I really appreciate you posting this video. I’m in Commercial HVAC and was looking to purchase this meter but was hesitant after hearing about all the wireless problems and integration with the app. Jon-
Nice vid, thanks. I also just bought a SC680 , coming from an old SC77 model, it’s a massive upgrade! It has saved me so much time and headache diagnosing mini split inverter systems and I love the molex test leads.
Years ago I tried 1 Fiedpiece meter, and never again! You have to pony up a few $$$ for that meter and to have so many bad out of the box for one of the most important tools in your bag! I'll stick with tried and true! Thanks for the video.
I hear that, wanted to give this one a shot since seemed to pack quite a few features into one device and so many guys seem to love them. But after all this I know this won’t be the go to meter in my tool bag.
My underline portion of the serial number is 0171 and like I said in your other video I’ve had no issues so hopefully it’s just a handful of meters and they stand behind their product. Warranty and customer service has always been top notch to me
And your serial number is pretty close so kinda throws out my theory/guess of the early production possibly having issues. Who knows. Like you said, hopefully just a handful of meters and it’s sorted out now
That's the great thing about Fieldpiece, they stand behind their warranty & they even pay the the shipping. You will NOT get that kind of service from Fluke.
I'm glad they took care of it for you. They have all been working from home there in California too, but they are still taking care of business & their customers.
Thanx for the awesome videos bro. I don't have any amp readings with wireless on like yours did without testing anything. But just got this meter and going to test it out soon on some equipment.
I like mine but I just want a setting for Amps like my 902FC. I can quickly take the reading and be done. On my SC680 for some reason o have a hard time trusting the amp reading. Idk why. Maybe it’s just my trust in Fluke.
I'd like to get my hands on the Redfish 550 to try it out. If you are wanting to use with MQ get the 550 as the SC680 does not work with MQ at this time. I'm assuming it will at some point, but who knows when.

Thanks to your video I just now found the same issue with my three day old SC680. It’s going back. April 23, 2022

Right on glad yours is working well for you. I really like the molex leads. Basically a must have anymore

I just bought one for the power factor ability, and vfd frequency, and had no issues
Interested to see a review on the UEi DL 599, and on honest and apparently unbiased thoughts

Yea I reached out to their warranty department, they were super fast to get me a replacement. Great customer service.

I just bought one last week and haven’t had any issues.
Good deal. Hopefully just a bad batch

Right on! Hopefully they’ve fixed it and you have no issues
Good news. Was looking to pick one up. Thanks for the update.
Nice video and update, sir. I’m still use mine old 620 and will upgrade to this 680 soon thanks for sharing with us ! 👍
Right on! Thanks for checking it out!

Im looking at this meter or the Redfish 550,

I have both, I really wanted to like the red fish meter but have been a lot happier so far with the fieldpiece.
Can you read thermopile and thermocouple with this metet
I GOTTA CHECK MINE
Yeah you do! Hopefully it’s all good!
Awesome!
Can it do more than 600v
Nice!
If only the temp probes worked for refer measurements
Man I really want that meter now !
Should probably just get one 😂 👍
They probably did a firmware update before they sent it to you. No telling how many people have the same problem and dont even know it.
I agree which is why I wanted to make the video.
@@HVACToolReview and two amps would be a bid deal on some things like a small condenser fan motor.
Disregard the comment from the last video lol. Question answered thanks
