You should consider writing a book or teaching a course on How To Review a Product on RUclips. Seriously. Yours are without peer. Well-organized and thought-out, including plenty of information, but not stretching into repetition and boredom. Home run every time. A+
They look like a nice option for the price. I too like the hidden pocket. Shows they are willing to put in some features that take a little more in manufacturing, then not charging for it. The finish looks great. Thanks for adding in the sizing info.
Found 4 pair of these at the goodwill $5.00 each my size 38x34! I am in the woods everyday I would highly recommend these guys. Great for SAR Peace officers everyday folk!
I really like the cut of the front pockets. Particularly how they have a nice horizontal section at the bottom of them for hooking the pocket clip of your knife, flashlight, key keeper, multi tool, etc. on. That looks like it will keep that piece of gear pointed vertically on the pocket and not angle in; giving you more usable room in your pocket.
Great review. Just came across this channel recently and I really like how informative and descriptive you are. Also, your production quality is great. I hate videos where the audio is terrible and it is very easy to hear and understand you. Great videos!
My Vertx pants shrunk in the wash A LOT. A full size for sure. I like Tru-Spec and 5.11 better. I have had all three for at least for a year and a half of use and all are still in great shape.
I'm still checking out reviews of this pants after many years after launch and hard to find in my size now. I like the classic Chino style with wide and straight legs but a little bit dislike of the low waist. Overall still very fascinating pants than the current slim fit style of Vertx.
The foundation of my EDC is the 5.11 Tact pant with two knife/cellphone pockets. The left knife pocket carries the SOG Trident in Black TiNi with the seatbelt cutter. The knife is set up for left hand carry and is so light that it went through the wash twice and the drier once. The right side pocket carries the Leatherman PST in the leather case. The pant is held up with the SOE EDC belt in black on black with the Cobra Belt Buckle. Wear the pant at helping around the business property cutting the twine on bales of hay with the seatbelt cutter (do not need to open the knife to be useful). And on a short trip on the last week of March to Port Aransas, Texas that has a great beach and a channel for fishing and watching the oil tankers coming in from the oil platforms. Nearby is docked the second largest drill platform in the gulf and Corpus Christi, Texas has the USS Lexington CV-16 aircraft carrier on display for self guided tours... Thank you for the video ! tjl
I used to use woolrich elite discreet pants which came in winter and summer weights, now I mostly wear the Duluth Trading Co. stuff, its the most versatile and durable stuff on the markket as far as I'm concerned. Cheers
Great review! I think you could do great reviews of just regular clothing with your attention to detail. I can tell these are made extremely well. Your weight loss is most noticeable in this video, btw so good job!
+traderjoes Thanks! I always try to go into detail on these type of reviews in order to provide viewers with as much information as possible. Yeah, I've been able to drop some pounds over the past few months. Over the past few years my doctors were doing variations to my medications, which was not helping with my weight. Things have been settled for the past several months and I have also put myself on a calorie limit to help lose that weight.
Hey Urban Prepper, I got a SOG tactical belt about a month ago and it works great. I got mine at walmart for somewhere around 18 or 20 bucks, I can't quite rember but anyway I saw that they had it in black and tan I got tan to go with my tan t cargo pants, you should get black for your pants. Im pretty shure you can get it on Amazon for around the same price.
Great video. Since I work as a Chemical Tech, I tend to wash my pants at least twice a week. I eventually end up buying new pants within a year, due to the amount of washing and drying. I think these pants may take a better beating than my Current brand.
I've been looking for some cargo pants. I'm currently between this exact same model and one of ScotteVest's. Since I'm taking a personal uniform approach -a single outfit everyday-, I'll probably end up deciding in favor of SeV's, since they can be used in more formal occasions. However, I like the external cargo pockets of the Vertx pants (and other brands), because I can have easy access to its contents even when I'm sitting - my main complaint about regular jean-cut pants is just how difficult it is to take anything out of any of the pockets when I'm sitting, especially in the car (with the seatbelt on).
Which season are the pants suitable for? Can it resist winter cold in December? I have W-32 L-32 as normal size. Should I bump up to W-34 or can I stick with W-32?
Nice review and nice pants. Never really heard of them before, will check em out! The features of the pants is great, I like the discreet pocket especially.
+Pedro Uriartte Thanks for watching! I think Levis will have more give than the Vertx and are less loose on the legs. I'm not sure what style Levis you use, as there are many variations. With my jeans, they will stretch out over time. These tactical pants stay fairly consistent with their shape and fit.
I've had bad luck with TrueSpec. Not sure if the 24-7 are more durable? The others didn't last very long on a normal security job of walking and getting in and out of a vehicle.
Tru specs stitching is terrible and durability is questionable. 5.11 strykes are great for daily duty use and their apex are phenomenal for every day wear. I have the VERTX recon pants for tactical shooting drills and camping/hiking
I don't typically wear tactical pants because they "look" like tactical pants, which breaks the whole gray man approach. Functionality, tactical pants are awesome though.

