I sure miss those teams, but I'm grateful for the memories and will remember those championship teams forever. 2010 was a young talented team on fire, 2013 was the dominating veteran team that basically dominated everyone, and 2015 was the hard grinding team that turned it on in the playoffs. That Blackhawks Ducks series was something else, and it made me a coffee drinker lol.
This was a fun video. I loved reliving the three cups. The 2 goals in 17 seconds in 2013 has got to be my favorite moment due to the confusion around Kane's winner in 2010.
I remember watching the Toews and Kane era of the 2010s when I was young at that time. It also got me into watching sports, Toews and Kane were my first two favorite sports athletes that I liked, and will always be my favorite Blackhawks players of all time. Man it was so fun to watch them play and bring three Stanley Cups to the Windy City in the 2010s during my childhood. It was so amazing! We had a great run! Also, bowman should’ve never traded Artemi Panarin to the Blue Jackets for Brandon Saad back in the summer of 2017, that’s when the dominos started to fall, they went on a downward spiral following that. If Bowman didn’t trade Panarin, we would’ve been a playoff team for at least 3-4 years and added 1 or 2 more cups to the 2010s dynasty. Hopefully the Bedard era will be like the Toews and Kane era. Go Hawks! ❤️🖤
Not mentioning Hossa and the other 2 really good defenseman they had in Hjarlmasson and Seabrook is a disservice to those guys and all those GREAT trades they made at different points in their cup run. Trading for Sharp, Versteeg, and Ladd. Drafting Saad and Shaw. Then some of those midseason trades for like Oduya, Handzus, Frolik, and Vermette who all had huge moments. They played the 2015 playoffs with pretty much 4 defenseman, a 5th who played sparingly and a 6th who barely saw the ice.
You can't forget the Islanders hold a North American pro sports record of 19 consecutive playoff victories, that is the best team by far, the NHL (based in Montreal at the time) had to change the playoff format to heavily favor the Oilers to stop the Isles from winning a 5th-straight Cup to officially tie the Canadiens' record, though the Habs had to win much less playoff rounds to win those 5
sports is entertainment. when it's that automatic it loses the entertainment. nobody ever really got tired of the dynasty Hawks, bc they were always incredibly dramatic, and would actually lose - but dramatically, and always after dramatically fighting their way back. and their wins were just as dramatic and did not feel quite inevitable, even if maybe they were - unlike the later Lightning whose 'clutchness' always felt inevitable and easy and contrived, like how top NCAA football teams never quite lose even when ostensibly threatened.
@@paulwt9783 It was dramatic for the Islanders every time, barely anyone expected them to win no matter how many cups they already won, regardless that has nothing to do with the Montreal-based NHL changing the playoff format to favor the opposing finalist
man i was so truly blessed to grow up watching this team. my dad had to wait the full 49 years as he was born just a few months after their 1961 cup win. that’s why i honestly can’t complain too much about their performance the past few years. it just feels ungrateful to complain when i literally got to come into this world and watch a team be great that just years prior was a dead franchise. they’ll be back on top someday.

My first year watching n my team got to win, nostalgia kicking in while hearing it and after they won I screamed the loudest I still ever had to this day
This cup win hit home since my mom's uncle was the Blackhawks chief scout from 1992 to 2010 and won it with them. I still find it crazy to this day that i've been lucky enough to hold his stanley cup rings.
try canucks fan... ruined our chance at our cup. even when we beat them in 2011 they forced game 7 which we won but if we solved them in 5/6 I think we would of had more in the tank against boston.
Didn’t talk about the transition from 2010-2013. The 2010 team hit a massive cap wall and had to get rid of so many players. The fact that they were able to put together an even better roster around the stars they kept and win again just a few years later is one of the greatest sports front office moves in history.
As a sharks fan who suffered through that 2010 sweep living in Chicago and watched all their subsequent cups after that living in the city, the trajectory the sharks are on is looking similar and I’m so excited.
As a lifelong die hard Kings fan my favorite series matchups were the Hawks V Kings when they played you know whoever won that series was likely to win the cup they were so intense and cut throat it was amazing
As a Flyers fan I hated them in 2010 but there’s something about watching the young guns dominate early in their careers that makes it hard not to like.
