you can tell he's super passionate about food, when he's in his environment he's calm and happy sounding. when he's on kitchen nightmares he freaks out because he's appalled at how BAD people can cook, serve and make people PAY for.
It might be that in America the competition for ratings leads to shows trying to out-bombast each other, while the British get put off by excessive drama.
i think a calm angry Gordon is much more intimidating than the loud angry Gordon we're all familiar with on hell's kitchen. Have you watched boiling point? shits scary imo
+The Frosty Saiyan him and samuel L. jackson in the same room would cause a "FUCK" singularity from the word being said so much, the sware jar would literally turn into a blackhole
They're flat and brown all over. They're supposed to be brown underneath, pale gold on top and have a bump. Gordon's are brown all over and flat on top.
3:17 I love Gordon, but I think he forgot how to count. "Just stand up the tray, and tap it two or three times." *Tap, tap, tap, tap, tap, tap, tap, tap!*
There you go found it on seperate site 3 medium eggs 80g caster sugar 1 tbsp honey 80g plain flour - plus extra for dusting 40g ground almonds 75g unsalted butter , melted, plus extra for the tin
fun fact: poppy seeds will help you sleep if you have problems with insomnia and has no side effects so eat poppy seeds instead of swallowing a pill :)
EH CBunny i ment it can prove that you are not a drug abuser in legal cases. ofc you can avoid eating poppy seeds before a test, same as avoiding eating large quantities of fruit before a long driving session :)
+Thomas Jackson the comma works as, although its not a separate clause, (see what I did there) it mobilised the word Ramsay so I could put it at the beginning or end of the sentence and it would still make sense
i think he leaves out the exact amounts to encourage people to experiment and get a feel for what they're doing. Also with a lot of foods, different people prefer different things, even in the same meal. Some people might like a lot of lemon, and others might like less. There are a lot of recipes online, but people might see how many ingredients and steps there are and not want to make it. By focusing just on the cooking, he's helping people realize that cooking doesn't have to be intimidating.
Grapes are the main ingredient into making wine because they ferment with other ingredients. However, Poppy seeds you can pick off the plant and can smoke.
at 4:01, he said "180 degrees" "for ten minutes" while looking down as if reading a note or something that was on the stove or floor, did anyone else catch that?
Would these be eaten on their own, or served with some form of topping, like syrup for example? Or would that be up to the discretion of the one consuming the dish?
It is funny that Gordon freaked out in his Great escape to India when someone uses poppy seed on their curry. Now, he's using it himself. He's finally learned.
I used 3 Eggs, 80g sugar, 80g flour, 75g butter. I did not use the Poppy seeds (Don't like) and I put in orange in place of Lemon any Citrus would do I'm sure?
how long will these store in an airtight container... there are madeleines from a store I buy that are individually wrapped, but without nitrogen and last for a year.. ?
I did this it was good that tray is hard to find. luckily was able to get something similar in bed bath and beyond kitchen section. I does taste good I just did mine with strawberries.. Love these clips.
Looks amazing, delicious and easy to get done. But I'm not good with proportions/measure... I'd love to know for example, how much of butter, how much of sugar.
Looks yummier than madeleines Ive made before. Will try this. Might be nicer than Croque Madame all the time when Im feeling like enjoying a taste of Europe. I miss Europe.
I love Madeleines and have tried twice to make them, but its hard to get it right. It looks easy as pie, but its so difficult to get them exactly right. I think I might try again soon, because this is one pastry I have a hard time perfecting.
I want to try and make these but I have a (probably) stupid question: when he says to bake @ 180 degrees, he's talking Celsius, right? I just don't wanna mess these up.
+bodhid Made them. Very nice and the recipe gives a nice fluffy cake is whisked sufficiently as instructed. I tried to reduce the sugar to 60 grams to make them "healthier" and I wouldn't advise it; they lack sweetness. Use the amount Gordon recommends. Lemon and poppy seeds a really nice combination.
