I was scammed out of £200 a couple of years ago, £200 I had saved for Christmas presents. It’s an awful feeling and I never want to go through that again. Hats off to you Sir for taking time to point this out to everyone and huge respect for the person that gave the poor guy his money back 🥰💕
Lost $3,000. Bank was no help despite FDIC, police didn't know enough to scratch their uh, heads. Rural cops. Paypal worked great and got back most of my money that had flowed through their system. I changed banks, and received a much better deal.
Am sorry to say but i myself was working in this call center and i quit from first month after i figured out what was goin on .... Their objective is to get most details about someone who had a car accident but their scam is not taking money from you it's taking money that is rightfully yours to themselves ... People who have accidents are due to compensation legally but then this company just goes to the insurance company of the person at fault in the accident and then asks them for the compensation taking it to themselves instead of giving in to the customer or the person who had the actual car accident ..... I am still trying to figure out how to report them since i was working from the inside but it is that they aren't stealing from actual people so people don't report them that's pretty much how they're surviving

They would have no idea, and you would have zero connection to anyone involved making it so easy to get away with. I use Google Drive, and while I suppose nothing is ever truly secure or foolproof, even their free plan has a lot of space and it's easy to use from multiple devices. I finally broke and got the $2 a month plan a few months ago and that's a crapton of space.
I wish I knew about these scams years ago. My grandfather was a computer man in the Army. Even in his 80s he had a FB page and was always on the computer. In his later years he was always on the phone with these people. I just asked my mom if he would pay for "tech support". She just started crying. I guess he spent a large amount of money on these scams. Thank you for the work you are doing.
When i used to get such popups, emails, messages i blindly ignored them, smiling at how could these stupid things fool a person. Never realized that real people do get trapped and are scammed of their hard earned money. You are doing a very great job Jim. They are also getting hardworking and genuine IT and call centre Indian employees a bad name and should be cleaned up.

@@M1XED17 you know I fell a victim once myself to this exact same scam.. the problem with mine was I was talking to a lovely sounding girl and fell for her innocent voice.. I gave her remote access but then when she "transferred" the call to her senior tekneeshun who was a guy, my dad asked him where he's calling from but he kept avoiding the question and tried to divert our attention by reading more script.. my dad was beside me and was suspicious the whole time.. after he kept asking the location they were calling from the scammer somehow gave up and disconnected the remote viewer as well as the call.. luckily for me our computer didn't get syskey'd otherwise my dad would have kicked my ass since i didn't listen to him from the get go when he told me not to give the female scammer access to our computer.. I dunno if they installed any spyware but we still had to factory reset after that.

Please buy an external harddrive and back up some and/or back up some to a free cloud drive. Better safe than sorry
I use Google Drive, and while I suppose nothing is ever truly secure or foolproof, even their free plan has a lot of space and it's easy to use from multiple devices. I finally broke and got the $2 a month plan a few months ago and that's a crapton of space.

I prevent such situation by annually back-up my files on cloud storage. I use my campus' gmail service because the drive is unlimited
Back them up on a USB or an external hard drive
I wish I knew about these scams years ago. My grandfather was a computer man in the Army. Even in his 80s he had a FB page and was always on the computer. In his later years he was always on the phone with these people. I just asked my mom if he would pay for "tech support". She just started crying. I guess he spent a large amount of money on these scams.

When i used to get such popups, emails, messages i blindly ignored them, smiling at how could these stupid things fool a person. Never realized that real people do get trapped and are scammed of their hard earned money.

@@M1XED17 you know I fell a victim once myself to this exact same scam.. the problem with mine was I was talking to a lovely sounding girl and fell for her innocent voice.. I gave her remote access but then when she "transferred" the call to her senior tekneeshun who was a guy, my dad asked him where he's calling from but he kept avoiding the question and tried to divert our attention by reading more script.. my dad was beside me and was suspicious the whole time.. after he kept asking the location they were calling from the scammer somehow gave up and disconnected the remote viewer as well as the call.. luckily for me our computer didn't get syskey'd otherwise my dad would have kicked my ass since i didn't listen to him from the get go when he told me not to give the female scammer access to our computer.. I dunno if they installed any spyware but we still had to factory reset after that.
