I'm between this and the Z1R, i'm dying having to choose one over the other. While the Z1R is amazing, I think the Mest MK2 seems like the summit when it comes to clarity and detail.
They are both very different, but to be fair, you can’t go wrong even in 2023 But I highly recommend looking on the used market. If your region allows you might be able to buy both for the same money.
@@ConvinceMeAudio Cool! What are your personal experiences with both? I'm coming from a Olina SE (which I love) and basically listen mostly to Rock. I'm not that much of a basshead and that's why i'm a little afraid to pull the trigger on the Z1R.

Welcome to the fam Music tech is your best bet mate. Sick to death of frequency response reviews most of the time told by people who can’t even analyse and convey in a consistent manner that makes any sense to the viewer Not my thing, glad you enjoyed the review
Rather exceptional, absolutely no bleed across the frequency band. These are a little more warm and very very tiny amount thick sounding, but in a very good weighty way and with no congestion. The crossover has been reworked, and now it’s a perfect blend I was very surprised.
@ConvinceMeAudio How do they do with violins? As you know violins are very demanding of the tweeter when they go in high notes. You mentioned they are smooth in highs, but do they have the sparkle, extension needed for violins?
They provide a beautiful textual overlay Treble is tilting, so there might be other units that are more reference and lifelike, But the experience was lovely genuinely, though a little unique to be fair
It’s not too bad actually In the base region more of a subwoofer -esque presentation softer edge of attack I remember detail in the treble region been quite laid-back it’s very difficult to give you immediate response seen as these left the studio a year ago But I am getting a pair of custom variants not too far away, and not in the too distant future, and I will come back to this,