No salt? No pepper? No a touch of olive oil? Is this Gordon Ramsay?
haha nice
no fresh lemon juice?! :O
+Cosa Aliandoe No cursing? I think this is a fake channel
+Jan Andres Well, he uses a whisk instead of a beater sooo... beats me
Brought one of his lines to mind, with a twist: "Where is the lemon zest?!" "WHERE IS THE LEEEEMOOON ZEEEEST?!"
you can tell he's super passionate about food, when he's in his environment he's calm and happy sounding. when he's on kitchen nightmares he freaks out because he's appalled at how BAD people can cook, serve and make people PAY for.
the american one is so much more hostile than the uk one

Hurrrr
Peachy Bubbles olajabla
yup, keep changing hands every 15s and you'll see it double in size.
Jenny Le BRUH😂
Jenny Le That's what she sajd
hilarious 😆
That's what Jenni Lee did
they look like big almonds
When I saw it thats what I thought
If I had the money I would hire Gordon Ramsay as a personal chef, and tell him, make what ever YOU like. I would love it all.
+The Frosty Saiyan him and samuel L. jackson in the same room would cause a "FUCK" singularity from the word being said so much, the sware jar would literally turn into a blackhole
I think only a select few people would be able to afford Gordon
+The Frosty Saiyan Good luck getting the money.
And if I were Gordon Ramsay in that situation I'd shove a frozen twinkie in my ass, shit it back out, and serve it. For the luls.
Doesnt his kids get to eat his food for basically free
3 large eggs
75 grams of butter
80 grams of sugar
80 grams of self-raising flour
the zest of 1 lemon
15 grams of poppy seeds
Did he seriously just say, the secret is that it's delicious...
lol I caught that too.
well hes not wrong
The use of delicious is subjective, so I think Gordon is saying make the madeleines how you would like them to taste.
They're flat and brown all over. They're supposed to be brown underneath, pale gold on top and have a bump. Gordon's are brown all over and flat on top.
"Now just tap the sheet 2 or 3 times"... Taps it 8 times.
+007nikster2 he said "a little tap on the side of the tray"
+007nikster2 He never says that though
+MuffMuff36 He said that when he was taking out the finished madeleines, not when he is getting rid of the excess flour
+Jadran Ahlstrom are you all deaf he said tap the tray 2 or 3 times to get rid of the excess flour
ahh fuck this petty shit
3:17
I love Gordon, but I think he forgot how to count.
"Just stand up the tray, and tap it two or three times."
*Tap, tap, tap, tap, tap, tap, tap, tap!*
two-or-three is a way of saying 'not more than necessary'
'' The secret to a really good madeleine is it's light, fluffy, delicious and perfect with coffee in the morning.'' Wait what?
*pours oj*
+Seigardify He's describing how a madeleine should be
I don't get it
Also, the nipple
yeah, and?
There you go found it on seperate site
3 medium eggs
80g caster sugar
1 tbsp honey
80g plain flour - plus extra for dusting
40g ground almonds
75g unsalted butter , melted, plus extra for the tin
I didn't see either honey or almonds going in there - poppy seeds yes.
Lmao 😂
these videos are so ADDICTING..been watching them for like the whole afternoon, keep it up gordon! ;)
Fabulous Mc Swag I agree. It's awesome.
Fabulous Mc Swag he teaches people so much tips for cooking.
fun fact: poppy seeds will help you sleep if you have problems with insomnia and has no side effects so eat poppy seeds instead of swallowing a pill :)
If you are taking a drug test avoid eating poppy seeds because you may have a false positive for opium
yea that can be a bummer ^^ tho ur stool sample can prove poppy seed consummation, as a good part of it can't be digested, so you should be ok. ;)
Dan black Your potential employer is not paying for a secondary test. They only warn you to before the initial drug test not to consume poppy seeds.
EH CBunny i ment it can prove that you are not a drug abuser in legal cases. ofc you can avoid eating poppy seeds before a test, same as avoiding eating large quantities of fruit before a long driving session :)
Dan black What does fruit have to do with a long driving session? That you have to pee or what? :p
"expresso". I'm ashamed of you, Ramsay
Damn it, you beat me to it. I was so going to mention that!
that comma is not required... bad grammar
+Thomas Jackson the comma works as, although its not a separate clause, (see what I did there) it mobilised the word Ramsay so I could put it at the beginning or end of the sentence and it would still make sense
Or is he referring to the use of a comma in my sentence?
