I once was looking for a place to rent because I was homeless and I found this nice place (was a scam) and I explained to the “owner” that I’m very poor and I hope it’s not a scam and he said “ma’am I would never scam you” anyways he wanted $900 for the first month rent but I realized it was a scam cuz I reverse searched the images and then confronted him about it and he got mad. Even after explaining to him that I’m homeless and don’t have much money he still tried to scam me. People are just rude

J B is one of the best narrators while also being so dedicated to this cause for virtually no payback (notwithstanding youtube adsense revenue etc.) Some youtubers just call them and prank them which is good as in keeping them busy from real victims but as far as actually making a difference JB is the only one on RUclips. And Karl Rock is just a special agent on the field doing the physical aspect. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that JB would collab with Karl . Just perfect. I wish i can afford being a patron but i do my best by sharing the vids and watching full ads etc

I remember my mother and her siblings constantly having to explain to my grandfather how these scams worked. He was lucky enough to never fall for one and now that his dementia has worsened he no longer knows how to operate a phone or computer and has 24/7 nursing care. To take advantage of an old man in cognitive decline is just so sick. You do a lot of good here.
It really hurts the heart to see that people in those conditions aren't safe from the scum of the earth like scammers. I don't know or see how people can sleep at night after taking advantage of someone with that serious of a condition.

There is no job interview. These are no skill jobs based off a script and they post ads for it stating that and claiming to be tech support as well as by word of mouth.
For anyone wondering, the police did catch them. BBC and panorama released news and statements, including Times Of India. Im not sure if they are jailed yet, but investigation is going on. Man did a great job! Thank you.

I certainly don't have the skills to do what he does, but if I receive these calls I make a point of wasteing as much of their time as possible, with them on speaker phone while I am working as you don't even have to pay attension to what they are saying just interceed when they are about to hang up. I work on the premise that while they are trying to scam me they are not ruining someones life like the poor lady on the call. It actually can be fun if I am just doing a bit of admin and are able to actually pay attension, as you can amuse yourself with saying things that will make them really excited like saying you are really old and only use the computer for bankingetc, giving them fake passwords etc. The only rule is never let them connect to your computer unless you understand how to protect yourself which I don't, but fake incompetance can usally waste at least 15mins of their day.

Nothing is going down. They have been doing this for decades, and they will continue to do so. And it´s not a syndicate, there are literally tens of thousands of these "companies" that have nothing to do with one another, they just know how easy it is to put together a scam center and how uneducated people are in "1st world countries". The sure tell of a liar is someone who asks “ok?” after every sentence. It’s like they’re subconsciously testing to see if you believed what they just said. These scammers say it constantly.
It's called the TTT method, TTT being Taking The Temperature, I worked in sales and it's to see if the client is getting buy-in to you, "does that sound good?" Etc, its to gauge their inner thoughts.
As someone who has worked in a real call center I find this extremely horrendous. There is no protocol to be followed, the poor skills are just irritating, the lack of courtesy is repulsive. I am glad I used to alert my customers of these online scams, by advising to always call on the official number and never call an unknown number, no matter how scared or nervous they get.
And then people like the old lady will call, so you’ll choose, are you gonna be human, or just want to scam without a soul. That way there are 2 endings. The good one and the bad one
Yep, I had a run in with Faremart once, and they did just that: make you call to confirm the payment and then they increase the charge. The agent said that other websites were overbooking planes, and I would only be guaranteed a seat if I booked through them. Luckily it was easy to cancel the ticket and charge in my case once I called them out on that garbage
Hey Jim! The OTP usually only works with Indian numbers. Back when I went to India, I had the same issue with other things requiring OTPs, until I switched over to an Indian number. It could also be that they are just too occupied with crimes happening to their own citizens that they don't dedicate time or resources to stopping these scammers whose victims are primarily outside of their country... I'm not defending that mindset, but the more I think about it- I'm sure that is at least part of the reason that these scammers go unstopped. I'm sure there is some level of corruption too, but I don't think they are all corrupt

I certainly don't have the skills to do what he does, but if I receive these calls I make a point of wasteing as much of their time as possible, with them on speaker phone while I am working as you don't even have to pay attension to what they are saying just interceed when they are about to hang up. I work on the premise that while they are trying to scam me they are not ruining someones life like the poor lady on the call. It actually can be fun if I am just doing a bit of admin and are able to actually pay attension, as you can amuse yourself with saying things that will make them really excited like saying you are really old and only use the computer for bankingetc, giving them fake passwords etc. The only rule is never let them connect to your computer unless you understand how to protect yourself which I don't, but fake incompetance can usally waste at least 15mins of their day.

That kind woman who's diabetic, has multiple sclerosis and is legally blind just broke my heart. I have Type 1 Diabetes, P-ANCA, and my eyesight gets worse year after year. I can understand part of her pain, but it makes me absolutely devastated and disgusted that scammers target people who can't help themselves. It's bad enough scamming perfectly healthy people, but trying to steal money from people with major health issues or older folks who don't know any better? They need that money to LIVE. As someone who has worked in a real call center I find this extremely horrendous. There is no protocol to be followed, the poor skills are just irritating, the lack of courtesy is repulsive. I am glad I used to alert my customers of these online scams, by advising to always call on the official number and never call an unknown number, no matter how scared or nervous they get.

Yep, I had a run in with Faremart once, and they did just that: make you call to confirm the payment and then they increase the charge. The agent said that other websites were overbooking planes, and I would only be guaranteed a seat if I booked through them. Luckily it was easy to cancel the ticket and charge in my case once I called them out on that garbage
Hey Jim! The OTP usually only works with Indian numbers. Back when I went to India, I had the same issue with other things requiring OTPs, until I switched over to an Indian number. I think it has to do with their service not supporting foreign numbers due to fees.

That is a sad reality in my country...they are hand in glove with scammers 😢
It could also be that they are just too occupied with crimes happening to their own citizens that they don't dedicate time or resources to stopping these scammers whose victims are primarily outside of their country... I'm not defending that mindset, but the more I think about it- I'm sure that is at least part of the reason that these scammers go unstopped. I'm sure there is some level of corruption too, but I don't think they are all corrupt
