing I was starting to think I was going crazy! I am really interested in talking to you about doing a career change...

Kari Northey I have been on a couple of occasions. The first time was my grandfather in 1991. My dad picked me up from school, or perhaps left right after the school bus dropped me off (I didn’t drive yet), but you’re right about the person waiting for someone to get there, as it happened in that case. When I got there, my mom told me to start playing Amazing Grace (his favorite hymn) on the organ (which I have now, but it had been my grandmother’s), and we sang it (a lot of family members, plus the pastor and his wife), and when we got to the last verse, was when he really started to go. He had gotten injured a couple of months previously, where he broke his hip, and later got pneumonia. The other time was my wife’s grandfather, and I felt an urge to go to the nursing home where he was at. He had been in the nursing home for several years, basically bedridden, but he had gotten worse in the weeks before it happened, but he had bounced back several times before (maybe trying to fight the inevitable-I don’t know too much of his history, although I know he was a farmer, but he might have been a boxer or maybe he was in the military at some point during his life, which might explain it.) I was a pallbearer for that funeral. I have also seen several other people that were in the dying process.

Kari, as a palliative care RN I guided patients and their families through the dying process to their preference, whether in the home, going to hospice or the hospital. I have always counselled when the situation arose, whether they had a strong faith or not, that the spirit/soul chooses it's time. It either waits for certain people to be present; others to be absent. A family member can be present at the bedside for days, or even weeks, but leave for 5 minutes to take a breather and..... In my own heart, I know it's entirely God's plan, but some people do not want to hear that. It has become a cliche, but it is the truth. Bless you and the calling you have honoured in your craft.

I remember the first time I heard of it was a beautiful 28yr old 2yrs younger than me and terminal cancer and her husband and mother were there when she took some sort of medicine by mouth. I was shocked at first I was like what if she got better. But now I understand I'd want my husband and son there too and to go peacefully with no pain. Is this like what they do in jail tho? The wife of a pastor I am friends with is close to the end of her journey with cancer, and her only child is getting married in 6 weeks. The family desperately prays she can hang on until then. I shared my experience with my uncle who had incurable cancer for 5 years, and no one else we knew with this type of cancer lived longer than 18 months. The year prior to his passing the clinical trials were no longer effective, and we all got together his last summer. But he had planned a trip to Canada to see the fall colors that year, and he was bound and determined to go. Hospice was skeptical, but he did it. My aunt said she thinks that's why he hung on several more weeks, and passed a few weeks after the trip.

I truly appreciate your videos Kari. Death is so mind boggling in my opinion for some they get the opportunity to prepare themselves, and then like in my case I had no warnings when I got that call 7 months ago that my dad had died. It’s been my experience with other family members the insight they have right before they pass away. And that’s not how it was with my dad. He didn’t give me anything. No insight,no closure. So I went from that phone call to walking into the funeral home and I was in complete and utter denial. It is so nice you were able to connect and be able to help someone go through there death process. If there was anything I could walk away with from my dad is he told me in a conversation we had months before that “Death is not the end” that for him “The mind and soul continues on” I guess I didn’t get in the end what I was hoping for. I wanted to be able to feel ok that he was gone and wherever he was his intuition was correct. There’s so many people that get the chance to spend time with family and friends and maybe be able to share that insight with others. That although there gone, there never really gone. I always get emotional when I think of the last 30 years and how most of it was wasted. And I wonder... 😭

Kari Northey I doubt I’ll ever understand this situation because he died from a massive heart attack and he was a heavy smoker. I was talking to a longtime friend today who went with me to the wake the church funeral the burial and the luncheon even she was baffled. I was there for her when her grandma went through a long process of death. That was the thing that really confused me he was 68 and she was 92. I’m afraid of the possibility of losing my mom. I’ll never be able to afford to have her buried in a decent casket she only has a $1500 life insurance policy I’m on SSI I’m too proud to ask for help.why she made me a beneficiary I’ll never figure out. When I finally called the funeral home my family has been using for years and told them who I was they gave me an estimate $4600-$6000 that the casket wouldn’t be esthetically pleasing basically cardboard and clothes ontop. I feel humiliated at the thought of it. I don’t want to spend money I don’t have. Both her parents have passed away. I remember a vlog you did about homes helping families and that they talk or gossip if it’s found out that the family really did have the money and the family gets blacklisted. If I end up doing it that way with a church viewing and funeral and buried all in one day does that mean I’m disrespectful and don’t truly love her? But I don’t want to have guilt. Anyway hope you have a great day. My package arrived today I wonder what goodies they sent me. I’m thinking about when I go back to school I enrolled in the funeral director program not too sure if I could handle embalming the thought of it gives me nightmares. Life goes on...

