I’ve always had a huge soft spot for the Sabres, I started following hockey during the Breire and Drury years. It just feels right when they’re competitive. Hoping they finally get things turned around, I like their D core a lot and they have pieces up front, they just always seem to find a way to under-perform. Look at some of the guys that have come through their roster and some of the hot months they’ve had over the past 5 years and you wonder how they haven’t put it together yet.
Thank you for making me feel depressed in the summer time being from Buffalo and a lifelong fan. Great video though, nothing but the truth. Keep it up.
As a Montreal fan, I do want the Sabres to have more success, (I was at the last playoff game between the two teams) 98 was a bad year for Canada already. First we lose to the Dominator, in the Olympics and then Montreal lost to Buffalo, along with 2 other Canadian teams (I think). Man Hasek was incredible and 'that goal' Should not have counted. One thing I am sure of, might actually cheer you up, or at the very least, let you win at Bar trivia ;) In the1998, aforementioned, last Montreal Vs Buffalo playoff gave. It was also the ONLY time, in the history of the Montreal Canadiens, that they were swept, (In a 7 game series) on Home Ice! So, to you and Buffalo, our old Adams Division Rivals, I do hope you guys make the playoffs and keep on winning, (As long as it is not against us ;) Cheers from Montreal Quebec Canada. Et... Bon Chance cette saison.
It’s the Blue Jackets. The only reason we never get mentioned is because we’ve never truly bottomed out before, we’ve just been horribly mediocre for our entire history.
Dominik "The Domininator" Hasek from The Chicago Blackhawks was one of The Biggest Steals of NHL Trades ever. Even though I understand Chicago's Logic, given they had Ed "Eddie The Eagle" Belfour, can you imagine that Chicago Goalie Tandem & what it would have been?
How about twice?!? Kozlov for Hasek to my beloved Red Wings 2002??? Lopsided as it ever gets Although patrice roy to avs for thibalt is near the top as well 😡🤬
The tanking for the McDavid/Eichel draft completely destroyed the team's culture. Before that, they had been at least consistently competitive and had won the regular season best records twice. The front office wasted Eichel while we had him and seems directionless now.😊
As a Canucks fan, I feel like it was Vancouver that was cursed from the day that the Perreault lottery draw went down (And Vancouver was announced as the winner, before the Buffalo GM noticed the wheel pointing not to the number 1, but two 1's stacked to make an 11). The Sabres dominated the league early in their history while the Canucks floundered. I'm glad we somehow passed our curse over to them! 😂
Indeed! It's one of two cities with more than a 100 seasons of participation but no trophies. The other one is San Diego. However, Buffalo isn't the city with the largest # of droughts among the four major professional sports (NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL). Minneapolis is the one, because it has a team in all four major sports. Since their last championship (Twins) in 1991, they have experienced droughts of Twins (31seasons), Vikings (33 seasons), Wild (23 seasons), Timberwolves (33 seasons) plus two more drought seasons of the North Stars for a total of 122 seasons. In the NFL, I only count the Super Bowl era for former AFL teams. Since the first year of the Super Bowl (1966), Buffalo has had experienced droughts of the Bills (58 seasons), Sabres (53 seasons) and the NBA Braves that left town in 1978 (8 seasons), for a total of 119 seasons.
In baseball, it's the Mariners. Imagine being the only franchise that currently hasn't even gone to the World Series and having to watch your divisional rivals go to them and win them. That's some big pain.
Been a Rockies fan since the day they drafted David Nied. Three seasons of 90 or more wins. One NL Pennant thanks to an amazing end-run in 2007. Otherwise a lot of forgettable years and despite a handful of talent now the only question is where will they end up in a few years. I’m a Sabres’ fan by choice (the day Beach’s past came to light I dropped Chicago like the plague) and I have no doubt they have better days ahead. But Colorado has nothing like Buffalo’s past sustained success; if not for expanded Playoffs they’d have never been in them but the one time in over 30 years.
What's a more successful hockey team? A team like the Maple Leafs that has won 1 playoff series in about 10 seasons. Or A team that wins the Stanley Cup 1 season & misses the playoffs entirely the other 9 seasons?
