  • The NHL Draft Lottery came and went, and after all the dust has settled... nothing changed. The Anaheim Ducks retained their #3 overall pick in this year's NHL Draft. JD Hernandez talks about the lottery, and some of the previous picks the Ducks have gotten in the top-3 in franchise history. Also, we look at a couple names the Ducks should keep an eye on, including Artyom Levshunov, with that third pick. Also, the Canucks/Oilers series has some major implications to the Ducks' other 1st round pick. Could that pick from 24th all the way to 32nd?

    Will be happy if they pick any of the top 10 except Silayev. Yes he's tall and pretty good defense but Ducks still need more offense and need a defender who can help netting or assisting goals both in regular play and power play , and that absolute is not Silayev. Just afraid because we all know PVB always has his height beer goggles on.
    Hell would even be happy with trading down few picks and taking Catton.

    Let's take this as a win..3rd overall pick is still a top pick regardless how you look at it. Ducks are stacked with young talent..Ducks got Cutter Gauthier a former 5th Overall pick I mean and we get a 3rd overall..so in all Ducks got 4 players in the top 5!

    Hey, the Ducks didn't fall in the draft as they so often do... That being said, third is fantastic! Yeah, Celebrini would have been nice but the Ducks are literally loaded with future all-star centers. Picking at third guarantees the Ducks either Lindstrom, Silayev or Levshunov! Size AND skill with those players! Exactly what Verbeek wants and what will bring the cup back to Anaheim! Go Ducks!

    I mean they were 6 times more likely to draft 4/5 than they were to draft 1st. They were expected to stay in the Top 3 less than 1/3 of the time. Staying at #3 was against the odds and they were able to do so. For anyone to be salty of this result is embarrassing, its math people!

    Perrault and Tracey were horrible picks. Instead of Gaucher, Ducks could have picked Snuggerud. We have had some bad late round picks recently.

    Only Cup that needs to be raised is over Ducks Players, end of story.

    If you have the cash, you get the first round draft pick why do you think teams like the Golden Knights get away with being way over the cap? because they pay off the league else no other team gets away with it but them.

    • @theheez6201
      @theheez6201 25 дней назад

      That is a pretty poor argument. Many other teams have done this, Vegas just happens to do it with a very expensive player and have done it repeatedly. Vegas didn't make the rules, they just happen to play by them right up to the edge of legality. If the league wants to change the rule, it would have a significant impact and probably should be considered.

      @@theheez6201 i’m not saying I’m mad at them for doing that. I’m saying that they use the long-term injured reserve to their advantage that is avoiding going over the cap and then when the players magically come back, they are way over the cap. And not all teams can take advantage of that because they get penalized by the NHL and fined. And as far as the lottery goes, I think it’s rigged in 30 years. Anaheim ducks couldn’t get a first round pick if their life dependent on it. They only gotten a second round pick twice.

    • @theheez6201
      @theheez6201 25 дней назад

      @@Pohunohi except that is not accurate. If any other team did what Vegas has done the last two years, they would get treated exactly the same. Do I think the Vegas team is doing it honestly? No, I too believe they are circumventing the rules and that it should be addressed. But to assert that any other team would get fined is ludicrous.
      As for the Ducks not getting the #1 pick (I assume that's what you meant), they have never had the best odds and math is a thing. How do you think Vancouver, Calgary & Carolina feel? They've been in the league years longer and have never drafted #1 either.