a bit lower profile than my proper lightweight tacticals, ill try em out thanks. Top notch fair review.!
+Canadian Prepper Thanks CP! Keep me posted on how you like them, if you end up trying them out.
How did you like them CP? I love the 511 pants, and my wife wants me to go with som Propper pants, but these Vertex look good too

+gundog4314 I'll need to try some of the Duluth Trading Co. products out. Thanks for the tip!

Great secure pockets for travellers
I like the colour choices..

Nice. If you end up getting some, please keep me posted on how they hold up for you. Mine have been through many, many wash cycles.

Congratulations on making it to the top 10 youtube survival channels!
+Carlos de la Cruz Really? Where is that listed?
+TheUrbanPrepper I think it's from WatchMojo on RUclips. They did a video on the top ten survival channels.
+qwertyuiop4halo Sweet! I had no idea.
Next you gotta review their Tactical Undies.
Already testing them. :)
Which season are the pants suitable for? Can it resist winter cold in December? I have W-32 L-32 as normal size. Should I bump up to W-34 or can I stick with W-32?
They're amazing! I've never owned a single pair of tactical pants
Mrs. UP approves these pants and actually wants me to buy more of them because she likes the way they look. Now that's a stamp of approval!
thank you for this review. An actual informative review on a product. As odd as it might seem, that is a rarity nowadays.
I'm glad that you enjoyed it. I try to put in all of the details that I would want to know about when planning out my reviews.
How does the fit compare to the 5.11 strykes
Good review, UP. Added them to my wishlist. When you gonna have your own Amazon Store?
Nice review and nice pants. Never really heard of them before, will check em out! The features of the pants is great, I like the discreet pocket especially.
+Geordie Prepper The discreet pockets are awesome. I wish all of my pants had them.
Is it spelled vIertex? Or VertX? Why are you pronouncing it VIERTEX?
What is that small pocket clip for your keys?
Great Video, thks.
Thanks! What are you wearing for shirts!? Looks very tactical and worth a mention even though it's a Vertx vid.
+TheFlyingotto The shirts in this video were some Old Navy long sleeve nits. I think I paid $10 for each one. Affordable and I like how they look.
Excellent trousers Cliff. Hey, did you say "too tactical"?
Btw "? BTW congrats on watch Mojo #7!
+SurvivalTech Nord Haha.... Yeah, a little tactical goes a long way. Thanks on the watch!
+SurvivalTech Nord I was not aware about the WatchMojo listing until you and a few others mentioned it. Very cool!
TheUrbanPrepper well you are the man Cliff :)
Thanks for sharing! How would you compare the fit with a pair of Levis?
+Pedro Uriartte Thanks for watching! I think Levis will have more give than the Vertx and are less loose on the legs. I'm not sure what style Levis you use, as there are many variations. With my jeans, they will stretch out over time. These tactical pants stay fairly consistent with their shape and fit.
great video TUP ,what case are you using for your phone I have the exact model and can't find a reliable once
Thanks! The case is called the Poetic Affinity. I picked mine up on Amazon for around $10.
+TheUrbanPrepper thank you because I have a feeling the next time it falls it's going to crack
+cavaughn haynes Mine has survived so many drops with this case.
TruSpec 24/7s are $20 cheaper and look way better.
Nice! I'll need to check them and do a comparison.
I have the VERTX recon pants for tactical shooting drills and camping/hiking
slacks not cargo? Who the hell thinks that people wearing cargo pants are preppers?
They're too noisy for me. I found that annoying, however the design is decent
Tactical pants? Tacti-cool?
maybe you could put cash in the hidden zipper pocket?
Definitely! It would with great for that.
;-)
Or drugs.
+ATF6281914 Just say no. :)
TheUrbanPrepper OK, Nancy.
Wtf is vairtex..... Vertx
Why would i listen to a review about tactical pants from a guy who doesnt like tactical pants?
I don't typically wear tactical pants because they "look" like tactical pants, which breaks the whole gray man approach. Functionality, tactical pants are awesome though.
