    Dude you just said what ive been thinking for several years! Im so sick of all the "analysts" that dont watch the ducks at all and think they know how the ducks play and what changes need to be made. I think this team has so much potential, but they need to unlock the potential. This season ive really felt that most of the alternates should be alternates. Let the young guys lead. I dont know who should get the C exactly. I like the idea of Mactavish but hate how many stupid penalties he takes. But he at least has heart and thats what we really need in a leader. Hell just give the C to Gibby! Fantastic video though man. I stumbled across your channel randomly and am so happy to see someone covering the ducks that actually watches them so im definantly subbing!!

    I know the thing that's been annoying me, with how infrequent I've been able to watch games, was the continued overuse of the dump and chase strategy. It worked when they won the cup but as the rest of the league learned that that's all they ever do I noticed the opposing defensemen stopped challenging the puck carrier so they could grab the puck for free behind their net and start their own breakout.

    Terry has stepped up in the past cuz he had to, thankfully some Getzlaf rubbed off on him. McTavish is my pick for Captain, the prince who was promised. Let Leo settle in a bit, we can't have a captain playing half the games. I agree, blow up the team and finish this rebuild. I think Gibson will willingly go to a cup contender for returns for the team. He's probably the biggest trade bait we have. Sucks we're stuck with Killorn, I hope he figures things out real quick. Hopefully Henrique and Vatrano give us a pretty good haul too. We still have lots of cap. Still have great prospects coming up. Own up to the current state of affairs Verbeek, blow it up at the trade deadline.

    What the GM needs to do and the Cronin needs to do are different, but they both TALK about playing tougher. So far, nada. You don’t have to be 6’4” to drive the net and battle for pucks (see Marchand 5’9” scrapper). This team is ALWAYS looking for that beauty shot top corner with no skill forwards other than Vatrano willing to take a hit to get a better chance. This post could go on forever about soft players, but as the coach he needs to set objectives about toughness for the players (not fights). Like Fowler needs credit for 2 hits a game. The forwards need a tip and rebound chance every game. 6 SOG all saved is a terrible stat when it’s just routine for an NHL goalie.
    BTW I saw a replay discussion of the Toronto game and their feed has MPH on shots. Fowler skated in and drilled a slapper (the one Vatrano jumped over). His full power slap shot was 84.9 mph. Didn’t Gudas shoot one over 107 this year? Fowler: get in the gym you are embarrassing yourself.

    Honestly when you showed eakins and how long he was there, it made me sad because I have been watching them for about 1 full year now bought season tickets last year and this year. But they were tanking to get bedard aint no way around it. Eakins shouldve been gone after 3rd season, so seeing how long he was there made it really show they were in a rebuilding phase and knew he had no shot of winning thats why he was kept on for so long. Things are gonna change I hope with all the different management and player developers they have at the ducks now

  • @tofromks
    @tofromks 8 месяцев назад +1

    They simply held on to mediocre players for too long and continue to do so. Silfverberg should have been gone years ago. Max Jones is an AHL player at best yet they continue to hang onto him. Adam Henrique is only slightly above average yet they gave him a marquee player contract. Cam Fowler is soft and being paid #1 defenseman pay. He should have been traded three years ago. And John Gibson has been statistically one of the worst goalies in the league the past few years, yet he’s locked into a longterm contract that is so lucrative for him he’s basically stealing. But the Ducks do have an answer. Raise season ticket prices and draft little guys who are still 180 pounds in their 20s who can’t physically stay on the ice.

    I’m primarily a stars fan with Benn Seguin Robertson Duchene Roope. But I will always be a Ducks fan in a big way. Historically, they’ve had some of the best players to ever step on Ice with Kariya Selanne Niedermayer Getzy and Perry in their younger years, also Beauchemin to name another. But Since that horrendous game 7 vs LA of Selanne’s final game where they screwed the pooch so to speak, they have suffered defensively. I still say that wasn’t Gibsons fault. And over the years nothing has changed. Gibson has literally carried that team at periods of time since his rookie season. Since Getzy and Perry left they have no senior skaters with any leadership capability. Fowler is a joke, I’m sorry. He’s the senior defenseman and now the most senior skater on that team and he has done very little for them. Lindholm and Vatenan were young defenseman that were suppose to build those lines and it just didn’t work. They even tried bringing back Carlyle for two seasons like that was supposed to do something and nothing happened. Bottom line they need to develop this young team that they have and they need a senior defenseman and a senior Solid PWF or PLY someone who can take charge and help their forward lines develop. But yeah neways I agree they need to let go of Fowler. It’s going to be sometime for Anaheim to develop before they can contend in the playoffs and it’s going to take some smart trades as well. Trade Fowler to Vegas and see if they can at least get Martinez. I’d like to see that.

  • @catsroots
    @catsroots 8 месяцев назад

    I agree with a lot of what you said, but, if you were watching, there have been several games lost due to the Refs. How about the Silvferberg goal that was clearly a goal that Toronto and the Refs said no goal. I was at that game, we all saw the replay and it was a goal. We lost by one goal. It is also pretty clear that sometimes the Refs want a certain team to win, maybe they have a bet on the winner, and they seem to target the Ducks even when it is clearly not a penalty. My favorite one was our player got tripped, he fell and immediately jumped up and started playing. The Refs actually called a penalty on the opposing Team, great, right? No, our player got an embellishment penalty. The favoritism is obvious, and even opposing Teams fans often we say, yeah, the Refs are against the Ducks.
    Thank you for acknowledging that John Gibson is a fantastic goaltender. I am in some fan groups that they blame Gibby, which is BS.

    • @gablebrandon
      @gablebrandon 8 месяцев назад

      Better yet, they’ve lost 19 one goal games? So yeah they’re far more competitive than last season. And it’s fun to watch actually cause I know they have a chance to actually win games. LaCombe is objectively awful. Left or right side.
    He flat out, can not skate. That means you can't play in the NHL. He gets outskated into his own zone virtually every single entry. He skates backwards as if he were attached to sandbags hanging in the rafters. His defensive game is bunk. He literally does not have one. Defense to him is intercepting a pass, or maybe blocking a shot. That's it.
    Not to mention he offers nothing offensively. If the only part of your game that's "ok" is 50 feet of neutral ice... you offer nothing to the team.
    Rookie or not, he hasn't figured it out, and I'm not confident he ever will.
    And yet when I say this people just get mad and can't ever offer anything he does well enough to keep a roster spot.

    Oof, I thought you watched the ducks... The main issue cooling off our amazing start were injuries, Zegras, Drysdale, and I think Fowler and McTavish? were all injured for a month, then coming back into it we couldn't get our footing because more injuries accrued. Secondly, once we traded Drysdale, please tell me any good Right handed defensemen on the ducks that can compare to other teams top defenseman pair. We have plenty of defensive prospects but most of them are years away from being good and most of them are all top 4 defensemen at best. The ducks need an elite defensemen. Also, everyone is expecting this team to do amazing and compete but they fail to realize all of our core players are still only 21-22 years of age. Give them time to grow please.