+Ian Hargreaves either way both commas make sense
Thank you for the close up on his groin
+Devin Carnes Where?! - says the pervert -
jamrockprincess 4:57 you're welcome
Devin Carnes
LMAO!! thanks...
It's where he keeps his churizo
Listen to 0:46 - 0:55 without looking at it, it's hilarious!
Oh my.. That's dirty.
lol
Soul Destroyer you sneaky bastard...
"The sugar"; "the melted butter", etc... HOW MUCH?
as much as you would like
i think he leaves out the exact amounts to encourage people to experiment and get a feel for what they're doing. Also with a lot of foods, different people prefer different things, even in the same meal. Some people might like a lot of lemon, and others might like less. Put everything you have. Just like in the video.
Jionunez7 baking needs more precise ingredient amounts than cooking...
Christoffer Hødal most recipes follows the same ratio of sugar, melter butter and etc
And Tap It 2 or 3 Times... Taps 8 Times
He tapped it enough times to get it to fall.
Picks up hammer and keeps taping
It would help if you include the quantity of the other ingredients such as sugar and flour!!!!
Cooking would be such the perfect activity if it wasnt for those damn dishes!!!!
Félix right.
The perfection and attention to detail is amazing. I wouldn't have dusted that mold to drop off the excess flour, but he did! PERFECTION.
Thanks. Do you know how i can get the measurement of the ingredients for this recipe.
3 egg... 250g butter...... 100g R.fl.... and 20g poppy ok
siddharth kumar can i used regular flour?
Please tell me he didn't just say "Expresso"......Gordon I expected more from you! -_-
It's both he just used the French version of the word rather then the Italian version
It's scripted
I dont think there would be a Gordon Ramsay if it wasn't for butter. It's amazing how it is used in every single recipe!
In addition to great cooking, I consistently enjoy the different music choices that accompany the videos.
A link to the music would be welcomed with much gratitude!
Is there anyway you could put the ingredients in the description for quick reference? Thank you!
"They called it nipple" -Gordon Ramsay
Where might I find the proper measurement of the ingredients for this recipe? I'm really looking forward to giving this a try!
4:27 DAMN that was satisfying to watch!! especially when you see the clean spotless tray after they all fall out
Mr. Ramsay putting free videos for us on RUclips... good work man!
Guys, just google Lemon + Poppy Seed Madeleines and you should find a website with measurements and ingredients
I found this and it seems pretty close: recipeyum.com.au/lemon-poppy-seed-madeleines/
These are very good! Made them today (without a madeleines tin), and the whole family loved them! Thanks Gordon!
Grapes are the main ingredient into making wine because they ferment with other ingredients. However, Poppy seeds you can pick off the plant and can smoke.
Name of song towards the end? 4:10
at 4:01, he said "180 degrees" "for ten minutes" while looking down as if reading a note or something that was on the stove or floor, did anyone else catch that?
I'm sure this is his only video without
Salt
Pepper
Olive oil
Soup right.
4:06 When you don't know what to say
I tried to make a Madeleine but I lost it in Portugal.
William Mackie Not cool
Would these be eaten on their own, or served with some form of topping, like syrup for example? Or would that be up to the discretion of the one consuming the dish?
I've tried this recipe and I love it
how many eggs are you supposed to use? The vid shows him cracking three but it cuts a couple of times so I wasn't sure if that was exact or not
+Miles McCoy it's 3. usually that's max you need for baking
sweet, thx for replying
out of curiosity how much sugar did you use?
+tetsuya no yoroi I'd think 2/3 of a cup. I'm sure Gordon has this recipe online. I can get back to you if I can find it
Great demonstration! Thank you for sharing!
why is this so fun to watch?
because it's gordon ramsay. ha!
Meghan Chin indeed
thanks alot chef you're always making things look simple
Sick beats at 3:31
It is funny that Gordon freaked out in his Great escape to India when someone uses poppy seed on their curry. Now, he's using it himself. He's finally learned.
Where is the lamb sauce?
MrYoumitube ninooooo has it
MrYoumitube you fucking donut
your comment is old and lame and unoriginal .
