This has been my favorite top 10 list on your channel so far. The fact that you included Mother from La Mulana makes me happy.

I didnt like Deaths Gambit: Afterlife but man Thalamus was such a magnificently evil bastard and was easily the highlight of the game.

    I love Nyarlathotep from Sundered!
It was so cool to realize who the entity that was ound to you truly is.

I’ve got 2 that you passed over that I couldn’t imagine keeping off my top 10:
Risky Boots from Shantae, and Barma’thething from the Picnic Panic DLC for The Messenger.

Risky was considered but barely missed out

the Pirate Master is a good one too. Doesn't show up for long, but he has a p r e s e n c e and awesome design. Risky probably wouldn't be where she is without him.

What is a man? A miserable little pile of secrets.

Oh wow, *Grime* and *Shidra* on here! That's very interesting! Love that game!
I'm a bit more sympatethic to Shidra. I've seen people say that he wants to hold on to power and thus letting the world around him suffer, which I can see.
Such an element may be at play, but for me there is enough evidence to state that he is quite genuinely parental and protective outside of the idea of having power. He may put Akhlan in a prison, but does give him the offer of a new body to keep on existing. If you decline, he states that he will fight for every moment that their world is allowed to exist for as long as he can. And at the end, he does not scramble for mercy or lament how his reign has come to an end, but expresses sad gratitude for the length that Akhlan has allowed the world to exist, "More so than most".
For me, such words and actions exude a dignified resignation, and I believe that he could not have mustered that if he truly cared about extending his power alone.
Man's afraid of inevitability. If not through Akhlan, then through the slow decay of the world itself.
The Coda on the other side of the wall are much more bittersweet in comparison. Their culture may not survive, but there is a chance that their destroyer may retain enough sapience to remember them.
And thus the Final Performance, and the splendor of their culture and city and individual achievements, is an all-out effort of an entire culture over untold periods of time to make as much of an impression on their destroyer, to still "survive" in ways less tangible, but yet more dignified than what Shidra hoped to achieve.
Though one can make an argument on the case of the Coda that they have fetishized celebrating the end of everything to a horrifying degree. As shown as an NPC who seems to go mad when you break his art pieces.
IN ANY CASE, i liked Grime. Glad you did as well. At this very moment i'm listening to the OST again and I hope the sequel may end up good as well.

Eseus from Afterimage is the best answer I can think of that's absent, but you need a PhD in archaeology to put together all the fragments in this game to understand wth is happening and fully appreciate it.
Oxy from 8Doors is but drives the plot pretty well. (I've never heard you once mention 8Doors. It's not top tier, but it's worth a look.)

      Truth about Afterimage’s story 😆
8Doors is really good. I’ll eventually get around to making a vid on it.

Thalamus in heroic is one of the hardest bosses ive fought in any game. And ive played sekiro, team ninja games, lies of p, blasphemous etc. Ash is also a great villain in deaths gambit. Its even harder lol. But thalamus is just a bad ass and the fact that theathens the player is hilarious.