As a Minnesota fan im so glad this era is over. Those wild teams were a lot better than people gave them credit for, they just weren't the blackhawks. Hopefully we will have more matchups in the recent future, the Minnesota Chicago rivalry goes wwaaaayyyyy back
My Grandpa and I used to watch the Hawks all the time together. The last time we ever did was when we lost to the Kings in the Western final in 2014. I was really bummed because he had cancer and I really wanted us to win the cup that year so he could see it. We ended up winning it the next year, but it was a little bitter sweet for me, personally.
2010 OT cup winning goal. 2014 ot winner in conference finals against Kings, and 2015 SCF goal against TB. Patrick Kanes 3 most iconic goals. And great cellts on top of it to follow! 😎
Thanks, Max for bringing that up. While I'm a Hawks fan (form Makita-Hull era), Modano is the better all-around pUSA-born player over Kane. He had 29 SHG. Says a lot about his abilities other than goals & assists.
If you haven't made one yet I'd love to see a video made by hectic about Ovechkins or The caps' playoff struggles throughout the Ovechkin-Era, all the way to the run that would go on to become the clubs first cup win🙏🏼🙏🏼👍🏼
Loved this team, very rarely does a team do something like this. The 2013 team was the best of the bunch. If not for LA, they likely would have threepeated
I never knew that Toews came back after being drafted (UND is what i mean) makes me even more happy to be from a mere hour Northwest of the Ralph Engelstad Arena
I was in 10th grade win they won their first. I remember no one in school cared but me and my friends (NWI) by 2012 my senior year EVERYONE had hawks gear lol
Been watching and following hockey for over 20 years, and gotta say no team could control and dominate a game like the prime time Hawks. They’d put on a puck possession clinic. Also Kane favorite player, and funnest to watch. I know now u got McKinnon and McDavid, super fast, but NOBODY could manipulate a defense, do so lot with so little, either slowing down, stopping up, changing angles, delaying, like Kane could. He slowed the game down to the pace he wanted it
A Big reason the hawks were so dominant during the lockout season was because a majority of the key players were practing together throughout the lockout. Toews was hosting practices for hawks players and some others from around the nhl at the time
Patrick Kane is one of the best clutch players in history. He kind of embodies those Blackhawks, they aren't among the best teams of all-time but they played their best when it mattered.
I wouldn't call Edmonton a big market team... They struggled financially a lot and is exactly why they traded Wayne Gretzky for Cash as well as players
You're wrong about winning the cup 3 times in six years. Yes, they won three cups over SEASONS, but that was in a span of five years and one week, which isn't the same thing.
With the hard cap, if you can maintain a good team for 6+ years and win a cup or two, that is pretty much a modern NHL dynasty, it's just to difficult to hold on to pieces, once rookie contracts are up, you have to start moving key pieces to pay the young stars you drafted
a Cup or 2 does not make a dynasty. even 3 doesn't unless it's in a span of time at least around what the Hawks did. the Hawks btw were good from 09-17, 9 seasons. WCF appearance in 09, were the 1 seed in the West in 17.
I recognize that Gretzky and his team had his dynasty but these guys are precision tuned athletes; health, fitness, and hockey have been their whole lives. Gretzky has said it himself he could never compete with these guys, so to continue to say his team was the greatest is a complete diminution of the last 2 decades of hockey.
From Illinois I’m very young 14 now, hawks won In 2010 the year I was born then 2013 when my brother was born and in 2015 the year my mom and dad got married
Sorry man, but not mentioning Marián Hossa a single time is from my point of view disrespectful. There were 3 Slovaks playing in Hawks during that time. Tomáš Kopecký, Michal Handzuš and Marián Hoss the Boss. I can understand that Tomáš and Michal (you even mentioned Michal once in a video, Even you mentioned Zdeno Chára) was not that big building stone of Franchise, but Marián was free agent after 2 loses in Finals in 2 years, so lets be honest, probably the most experienced player in a roster, so definetely, he was not just a role player. This is not a hate, this is just a view of myself during 2010s. Every single morning I was looking through teletext in TV just to see if Chicago had won and who from Slovak players scored or assisted. No matter what, keep doing what you are doing now.