Right up until the end where you say they will have a great forward corps in 24-25, this was fairly well done (though you failed to mention the disastrous signing of Villa Leino). As for the current crop of forwards on this team, I’d have to say the chances of them and the word great being used in a sentence together would improve if the sentence was along the lines of what a great disappointment they are/will be. Hard to believe that based on one season for each (Thompson and Cozens) the team signed their “top” two players to long term 7+’million/year contracts. Neither player has done much beyond their one breakout season, and my guess is one or both will be gone before the end of the 2026 season. In fact, I won’t be at all surprised if the team “blows it up” AGAIN, in the faint hope they can ever become a real professional organization again. Sadly, the current owner has no clue how to build a professional hockey team, so the likelihood of that occurring is very, nay extremely, low.
I was just reading an old THN Draft Preview talking about how the Sabres were flush with high draft picks for the next three years and with some good prospects already in the pipeline, they were on the cusp of becoming a real contender! That magazine was from... 2014. 😂
Yeah, I read 'The same one this year but it was talking about Montreal, in the same manner. LOL I can't wait to see how, MY team screws our great young talent up! Terry Pegula needs to be put on trial for war crimes with the way he's allowed this team to deteriorate into a shallow grave. He owns something like half of all of the Sabres playoff-less seasons during his tenure. FOR THE ENTIRETY OF THE FRANCHISE'S HISTORY.
Peghoulie is a fanboy. No more, no less. And he runs the Sabres from a fan's approach. He has no separate, independent Director of Hockey Operations (DHO)---because he IS the Director! The Sabres are the only NHL franchise without a DHO. And he gutted the scouting department several years ago. It's just a toxic, loser-mentality mess. VERY happy that Connor McDavid is where he is right now. Same goes for Jack Eichel. He wanted out, and I didn't blame him. Who in their right mind would want to play for Peghoulie and Co? 🤣
the video talks a lot about numbers and dollars, but not about the losing culture within the team, the front office turnover, the 10 game winning streak that meant nothing, and the inexplicable lack of consistency from game to game
The only interesting thing to me is that yes the Savoie deal looked bad at the time but he still isn't playing for the Oilers and McLeod somehow looks like one of the best players on our team now?? The Kevyn Adams special is floundering on the obvious trades and maybe making the odd ones look good?
As a Devils fan I am a bit jealous of how well BUF have drafted outside the top 5 in recent years especially opposed to my team, NJ's, success in the same range. Outside of Dawson Mercer, Shakir Mukamadullin and Casey(jury still out), and Jesper Bratt(which seemed like more luck) NJD haven't had a ton of success developing talent outside their top 5 first round picks. Only a handful have even become NHL regulars and, at best, they are bottom 6/4 guys. Yegor Sharangovich is probably the best after Bratt and he had to get traded after a massive regression he couldn't pull out from for him to get back to form. Zacha and Holtz both had to get shipped out. Chase Stillman is a real WTF when guys like Stankoven were still on the board. Meanwhile, BUF seem to have really solid players in guys like Cozens, Quinn, Peterka, Benson, Samuelsson, UPL, and I think they gave up a bit early on Savoie.
Its not that they gave up on Savoie necessarily. Its just that they NEEDED a 3rd line center, especially one who is reliable defensively and can win faceoffs, after the trade of Mittelstadt for Byram. Hence the trade for a younger, though established, decent quality player in McLeod. Plus he fits their continued theme of building a team with overwhelming speed. Not only that but in terms of Savoie, they have a plethora of quality prospects, both who can play center in Kulich, Ostlund, and now Helenius, along with Peyton Krebs who is on the NHL roster but still developing, and both Tage Thompson & Dylan Cozens as young centers signed long term. And they have an abundance of quality winger prospects in Rosen, Wahlberg, Neuchev, Poltapov, while still having Jack Quinn, JJ Peterka, and Zach Benson as top 6 wingers who are all still on ELCs, and Alex Tuch, who they will likely end up retiring in Buffalo. So it wasnt that they gave up on him, they just dont have any place for him in the top 6, he likely would not be the type of player who would be successful playing in the bottom 6, and they have a ton of young fwds still.
Avs fan here. There was more to the Byram/ Mitts trade than meets the eye. Mitts will be a decent #2 C, but it will take time to fit into the complicated game plan that the Avs use. I should imagine that he will be closely tutored by Coach Bednar. Sad to see Byram go, but it is understandable that the Avs wanted him gone considering his head injury history.
