Great video. I did the tour when I picked up my R1T. Great to see a lot of trucks and delivery vans. This is the beginning of the ramp. Rivian had a q1 goal of 2500 but they need that monthly to hit their 2022 goal of 25,000. Plant can do 150,000. So things were moving too slow, to many people not enough robots. Going to have to make some big changes to be competitive in the long run. Excited to see them progress and I wish them the best of luck. BTW the R1T is a technical marvel and I am very happy with the one I got.
Man... all the negative comments about Rivian here. We are a year later and they're making money and slowly moving towards being profitable. tldr; the critics are wrong. I think Rivian is going to be successful in a big way.

There was a little glimpse of a R1S at the end of your video. That was looking so good. El Capitan and Forest green are my two choices I just can’t decide on….and the few seconds you had it on screen just made my choice even harder.
One person watched each corner as the gantry lowered the body, which was standard for starting a new process. Once trained thoroughly, those people will probably go on to other shifts or assembly lines. A little early to judge efficiency off of one video.

This Rivian factory looks old, slow and inefficiencies everywhere compared to Tesla Giga factories. Is this the competition Wall Street is begging for to take down Tesla? I would not accept one of these trucks if it were free, good grief. The product is over 8000lbs with a truck bed less than 6 feet, it's a joke just a shiny new toy too show off too the neighbors.
The Illinois factory is a former Mitsubishi factory. I was surprised when I learned this because you’d think they’d build the machine that builds the machine from scratch like Tesla do. I did not expect a well capitalised and long pre-IPO lived Rivian to be using a refurbished factory. That’s so amateur and must have built in inefficiency
They will go broke before that. A lot of big car markers are going to release their EV product lines soon. With their capital and factory, Rivian will be die in the tough market. They're in Tesla situation 5-8 years ago. If Toyota, Honda, Subaru, Fiat, Volvo, etc took EV seriously sooner, Tesla wouldn't have the current result. Any EV start-ups will be died in competitive markets. No EV start-ups had advance/unique technology.
Did you see where they are spending enough money to warrant charging out of this world prices for this new upstart car? I ruled it out immediately once I saw the huge price! And ansy sign of a non BUTT UGLY grille in the future? That is a no check mark on and otherwise OK vehicle.
They do plan to make lower cost vehicles out of their Georgia plant. However, pretty sure their grill is not their thing (like BMW’s is theirs) so chances are you won’t like those either. I can’t say that was the 1 thing I would have changed when it was 1st reveled. However, it’s kind of growing on me.

Well guess you won’t be buying yourself an etruck from any manufacturer then…they’re all in roughly the same price range