Penguins won in 2009, a year before Chicago won their cup in 2010, plus they played in scf in 2008 on top of their consecutive cups in 2016 and 2017, that's 4 scf appearances in 9 years, also making playoffs each year from 2007 through 2022, so not sure what you mean by them being dominant for only 2 or 3 years
I hate the salary cap, I get why they exist because of baseball and the Yankees. However the first issue is small market team owners are still billionaires crying about money. I get not allowing a team to outspend everyone in free agency but what about talent developed through the draft. The cap screwed the hawks before the dynasty started. Imagine no cap and they kept Dustin Byflugien the whole time and had kept nearly that whole roster. Look at the 2010 team believe it or not that roster was nearly all drafted by the hawks. Sure the flyers squandered having Sharp which was our gain and Hossa came here and proved he is a hall of famer after playing in three straight cup finals for 3 teams. There should be no cap on retaining players you draft it should be whatever you are willing to spend. Basically otherwise don’t call it parity you make big market teams develop for the rest of the league.
This was just a recap of the Kane and Toews and there Cup runs. Those two were not the main reason why we won cups. We had other players that were a huge part of are dynasty. You really have to have had Hosea. If he didn’t score in game 5 in the 2010 playoffs against the Nashville predators. We probably would’ve been eliminated in Nashville for game 6. Patrick sharp was a part of it too. Even Brent Seabrook made his huge impact in game 7 vs the Detroit Red Wings in the 2013 playoffs. I do think that the video is a good review on there time with the hawks, but I don’t think you really don’t know how great this dynasty really is if it’s just two superstars and a top defenseman. The hawks weren’t great bye drafting superstars, they were great because the whole team believed that they could do something great.
You should give more props to Hossa. He was so impactful throughout those years. The seabrook and Keith combo was also on the level of toews/makar today

I was 17-22 years old for their run.. went to every parade in Chicago.. man what a time
It was such a good run. I'm ready for the future!
This was a fun video. I loved reliving the three cups. The 2 goals in 17 seconds in 2013 has got to be my favorite moment due to the confusion around Kane's winner in 2010.
The most fun years of my life. Season tickets for 9 years with my best buddy.

This made me smile. Hope they surge back, maybe you'll get another decade of the same seats ;)
As a Chicagoan, I miss those days
Go Hawks! ❤️🖤
I’m so grateful being from Chicago and young seeing all 3 wins . These teams were insane and Q is a g .
I watched every game during the dynasty run and was at game 2 of the 2010 Stanley cup final. It was an hour to watch them
This is so nostalgic, growing up in Chicagoland during this dynasty was incredible. Thanks for putting this out!
What a time to be a Hockey fan. Especially in Chicago at that time. It took the city by surprise and it made the ride so much more special.
I love the Blackhawks when they won the Stanley Cup since 2010-2013-2015 this video awesome
Yeah how can you skip over those three guys? They were core guys.
Kinda wish you touched on game 7 of the 2015 western conference finals just a bit more. That was absolute domination by Chicago.
i miss this team. good times. i wish i was a little older in 2010 so i would remember it more.
Never stop making videos man. They’re genuinely so good!
Thank you!
@@paulwt9783 It was dramatic for the Islanders every time, barely anyone expected them to win no matter how many cups they already won, regardless that has nothing to do with the Montreal-based NHL changing the playoff format to favor the opposing finalist
man i was so truly blessed to grow up watching this team. my dad had to wait the full 49 years as he was born just a few months after their 1961 cup win. that’s why i honestly can’t complain too much about their performance the past few years. it just feels ungrateful to complain when i literally got to come into this world and watch a team be great that just years prior was a dead franchise. they’ll be back on top someday.
ur videos don’t get enough credit, you’re genuinely My favorite NHL youtuber right now keep it up brotha
Thank you!
Easily same
Him and Hockey Psychology are the best check him out too
Great Video. When The Miracle happened, 2 goals in only 17 seconds, I texted my buddy in Florida, who, as A Kid, was A Huge Terry O'Reilly Fan, while I was A Huge Tony O Esposito Fan (as our Jerseys showed, in playing Street Hockey in The Late 70s), Chicago! Chicago! Chicago! It was great winning at TD Garden, rather than us having to go back to Chicago for A Game 7.
Love stories like this
@@HecticHockey Thank You. He's, unfortunately, going through a lot with A Skin Thing. Thanks for the kind words & comment. Keep up the great work
@@HecticHockey Even though I like The Rangers a bit more, also, now, I'm still A Huge Chicago Blackhawks Fan (I'd even say that there's more of A Tie).
My first year watching n my team got to win, nostalgia kicking in while hearing it and after they won I screamed the loudest I still ever had to this day
Let’s not forget Patrik Stefan was the reason the hawks got Patrick Kane lmao
I think he was the first pick, before the Canucks picked the Sedins, if i remember right
This cup win hit home since my mom's uncle was the Blackhawks chief scout from 1992 to 2010 and won it with them. I still find it crazy to this day that i've been lucky enough to hold his stanley cup rings.