Ive always liked the Panthers but After my hometown team started rebuilding, I truely adopted the Panthers and the last two years have just been magical!! FTR I'm from Montreal and since most Montreal Quebecers retire to Florida anyway.... I actually lived there, with my Grand Parents. They owned and operated a fishing pier and Restaurant. I know that doesn't make me an official Floridian but besides Montreal, I haven't spent more time anywhere else! I was even there in 96! 'The Year of the Rat' and still remember the exact bar I was at when Uwe Krupp scored in double, or triple OT. Man, that team may not have been too talented but they still came 4 games from Winning the Cup, in their 3rd? Year of being a franchise! That 96 team, is still one of the most successful, (time to make the final) expansion teams, ever. After St. Louis (finals for their first 3 years) and Vegas! Nuff said So, a late Congratulations to you and all your great Fans!! You guys earned it!! & You deserve it! Still, the oddest finals I've seen with my own EYES! The Sabres have drafted some great players only issue is they've ended up trading so many of them away and those players have thrived elsewhere!? Like Ullmark, Eichel,Zadorov,Compher, and so many others!!? It's crazy how many good players they've drafted but then traded away only to have those players go on to get better and better with other teams!!?
@lilwoodiewood3457 Yes, JT Compher was drafted by Buffalo!! He was taken in 2nd round 35th overall by Buffalo in 2013 Draft!! Maybe u should check Elite Prospects cuz it does say he was drafted by Buffalo! He just never played a game for them! He was a piece in Sabres trade with Colorado for Ryan O'Reilly! It even says in this video that JT Compher was drafted by Buffalo In 2nd round of 2013 draft so clearly u didn't even watch whole video!? Next time u might wanna check and make sure ur actually right b4 u talk!?
You never half step a rebuild. The Sabres had all of these young players and draft picks. And decided to trade them away in the middle of a rebuild. I remember thinking to myself as an outside fan that the Sabres were set up great to have a successful rebuild. Then they decided to "accelerate" it. WTF? Now they are sitting there with the record for longest playoff drought, and I personally think it's because they decided to stop the rebuild in the middle of it. They should have never went into a rebuild if they didn't want to follow all the way through with it. If you do a rebuild, you have to commit to the WHOLE rebuild.
This just seems like sabre hate...browns are easily a worse sports franchise and the leafs have just as bad a legacy, if not worse. And let's not forget the cubs, yes they won it all in 2016 but before that went a 100 years between championships.....
Good thing about Buffalo Sabres is once you play in this team and leave within few years, you are surely about to win Stanley cup with some other team. Sabres are a hilarious joke.
In hindsight, my guess is that the Sabres probably wouldn't have known what to do with McDavid, either, had The Tank turned out the way Murray and the Peghoulies wanted. My guess is that McDavid would be gone from Buffalo by now, but he would've lasted longer than Eichel did. That's what happens when hockey talent goes to the Sabres... it's a toxic environment run by an incompetent fanboy owner. Wayne Gretzky or Mario Lemieux in their respective primes could have played in 2025 Buffalo and wasted their careers here. Seriously...who in their right mind would want to play for the Sabres?
My fandom, having grown up in Dallas and now living in the Bay Area… Sharks: ok, we had our time but now??? Woof. A’s: worst ownership in pro sports. Cowboys: How I loathe Jerry Jones. Mavs: Well, at least I got one right! 😉
I'll be honest. With a click-biting title like this, you were never going to live up to the hype. Which is a parable to the Sabres. So good job there, if intentional. It's tough to define the worst of anyone, or anything. Were you talking about, the last 13 years, then this video was amazing and I learnt a lot and without rubbing it in, crap that's some bad front office moves.
Buffalo Sabres biggest problems is its ownership's lack of dedication and desire to really win. They also own the NFL team Buffalo Bills, and even as they seem to be more interested in that franchise, they just the same lacks what is neded. A owner who is very invested in his team not only truly wants to win BUT more so work hard for aquiring the best people possible to make it happen! The Sabres have had a lot of tallents over the years but very sporadic and never consistent.
Senators suffered the same thing with Eugene Melnyk. Melnyk didn't give a crap about building a competitive team. He didn't even live in Canada. It's sad that he passed away, but it opens the door for better ownership
9:54 God, it is *SO* weird knowing that there’s an NHL Player out there who has the exact same last name as you, despite not even being related to the guy.