When she was first told that it was terminal, I asked her if she had thought about going to the funeral home and making some decisions. She didn’t want to do that. If I’m ever in that position I think I will. I might change my mind if I’m in her shoes. But I truly believe that will be my decision. Wow! I’m late seeing this. This is an amazing and touching story. What comes across from you more than anything else is your amazing compassion for people. Quite honestly, I don’t see that in a lot of funeral directors these days. Where I live most of the small, family owned funeral homes are really being forced into selling out to the large “corporate” funeral homes. There are very few left. And from my experience those are the very best to work with. Our family, going back several generations, used the same funeral home. Now it’s been bought out by a larger company. I grew up in a small town and everyone was very loyal to their family funeral home. There were only two. Now the other one owns “our” funeral home. It’s really hard for everyone to accept. I do take some comfort in knowing that my nephews’ step-mother is a funeral director for that company. I KNOW she treats people with dignity and kindness.

Hi Kari. What a lovely, yet sad story. I noticed that u filmed this 3 yrs ago. Has Viktor, transitioned? It makes me very sad to hear abt those who have cancer, whether I know the person or not. This is bc, cancer is an equal opportunity killer. But I have to say that he had/has a lot of courage to visit a FH, and make his arrangements. I couldn't do that. I'd just leave it to my friend. Best I could bring myself to do, is write a letter, mail it to her & tell her not to open until I transition.
U are a really caring & understanding person. This why I liked educating myself thru you. The way you explain things to your subscribers, kind of takes the sting out of death. Thank you.

My dad passed away not even 2 weeks from pancreatic cancer. So It kills me more since I have been talking to victor. And getting to know his story. I think of him everyday and get on here all the time!! Also kari your an amazing person! Honestly I get scared still get scared of death and I have no reason why.. I know I won't "feel" anything when I die but the thought now if I get buried to if I be on fire and cremated that just gives me so much anxiety. But watching your stuff has help. But I just don't know what I want one day considering I'm scared of being burned or go in the ground.

I also lost a son who was 26 weeks prematurely born but his brother (twin) survived. I mean seriously how do you grieve and be hopefully at the same time? We had him cremated but I don't and haven't looked at his ashes. He was the bigger twin weighing 2 pounds 7oz and the survival twin weighed 1 pound 5 oz. The names are Gabriel and Adam.

He's very delayed in speech so he needs speech therapy also he has had 4 bowel obstructions which has led to short gut syndrome. He's on a special formula to drink and he may need a G tube. When he finally came home from NICU he was on a year of O2. Then when he came home after the obstructions he came home on feeding tube through the nose. I had to learn to drop them down his nose. I hope he doesn't need anymore surgery. Ugh so scary but yet so stressful.

the answer depends on the situation i believe. personally, every time i hear this phrase i cringe because in my life its always been used by people choosing to take their life because they are diagnosed with some disease and would rather die while they are in better shape so they are no ta "burden" to their family. as a "disabled" person (i use a wheelchair) who loves her life this bothers me. the doctors always told my parents the worst case scenario and that i would never have quality of life. if i choose or they chose to believe the dr's i would not be here to see how wrong the doctors were. i dont think shes meaning the phrase this way, but it is what i think of every time i
hear it. ill be curious her response. Side note, i am not judging what others decide to do, simply pointing out that what the dr's and others say your life wil lbe like after a diagnosis isnt always correct. So making a decision of suicide, euthanasia, or abortion isnt always the best choice. ill leave it at that lol

I work in childcare with several special needs children. Sometimes parents r told information from medical staff when their children r very young that they will not b able to walk, communicate, not good quality of life, etc and the child has turned out to b extremely mobile and happy. I think the strength of the spirit has a lot to do with it.