Chef it wud nice to see recipe at the end!
can you subsitute with gluten free flour ?
Gordon's so chill in this video. Had a few poppy seeds before the show?
The mixture on it's own looks quite good.
I love the way he explains how to mix those eggs... if i mixed them like he does, they would be all around the kitchen :D
those look absolutely amazing.will be making in the future
what are your thoughts on ball whisks for aerating?
i would expect the best hd quality vids on this channel
I love these videos! Would love to see some more dessert ones! :D
I used 3 Eggs, 80g sugar, 80g flour, 75g butter. I did not use the Poppy seeds (Don't like) and I put in orange in place of Lemon any Citrus would do I'm sure?
how long will these store in an airtight container...

If I have no poppy seeds, what is a good replacement? // At what temperature should I pre-heat my oven?
Y las cantidades de la receta de magdalenas......????
Dónde está??????
Delicious. If only I wasn't watching these videos at 2 A.M.... I'd love be able to make some now!
1:04 damn that speed
What are the measurements for the butter, sugar and flour?
INGREDIENTS:
Butter 100 g
Sugar 5 tablespoons
3 eggs
Self-raising flour 200 g
Poppy seeds 20 g
Lemon zest
Source: gordonrumsay.com/lemon-poppy-seed-madeleines
Are there full recipe details?
*le Gordan*
Stirs salt in water for some seconds. Finishes stiring, takes water in spoon.
Gordan:- BEAUTIFUL!!
Where I can get written recipe?how many sugar or flour do I need?
you can see Ramsay pour a lot of passion into the food. let the food do the talking.
if u've been to malaysia u notice a traditional pastry name 'bahulu' that actually like a twin to the french madelenies, with just a bit different.....
can you freeze the mixture and possibly the Madeleine as well?
You could frezze the Madeleines when they are cooked and cooled down. But you cant freeze the mixture. :(
Looks amazing, delicious and easy to get done. But I'm not good with proportions/measure... I'd love to know for example, how much of butter, how much of sugar.
As much as you like.
Looks yummier than madeleines Ive made before. Will try this. Might be nicer than Croque Madame all the time when Im feeling like enjoying a taste of Europe. I miss Europe.
@ 4:18
How many copper pans and pots does he need? That's insane
it took me a few seconds to realize the tumbnail wasn't just a bunch of almonds
whats the song you hear well at 4:10 ?
+Gregory Beukers Sandstorm- Darude
What does exactly do the poppy seeds? I’ve never tried them, it is about texture or flavor or what?
Can anyone tell the brand of the air tight glass containers that he uses? They are so nice looking.
3:50 "Lovely...fill it up to the top...*moans* beautiful." this sounds like something else lol
If you have a rubber French Madeline mould how do you still get the definition of the shell like features?
When you leave the mixture over night do you refrigerate it?
Of course. There are raw eggs in it.
buenísimas tus recetas... veo todos tus programas por foxlife aquí en mexico xDD... sigue así.. y que bueno que ahora estés en youtube ^^
these look gorgeous. gonna watch this on c4.
3:24 that white powdery line reminds me of something...
What are the quantities of the sugar, flour etc.
Thank you I've been lookn for a proper Madeleine tutorial.
Say what you want about this guy but compared to other video chefs his cooking techniques are excellent
I love how Ramsay Says;Beautiful......Lovely........Nice
Lovely recipe, but where do we get the measurements?
Little known fact, Gordon isn't even a man, he actually identifies as a filet mingon steak cooked medium rare.
The Narrator lol. That was a good one.
4:32
Awesome
Where can I get this baking mold at? Thanks.
How can he whisk eggs so good I can't even whisk an egg at all
How much Sugar and Flour did he add as sometimes he says and sometimes he doesn't.
Mine are In the fridge ready to go for tomorrow I cant wait!
That's not a stupid question lol but yeah it's 355F and 180C (depending on what system you use.) Hope your batch comes out delicious!
Wow, these look sensational! Trying these tomorrow morning!
Smashing! This is absolutley delicious!
How much time to cake formation ?
I am not sure if this is a dumb question? When he says 180 degrees, is he talking about Celsius or Fahrenheit?
Celsius :) british
Celsius, he's British