Still one of my proudest achievement is winning the Stanley Cup with the Sabres in my online EHM league 😂I had a really goonie team with a lot of hard hitters, maybe they should copy this approach 😂
2 years ago the sabres missed by one point. Who beat them? Florida. covid year when they had a 24 team playoff the canadiens played 3 more games than them and they also made the cup finals. Bad luck.
The Colorado Rockies have to at least be in contention for most pathetic franchise. This is a team whose lone moment of glory is the result of setting an MLB record for wins in a row just to make the playoffs. Other than that, once paid a league rival $50 million to take their best player, act as a farm club for MLB teams who care about winning, and play a pitching-centric sport in a state where it's nearly impossible to pitch well. Brutal.
I know you're trying to make a point, but they lost game 6 in triple overtime and very much went down swinging... It's not as if they were no shows in the finals.
Yeah but Buffalo had the better first draft and initial trades. Vancouver had a good draft but back then, there were some amazingly strong teams. Thats why, for the 67 expansion, they stuck all the new teams in one division, with St. Louis going to the Finals, 3 years straight. Their combined record in the 3 finals, 0 and 12, although all 4 games of the 68 finals were 1 goal games and the 12th loss, sent Bobby Orr from the ice, in to OT, Cup Winning Orrbit ;) So, if we including the 1970 final. You had Montreal, Boston, Chicago, and the Rangers, as TOP teams. The Blues fell off but the Flyers were moving up, in their stead. They all made the Finals at least once, in the 70's, with Montreal, Boston and Philly, all winning at least 2 Cups! Cheers from Montreal Quebec Canada
100% fault lies with the Peghoulies. They really don't know what they're doing. The fanbase is thoroughly alienated. Who in their right mind would want to play for them?
7:00 You need to cut them a little slack, when they lose the lottery twice. Has anyone matched that? On the other hand, if they were tanking and creating a tradition of losing, then they deserve it. Here in Montreal, there were many years we could have/should have gone full rebuild and the fans argued endlessly on talk radio, as to what we should do. I'm not going to claim I was higher the 65%;on the team trading Price and others but the team refused to budge and we would have never received that magical run, that ended 3 wins and a Drouin short but we haven't seen a playoff game since.... It better be worth it...
The Buffalo Sabres... the Seattle Mariners of the NHL (at least the Sabres have made it to the Stanley Cup Finals). Draft tons of talent, only to see that talent have success elsewhere.
Honestly i don't even think Buffalo is the most pathetic franchise in the NHL. In their history they at least had moments of brilliance despite the suffering You cannot say that about Columbus. The Jackets have never even smelled the third round in their history and they have a legacy of high talent players that didn't want to play there. Those who DO want to play there either struggle immensely or have their carrier erradicated by injuries The only argument you can make is that they're at least way more recent than Buffalo but i seriously believe if a team moves out in the next coming years it might be them
Like I alluded to in another post. If you show the CREASE twice! Teach some of the young fans why that goal was such b.s. and why it was so important. There are a lot of new fans out there, who get shit on because they were born in the last 15 years. Why not be the guy, the educator and your shtick will become a reason that you gain subs. Because you respect the youth and tell the stories, you think they need to learn! If you don't do it...I'm thinking about taking my idea back :) Cheers from Montreal Quebec Canada
If the Sabres developed Reinhart like Florida and had Eichel now with this new Sabres team they might have been something but both of them went on too win cups with different teams. Also why tf did they get rid of Savioe 😭

I think the Coyotes were worse. At least Buffalo has Stanley Cup appearances, Arizona's owner just gave up and is letting them fold because they're not worth reviving in his eyes
One person should be solely responsible for making the Sabres the laughing stock it is today
Terry Pegula
I’ve always had a huge soft spot for the Sabres, I started following hockey during the Breire and Drury years. It just feels right when they’re competitive. Hoping they finally get things turned around, I like their D core a lot and they have pieces up front, they just always seem to find a way to under-perform. Look at some of the guys that have come through their roster and some of the hot months they’ve had over the past 5 years and you wonder how they haven’t put it together yet.
Part, but only part, of the problem is they've had bad to mediocre coaching for the last five years or so.
Thank you for making me feel depressed in the summer time being from Buffalo and a lifelong fan. Great video though, nothing but the truth. Keep it up.
As a Montreal fan, I do want the Sabres to have more success, (I was at the last playoff game between the two teams)
98 was a bad year for Canada already. First we lose to the Dominator, in the Olympics and then Montreal lost to Buffalo, along with 2 other Canadian teams (I think).