I think it’s a big comfort for people to know they have choices in a situation they have no control over. After watching four people pass away from cancer, I empathize. I would never want to die like that. I’d rather go to sleep comfortably with my family around me than be in that much pain, to literally wither away into nothing. Living in Florida my family owns a hair salon that’s 90 percent seniors. Hospice is done at home with a lot of patients until usually the last few days. I don’t want to lay in a bed for a year or however long, withering away in agonizing pain.

Hello Kari I've a couple of questions I loved the video u did with ur mom I just cried but to let u know my mom is a medical Examiner back home in Oxford England UK 56 miles NW of London and I asked her Y do you do this type of work she enjoys studying of the bones and she told me I'm the Voice for the Dead I thought you might wanted to know that and if u ever heard that reason the Voice for the Dead My other question is Y when the deased is lying in the casket u always see their hands crossed is their a reason for that and how do you keep them in place with out sliding down. My other question is u did a video can't remember the title was about but u said something to the effect of a pacemaker exploding well I have a heart Defibrillator implanted .My last question when my husband of 23 yrs was killed in the Iraqi war the funeral home here in Houston Tx USA was opened 24 hrs for viewing but their was a Marine 1at every Exit and 2 in front of the front doors the funeral Director and staff left out on the table Coffee and Pastries and they all went home. Next month October Halloween of all times will be my husband's 12yrs with the Good Lord. To this day I still miss him. Do you know any grieving communities were people have lost someone in the Military. Please let me know something soon 🙏 I'm scared of dying

@Daniel Garcia Hello Daniel, I'm glad you are still with us. What
kind of cancer do you have, if I may ask? And, have you tried
alternative treatments? There are endless YT videos on many
types of cancer that people have had and are now free of the
disease. I know of one woman's daughter that had 5 different
types of cancer and she used a variety of all natural treatment
protocols and she is alive and well today after being told by her
doctors to go home and plan her funeral after years of grueling
chemo. She was exhausted and wanted to give up but her Mother
wouldn't let her surrender to death! You should do a YT search on
your particular cancer and check to see what others have found
to be successful treatments. As long as there is breath in your
body there is always hope! I'm praying for you and your family
Daniel as are many others here. Don't give up and don't give in!
This is a battle you can win!!! We can pray you through! I'm
sending you blessings of health and well being Daniel... =)

@Daniel Garcia Hi Daniel, thanks for your reply. I found
videos that relate to your situation and they are listed
below. I know that a body that is highly acidic is a body
that will develop and feed cancer, while a body that is
PH Balanced will not feed or support cancer. You can
buy PH Balance Test Strips at health food stores and
take your own PH level test and then you can monitor
your PH level as you change to a more healthy cancer
fighting diet. Nutrition is key to a healthy body and the
water you ingest is very important also. Water with any
fluoride is not healthy for the human body. FYI, these
videos can help you find your path to better health if
you apply their knowledge to your life each day. Where
there is the will to live, God made a way to live a better
healthier life. Chemicals kill, nature heals and, "The
leaves of the trees are for the healing of the nations."
I wish you every blessing and I know there are many
people that are praying for you and all that are dealing
with cancer and other deadly diseases that have been
conquered with diet, dedication and the will to live. God
bless you and keep you, may His face shine upon you
and may He grant you health and peace... Take care!!!

@Daniel Garcia Hi Daniel! I'm glad I saw your reply before I
go to bed. I hope you'll watch the videos I listed. They are
loaded with great life saving information. You really should
implement some protocols into your life that will raise your
PH Balance and oxygenate your body. Cancer cannot live
in a body that is PH Balanced and oxygenated. If you get
rid of the acidic body, you will get rid of the cancer. Also,
cut sugar out of your diet, cancer loves sugar! You can get
PH Balance test strips at health food stores and test your
progress as you go. There is a product called Transfer
Factor Classic Formula and I know people that have used
it on their dogs that had been sent home to die after loads
of expensive chemo vet care and got rid of their cancer.
It is a human supplement that has worked for people also
with great results. I wish you all the best and a smooth
road to recovery. Please keep us posted on your progress.
Lots of people are keeping you in our prayers. God bless
and keep you and your family Daniel!!!
