Great review, thank you mate. I’ve owned my P9s’ for a fair few years now and love them. I live in rural Australia so have no access to any competent audio dealer to try my next headphones. I’ve a significant high freq loss (ex military) and keep looking on You Tube, the internet for a real world set of replacement headphones at a real worl price (up to the $2500 AU mark?) for when these eventually break. I was using a Cambridge DAC Magic but it died, so power them from a Chord Hugo 2 now. My current set up suits me and my needs, finances and every time I wear the P9s’ I feel it’s a treat. What to get next, and I can sell these? Wow, I never thought of that!👍

I have the HA-1A MK2 & got it new for about half the price - $700 equivalent - here in Thailand in a sale. I was happy to spend $1000 max & I bought it about a year ago after research with a lot of tube guys who told me this competed with significantly higher priced models and had the bonus of looking absolutely stunning. I primarily bought it for use with my HD800 & I've used it almost exclusively with those via my Topping DX9. I have 2 pairs of Focals (Stellia & Celestee) and I definitely prefer those on my Sony DMP-Z1 (or even my Mojo 2), as I do my 2 pairs of Kennerton (LSA H1 planar & Magni DD), although the Magni sound quite special on the Cayin, too. That's half the price of this & I think if anyone wants to dip their toes into a very good value tube amp for even less. I'm mostly an IEM guy given I live in Thailand, but I do enjoy my overheads as well. I'd be interested to hear the difference between these two, but I'd be surprised if I loved it significantly more, especially given my primary use of HD800s which I struggle to imagine sounding better on anything else (they sound better on my $700 Cayin than they do my $9000 Sony DMP-Z1!!!). Also - Monstercat - enough!!! 😅😅😅 - I'll send you a playlist of excellent, mature dnb that is musically & sonically far better.

I love your video ! I own the meze 99 classics, I have owned them for 5 years and the only thing I didn’t like was their ear pads were too small! I purchased the large brainwave sheepskin ear pads and I fell in love with the comfort! I am going to purchase these alba’s ! They look so dam good and comfortable! I own a pair of Linsoul 7Hz Timeless AE, they sound great but they keep falling out of my ears! Can’t wait to see how these feel and sound !

I tried these headphones at Capital Audiofest 2024 by chance. I wasn't looking for them. They just happened to be connected to a Black Ice FX10H that I heard about and wanted to hear. The source was a laptop and the media was a movie, not music. The movie sounded fantastic. All of the rumble was brought to life. If I were a headphone movie watcher I would have purchased a pair. They were that good. I'm not sure I got a true impression of the Black Ice amp, but it and the headphones made that movie sound awesome.

ps. How it suppose to last lifetime when you can already see scratches and dents on the front plate? Or it's just dirty :P

Just took posession of a Feliks Envy. I own the Utopia 22 and currently have the Susvara on demo. Can the Elite compete? I can't decide between the Utopia and Susvara. Think I need a middle ground as Utopia seem more engaging but Susvara more comfortable.

for the mojo(2)/poly combination. you do have audio output for configuration. You need headphones plugged in and use the provided SD card eject tool. It has to be inserted it into the small hole below the SDcard slot labeled Config. Not super user friendly but it is there. A button would have been great like the 2GO.

I hope you try the ModWright Analog Bridge tube buffer. It allows you to add super transparent tube sound to any system. I use mine (balanced) with Sophia Electric Blue Glass 6SN7 Tubes and Sophia Electric Aqua II 274B Rectifier Tube. Wow.

The Woo Audio WA7/WA7e is the most beautiful amp ever designed. This one is high quality and functional, but the WA7 is in another class and deserves to be in a museum. By the way I just spent the week listening to the Shangri La Sr on the WA7e, and while its clearly underpowered for that headphone, it still performs well. Having said that, the Z10e totally blows it away. I also heard the WA33 electrostatic next to the Z10e at CanJam and the WooAudio is clean and analytical, where as the Z10e is clean and sweet sounding. Same detail level on the Audizee CRBN2 which is the headphone I was A/Bing both amps with. The WooAudio house sound is clean and analytical basically a solid state sounding amp with tubes. You get a touch of tube sparkle and a tube holographic soundstage with the WooAudio without any of the typical cliched tube warmth. It’s dead neutral sounding.