Man Hasek was incredible and 'that goal'
Should not have counted.
One thing I am sure of, might actually cheer you up, or at the very least, let you win at Bar trivia ;)
In the1998, aforementioned, last Montreal Vs Buffalo playoff gave. It was also the ONLY time, in the history of the Montreal Canadiens, that they were swept, (In a 7 game series) on Home Ice!
So, to you and Buffalo, our old Adams Division Rivals, I do hope you guys make the playoffs and keep on winning, (As long as it is not against us ;)
Cheers from Montreal Quebec Canada.
Lopsided as it ever gets
Although patrice roy to avs for thibalt is near the top as well 😡🤬
Dominik Hasek- The reason why the Sabres had a fanbase.
@danielmiller8038 Thank You for your comment
if buffalo ever moves to a warm non-tax state, watch out..
That didnt matter years ago why is it such a big deal now you know theres contenders in taxed states too.
Well we still haven't won a cup yet but at least our team is going into the right direction.
0:09 Florida Panthers pre-Zito 😂
The panthers went to a cup in 96 and at least won playoff games and divisions before zito
Stories like this are one reason why American leagues should really consider introducing relegation/promotion systems
Agreed 100%!
Were said system in place, the Sabres would've been an AHL team for at least the last decade or so. 😂😂😂
Buffalo is a poverty sports city. All they have is Josh allen and no trophies.
Since their last championship (Twins) in 1991, they have experienced droughts of
Twins (31seasons), Vikings (33 seasons), Wild (23 seasons), Timberwolves (33 seasons) plus two more drought seasons of the North Stars for a total of 122 seasons.
I know the White Sox. But they won a World Series 20 years ago. Mariners fans wish they had that.
"Oh, I'm so freaking glad it's Buffalo and not us any more." -Mariners fans after 2022.
Can we all just agree that the Sabers have one of the best looking jerseys in all hockey? Can we at least Have that?
You completely glossed over the Phil Housley for Dale Hawerchuk trade, which was also an impact deal.
There has to be a mathematical law that states “the more confused and nappy your hair is, the better you are at hockey.”
I’m just happy my Leafs haven’t worked their way into the top spot… yet!
😂🤣 you haven't even been to the cup since there was only six teams
You are there. Don't pretend this dude isn't being nice🤣🤣
The Leafs have never won more than two series in a single playoff season, I think that's worse than Buffalo's lack of success.
the Lions did win two playoff games last season: the Wild Card round and the Divisional Round, then losing in the NFC Championship
What's a more successful hockey team?
A team like the Maple Leafs that has won 1 playoff series in about 10 seasons.
Or
A team that wins the Stanley Cup 1 season & misses the playoffs entirely the other 9 seasons?
Well it looks like mcdavid and Jeff skinner will be playing together after all
Vancouver/Memphis Grizzlies has never been deep in the playoffs and now have Ja Morants antics as the biggest story I remember from them.
LOL
I can't wait to see how, MY team screws our great young talent up! LOL
"Hi, Colorado, it's Montreal Calling.* We really think highly of this new Drouin character. Do you still have him? GOOD!
How about Caufield for Drouin. STRAIGHT UP??"
LOL I wouldn't be (that) surprised, considering what we gave up for him the first time!!! :(
* 'Montreal Calling' Amazing song. It was in NHL 06, or around there.
It all starts at the top.
As the old saying goes ..shit rolls downhill.
As a Columbus Blue Jackets fan, it’s 100% us. Buffalo is close though.
Jackets don’t have enough history.
The only interesting thing to me is that yes the Savoie deal looked bad at the time but he still isn't playing for the Oilers and McLeod somehow looks like one of the best players on our team now?? The Kevyn Adams special is floundering on the obvious trades and maybe making the odd ones look good?
The dolphins are cursed. No playoff win since Bill Clinton
As a former Coyotes fan (RIP), I was pleasantly surprised to see a different team in the thumbnail
Mukamadullin has proved nothing u they didn't much for his development what send him to the a for one year he's not really much better
Cozens and Quinn suck, Dahlin is overated
Avs fan here. There was more to the Byram/ Mitts trade than meets the eye. Mitts will be a decent #2 C, but it will take time to fit into the complicated game plan that the Avs use. I should imagine that he will be closely tutored by Coach Bednar. Sad to see Byram go, but it is understandable that the Avs wanted him gone considering his head injury history.
