Love this review! Short, concise, and shows the differences in pants when comparing them! Vertx definitely should add more photos with different angles of their pants instead of just the front and back on their website along with some sort of comparison tool to help customers find the right pants/clothes for them.
what I like the most with the vertx pants is the small flap on the inside of the back pocket that keeps you from losing your phone or wallet when you sit down
Thanks for the video. I was hoping these would be a nice replacement for my older LTs, and your review was really the only comprehensive source of info I found. Much appreciated!
Glad you found it useful. Thanks. I try and include all the info I'd want to see in a review. Really, that's the reason I started making vids in the first place.
I have the Phantom Ops Pants and tho they fit me better than the Vertx Original Tactical Pants, but I do not like the main cargo pockets at all. They are too shallow and the size of the big flap makes them hard to get into, so I almost never wear them. I’m on my 3rd pair of the Original Tactical Pants. I really like them, and my only negative on the Originals are that they are too baggy. I don't use the dedicated knife pockets either.
I use the knife pocket on all of the pants that I have that have them, although after wearing these a bunch of times really think its way too low on these. I feel like I'm sitting on my knife.
Any color recommendations? I've noticed the ubiquitous tan color on other tactical pants I've owned often come with a shine or glisten which I've found awkward. I'm becoming attracted to the gray color, but I'm concerned the pants may be too hot in darker tones. I've been looking at Kuhl pants as well. Any familiarity there? Thanks so much.
I'm guessing that this video is designed for tactical pant aficionados that are looking for specific features and details. These pants seem OK but I would be better sold if someone was wearing them out in the field and ambulating along rough terrain. The fact that the pockets have a 9" depth doesn't arouse my buying interests. In the end, what will determine your pant choice is whether or not you can fit into the darn things.
How is the crotch cut on these? I tried some phantom ops, and found the crotch to be uncomfortably high for normal wear. Are these any better in this aspect?
Thanks, i have been waiting for this review. AFAIK this is the first on youtube. They say on their website that 2.0 have "1 inch relaxed waist", can you confirm that? Also, i understand that "reduced leg volume" is mostly at the bottom of the pants (below knee), not so much higher up.
I'm wearing them right now at work. I compared the stretch in the waist side by side and really couldn't tell a difference. It was in one of the takes of the vid that apparently didn't make the final cut. Oops. That along with showing the rear pockets. I can measure the thigh area when I get home tonight and compare it.
Thanks! I was just wondering should i order them in my usual Vertx size of 30x32 or go with 29x32 because of the "relaxed waist", i guess i should stick with my usual size then. Interesting though why do they confuse their customers with statements like that if its the same.
Lucky you. ;) I hope Vertx will show some new cool stuff at SHOT Show. When you get back, could you also measure how wide they are 2 inches below the crotch? This way I will have pretty good idea how wide/slim they are. Have fun at SHOT Show!
I'm not counting on them having anything earth shattering as companies seem to do rolling releases these days, but we'll see. Just in case your email gets buried down in the box by the end of the week, post another comment around Friday to remind me to check the pants. Tanks
Thanks for the reminder! :-) The Phantom LTs have a 23cm opening while the LT 2.0 have a 22 cm opening, so just slightly smaller. Also, nothing new at SHOT, but they said that they have some new pants coming out around the NRA convention with more advanced fabrics.

Somehow the part I recorded showing that didn't make the vid. Not sure what happened. Thanks for pointing it out
cheers man keep up the good work
Thanks!
Good review. You explained the differences in their pants very well. I have several of their original phantom pants and like them alot.
Thanks! I agree - they are great pants

That sounds reasonable. They seem to run small

I'd say it's about the same as the other Vertx pants I have so it may be a little high riding on you as well if the other styles were that way.
Which are better for Florida weather the phantom lt or the fusion lt? Thanks
I think they are both similar thickness

I had accidentally ordered a 32x30 instead of my normal Vertx 33x30 and the 32 was definitely too small. So I'd stick with your regular size.
Great review! As LT 2.0 have "reduced leg volume for a more athletic fit" I'm wondering how big is the leg opening. Could you measure that?
Sven Fenris thanks. I'm going to be at SHOT Show through the end of the week so it will be a bit before I get to it.

Hey,
This is a friendly reminder just like you asked. ;)

The amazon's link shows it is a women's pant?
dez oops! thanks for pointing that out. Guess I should have looked closer. I'll fix that when I get home
Fixed! :-)
Great review. Love it
Thanks dez!
amazon is most of time wrong with their descriptions however i belive vertx makes womans version as well
Do these have the hidden zipper pockets on both sides?
Just the right side
How wide is that knife pocket? My ZT is pretty fat.....
I apologize for the super delayed response. The pocket is 2" wide by 5" deep. It won't fit my Emerson Sheepdog.
Any plans to review vests?
I'm not really a vest kind of guy so probably not.
what about shirt reviews?
Here's a festive one... :-) ruclips.net/video/TyarIM91wpQ/видео.html
