Ender Lilies is my favorite Metroidvania of all time closely followed by Hollow Knight. The OST and story are absolutely beautiful. I can not wait for the sequel! The hand drawn graphics are very unique as well. I prefer the hand drawn of pixelated any day! The boss fights blew me away also! Awesome music atmosphere, and a decent challenge, while not being obnoxiously difficult. I actually learned about it through a Rusty video. It was so under marketed no one knew about it, including us Metroidvania lovers. I listened to the OST for weeks after finishing the game. Played it through a couple days doing everything in the map. The sequel Ender Magnolia is in early access. As I’m a console player I’ll be waiting for the full release. Honest to God though I am looking forward to this as much, if not more than Silksong. This year Nine Sols has jumped up close behind Ender Lilies and Hollow Knight.

This looks like the epitome of a hidden gem! I'm drawn to the chunky pixel art, and "easy bosses" while a negative for most people, is music to my ears. Now I just gotta play it before they patch the bosses and make 'em harder!

Im really glad to hear that this game has actual depth and content. I really enjoyed its predecessors, but neither of them would’ve been worth more than a couple dollars if they hadn’t been free. $9 for the followup was a bit worrying.

Afterimage is just way too big for my liking got it on sale I thiiiiink I'm near the end but I need to get all the glyphs and stuff for the endings and the memory shards but Im looking at this stupid big map that's filled in and still being told there's 10% of area left gonna have to bow out for now on it maybe come back to wrap up later but definitely not a metroidvania for me

Good news!! They fixed new game plus!! (Well kind of) Now you get to keep most of your gear and upgrades wheb starting a new round (All three weapons with their corresponding upgrades, your healing flasks, prayers, max HP and Fervor you got on the last game, etc) You don't keep the special abilities though (Double jump, aeral dash, etc) but I think that's fair, otherwise we would finish the game in less than 2 hours

I am definitely looking forward to Mandragora the most followed by Ender Lilies. The map really ruined the first game for me

This game was difficult to the point of not being fun anymore. Blasphemous, the last faith, grime, deaths gambit are all hard but fun, nine sols was not... There were so many lingering hitboxes on enemy attacks that hit you after they've passed and enemy attacks are relentless. How tf do you detonate a talisman if they attack you nonstop? The bow is op af but it's not enough to level the playing field so you're just getting bodied left and right. I lowered the difficulty three times between the start & end and still found it to be challenging. I cannot imagine how hard someone must hate themselves to sit through this on default. The bosses are also just not fun, only the centaur and that one saddistic asshole were fun fights but the others, especially that dream eternal lady were just confusing. I kept hitting clones that looked exactly the same and dealing no damage while she kept running away. Frustrating, obtuse and not fun. And some mini bosses are ridiculous too, i just came back later with an upgraded bow to dispose them because they weren't fun. Skill issue yeah but idc i like hard games that feel good, this one didn't especially with that corpse running that i quickly modded out. Then there's the story which was just boring. None of the characters are likeable other than the monk robot and yi's sister. Yi himself is a dick, shuanshuan is a ridiculously naive kid, both fatties are stubborn idiots and the villains are all stereotypes. The whole twist is so obvious and as a whole the game is not impressive narratively. I've never seen a metroidvania use this much dialogue and still fail to deliver a captivating story. Either use a lot of words for a cool story like blasphemous/death's gambit, or very few for an also cool story like grime/ender lillies. I also like you didn't like the music. It was so weird and unpleasant to hear. Only the more tranquil classic melodies like the four seasons pavilion were enjoyable. It's not all bad though as the visuals are pretty, not as good as the best in the genre like Ori, blasphemous or afterimage but still great. Platforming was also incredibly fun and that one vertical level under the city was my favorite area in the game. The level design is also perfect all around, easily in my top 10 metroidvania maps and the reason i enjoyed this game in the end. Story music and combat didn't do it for me but exploration visuals and platforming certainly did. I wish i could've played it normak difficulty but that would've taken too long. In the end i beat most of this game on 66% dmg taken and 130% dealt but for some bosses those numbers changed a fair bit. There was one mini boss i died to when he was almost dead 4 times in half an hour before i put dmg dealt to 1000% and instagibbed him with the bow. Fuck you apeman area mini boss 😊

Most anticipated is probably Mariachi Legends.

Couldn't finish Ender Lilies, bosses were way too tough. Maybe I'll give it another shot next year.

I finally bought it and what a mistake.Horrible game and terrible metroidvania,one of the worst I played.Very short,horrible map,no sensations in battles,bosses are a joke,save your money don t buy this.

The Messenger's expo dump being a negative for you (or maybe just neutral) makes sense why you don't think so highly of it. It's not something I can explain personally, except to say that if they hadn't done the big reveal the way they did, I myself would not rate it as highly as I did. It was one of those novel and unmatched moments in gaming for me, I thoroughly enjoyed it. But I'm a sucker for surprises. That being said, your other points about the gameplay I can relate to, and it's not a flawless gem.

Had most of them already wishlisted but Tearscape and Death Machine slipped through my radar so far, so thanks for highlighting them. Can't wait to play all of these next year alongside Silksong, because we all know that 2025 will be the year. Surely. Most definitely. Yup. It's coming out right alongside Metroid Prime 4 which also most definitely isn't going to be delayed again. Yeah. Certainly not.

The devs have listened to feedback and now patched the fast travel system! Upgrades are unlimited, and the new upgrades let you fast travel from the menu.

That Bloodborne Zelda game is the game I never knew I needed

Not sure when you wrought the script for this, but like 2 weeks ago the dev for Rune Fencer Illyia announced on Kickstarter that they're pretty confident in releasing next year. As someone who's had that game near the top of his list for 3 years, I'm super excited for it.