Thank god my florida panthers are no longer a running joke
As a Sabres fan your team’s story has actually given me hope…I’ll take what I can
Ive always liked the Panthers but After my hometown team started rebuilding, I truely adopted the Panthers and the last two years have just been magical!!
Nuff said
So, a late Congratulations to you and all your great Fans!!
You guys earned it!!
& You deserve it!
Still, the oddest finals I've seen with my own EYES!
(Started watching Hockey in 85, so I've seen some strange ones but I've never seen a series, that included 2 blown Sweeps!
You guys must have been so nervous for game 6 and 7. I know I was, for game 7!!
I still think the CONN SMYTHE snub, was bullshit. It should have been Bob! But the most important trophy, went the right way!
Cheers from Montreal Quebec Canada
Anyone who was a pre-2013 panthers fan and stuck with them deserves to enjoy the potential dynasty run they’re on
That defence is absolutely disgusting. That is gonna be scary to go up against in a year or two
The Sabres have drafted some great players only issue is they've ended up trading so many of them away and those players have thrived elsewhere!? Like Ullmark, Eichel,Zadorov,Compher, and so many others!!? It's crazy how many good players they've drafted but then traded away only to have those players go on to get better and better with other teams!!?
@@lilwoodiewood3457 dude shut up……all butt hurt over a simple mistake
@@lilwoodiewood3457 nonsense?? Because he made one small mistake about one player and where he was drafted. You must be living an awful life
@lilwoodiewood3457 Yes, JT Compher was drafted by Buffalo!!
@@lilwoodiewood3457 hahahahahahaha correcting people like a jerk while being wrong about it
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
You never half step a rebuild. The Sabres had all of these young players and draft picks. And decided to trade them away in the middle of a rebuild. I remember thinking to myself as an outside fan that the Sabres were set up great to have a successful rebuild. Then they decided to "accelerate" it. WTF? Now they are sitting there with the record for longest playoff drought, and I personally think it's because they decided to stop the rebuild in the middle of it. They should have never went into a rebuild if they didn't want to follow all the way through with it. If you do a rebuild, you have to commit to the WHOLE rebuild.
It's incompetent ownership. 100% their fault and their responsibility.
Also wanted to add you have a new subscriber and keep up the great content mate!
Thank you!
This just seems like sabre hate...browns are easily a worse sports franchise and the leafs have just as bad a legacy, if not worse. And let's not forget the cubs, yes they won it all in 2016 but before that went a 100 years between championships.....
Hasek literally saying "Fine. I'll do it myself" in 99 was wild
Good thing about Buffalo Sabres is once you play in this team and leave within few years, you are surely about to win Stanley cup with some other team. Sabres are a hilarious joke.
i remember every buffalo fan was fighting head over heel about how they were better without eichel. pure delusion. absolute poverty franchise
My fandom, having grown up in Dallas and now living in the Bay Area…
Sharks: ok, we had our time but now??? Woof.
A’s: worst ownership in pro sports.
Cowboys: How I loathe Jerry Jones.
Mavs: Well, at least I got one right! 😉
Uh, hello. The Jets.
Some day this will be the wild haven’t made the second round since the 2010s
Since the 2010s omg 4 years so long
@@lilwoodiewood3457 💀

As a Leafs fan I don't think there has been a worse team than them since I started watching hockey. We haven't made the finals even once since 67.
They were a juggernaut in 05-07 and then they blew up. Also, all their x-stars are doing real well on other teams. Weird...
You are very good at this. Keep going and you will have ten times the subscribers!
Wow, thanks!
I agree, this is a gem of a channel. I really hope it doesn't start clickbaiting videos in the future like so many other channels do...
Its a shame that they have been so down. Saw a game in Buffalo on a road trip in 1998. Great fans, very enjoyable atmosphere.
as a canuck fan i feel like neo in the matrix the way my team dodged this video
Crazy how the Lions are on the up with their current team. The Browns are re-opening the factory of sadness.
@@Evan8787 Fully agree!!!!
Another problem with the franchise is almost no fanbase LOLOLOL
@@danielmiller8038 To my knowledge, the Sabres have a good fan base. Sure a very dissapointed fan base for a long time now, but still they are there.
@@Evan8787Yep. The Sens were just a shiny toy and a tax write-off for him.
Same thing applies to Peghoulie and his Sabres.
I didn't know the Sabres were a NHL team cause I never see them on TV.
A brutal watch for any Sabres fan... keep up the great content!
Well done by a young sounding voice. It was as if you, like some of us, were there for it all.
Looks like they're keeping on trend this year
Jason Pominville was a fuckin GAMER. Respect to Jason Pominville
How many of these players won The Stanley Cup with another team?
Detroit Lions won 2 playoff game in 2023/24 for the first time since 1957
That Power contract is a mess.8.1 million? Jeez.
For a 6’6 pilot who screens his own goalie and NEVER I mean NEVER hits.
Poogoola has broken the Sabres and will inevitably have to sell them because of his mismanagement.
9:54 God, it is *SO* weird knowing that there’s an NHL Player out there who has the exact same last name as you, despite not even being related to the guy.
That byram for mittsy trade is looking real bad rn. We have a #2 Center crisis now. DC being moved to wing lol.
Bad luck.
It's miracle how they continue being so bad
Thank you Buffalo for Casey Mittelstadt
The Colorado Rockies have to at least be in contention for most pathetic franchise. This is a team whose lone moment of glory is the result of setting an MLB record for wins in a row just to make the playoffs. Other than that, once paid a league rival $50 million to take their best player, act as a farm club for MLB teams who care about winning, and play a pitching-centric sport in a state where it's nearly impossible to pitch well. Brutal.
Vancouver came into the NHL in the same year as the Sabres. Buffalo had more wins and more playoff wins than Vancouver. So what did that make them?
Van has 3 finals appearances to Buffalo's two maybe? I'd say both franchises are sad but Van is a sliver less sad overall.
I know you're trying to make a point, but they lost game 6 in triple overtime and very much went down swinging...
It's not as if they were no shows in the finals.
The Canucks are actually the most pathetic team in the NHL.
Buffalo and Vancouver are 1970 twins
Yeah but Buffalo had the better first draft and initial trades.
Vancouver had a good draft but back then, there were some amazingly strong teams.
Thats why, for the 67 expansion, they stuck all the new teams in one division, with St. Louis going to the Finals, 3 years straight.
Their combined record in the 3 finals, 0 and 12, although all 4 games of the 68 finals were 1 goal games and the 12th loss, sent Bobby Orr from the ice, in to OT, Cup Winning Orrbit ;)
So, if we including the 1970 final.
It is good you specified which Linus Ullmark cause there has been so many players with that name.
Hyperbolic, and you disproved your own title in the 1st 30 seconds. There are much worse franchises in sports than the Sabres
Unbelievable how that much talent has come through the Sabres in the past 12 or so seasons to do absolutely nothing with it.
100% fault lies with the Peghoulies.
They really don't know what they're doing.
The fanbase is thoroughly alienated.
Who in their right mind would want to play for them?
The White Sox have entered the chat
7:00
You need to cut them a little slack, when they lose the lottery twice.
Actually the Browns won multiple playoff games when they won it all in 1964.
Im a sabres fan so dont get me started i love my team infact i love the sabres more then the bills its painful tho sometimes.
Our playoff drought is officially a teenager, at age 13.😊
The Buffalo Sabres... the Seattle Mariners of the NHL (at least the Sabres have made it to the Stanley Cup Finals). Draft tons of talent, only to see that talent have success elsewhere.
there is something wrong with key bank center
"the Browns have only won one since 1950.... and the Lions haven't won two....."
in other words, only one then?
Honestly i don't even think Buffalo is the most pathetic franchise in the NHL. In their history they at least had moments of brilliance despite the suffering
You cannot say that about Columbus. The Jackets have never even smelled the third round in their history and they have a legacy of high talent players that didn't want to play there. Those who DO want to play there either struggle immensely or have their carrier erradicated by injuries
The only argument you can make is that they're at least way more recent than Buffalo but i seriously believe if a team moves out in the next coming years it might be them
Moments of brilliance? K
The jackets have been in the league for 20 some years
Sabres and Canucks are as pathetic as the leafs
@@lilwoodiewood3457 tell me what has Columbus accomplished in their existence

Teach some of the young fans why that goal was such b.s. and why it was so important.

If the Sabres developed Reinhart like Florida and had Eichel now with this new Sabres team they might have been something but both of them went on too win cups with different teams. Also why tf did they get rid of Savioe 😭
Reinhart was already a star in Buffalo. But he wanted out.