As a wings fan, I couldn’t stand the Blackhawks in the 2010-14. But damn did I respect that team. So happy to have Kane in the winged wheel.
try canucks fan... ruined our chance at our cup. even when we beat them in 2011 they forced game 7 which we won but if we solved them in 5/6 I think we would of had more in the tank against boston.
Chicago won in 2015 roo
09 was a great team too.
Blackhawks OWNED the 2010s
As a lifelong die hard Kings fan my favorite series matchups were the Hawks V Kings when they played you know whoever won that series was likely to win the cup they were so intense and cut throat it was amazing
Hawks my fav team this video proves they’ve been the most successful team in the salary cap era so far
As a Flyers fan I hated them in 2010 but there’s something about watching the young guns dominate early in their careers that makes it hard not to like.
As a Minnesota fan im so glad this era is over. Those wild teams were a lot better than people gave them credit for, they just weren't the blackhawks. Hopefully we will have more matchups in the recent future, the Minnesota Chicago rivalry goes wwaaaayyyyy back
And at the same time, the Cubs won the World Series! That was a great time to be a Chicago fan.
I miss Pat Foley more than anything tbh
One of the GOATs
Those Minnesota Wild teams in 2014 and 2015 were very good but ran into the Blackhawks in peak form.
9 June 2010, I was at game six when that phantom puck went in. Good times as a Hawks fan.
I still get chills when I see Kane’s goal against the Flyers.
My Grandpa and I used to watch the Hawks all the time together. The last time we ever did was when we lost to the Kings in the Western final in 2014. I was really bummed because he had cancer and I really wanted us to win the cup that year so he could see it.
We ended up winning it the next year, but it was a little bitter sweet for me, personally.
lets go hawks man i miss the 2010s hawks
Those were good teams, they beat my Bruins in 6 games back in '13.
Growing up with the blackhawks as hometown team was so inspirational seeing two kids just fucking ball was so cool
2010 OT cup winning goal. 2014 ot winner in conference finals against Kings, and 2015 SCF goal against TB. Patrick Kanes 3 most iconic goals. And great cellts on top of it to follow! 😎
Game five against Nashville. Patrick Kane’s only shorthanded goal of his entire CAREER.
Wow that’s insane
@@HecticHockeyI Miss Jonathan Toews And Patrick Kane As Legends Who Won 3 Stanley Cups For The Blackhawks ❤️🖤 2010 2013 And 2015
Thanks, Max for bringing that up. While I'm a Hawks fan (form Makita-Hull era), Modano is the better all-around pUSA-born player over Kane. He had 29 SHG. Says a lot about his abilities other than goals & assists.
@@js60540not true
Kane has more stats
If you haven't made one yet I'd love to see a video made by hectic about Ovechkins or The caps' playoff struggles throughout the Ovechkin-Era, all the way to the run that would go on to become the clubs first cup win🙏🏼🙏🏼👍🏼
13:19 that’s me holding the cup! claim to fame
Ha no way, that's awesome
Loved this team, very rarely does a team do something like this. The 2013 team was the best of the bunch. If not for LA, they likely would have threepeated
You did a fabulous job with this. 👌💯
Your RUclips Channel Is The Greatest
I never knew that Toews came back after being drafted (UND is what i mean) makes me even more happy to be from a mere hour Northwest of the Ralph Engelstad Arena
I was in 10th grade win they won their first. I remember no one in school cared but me and my friends (NWI) by 2012 my senior year EVERYONE had hawks gear lol
The Blackhawks were a juggernaut
Its pretty sad how far they’ve fell after their dynasty. This was certainly the teams prime and they might not ever get better than they were.
Toews was hosting practices for hawks players and some others from around the nhl at the time
Can’t forget what happened to Kyle Beach during the 2010 run
Oilers were never a big market team, they just drafted well early on along with Gretzky being sold to them.
I was more going at the fact that their owner at the time was worth well over a billion dollars meaning that they could attract better players
@@HecticHockeythey literally sold the greatest player of all time. They weren’t and still are not a big market team
As a sharks fan i remember this team well 😔
You wouldn’t consider the 2000-2010’s penguins a dynasty? 4 cup final appearances, 3 wins, longest NA playoff appearance streak. Kinda crazy
3 Cups in 9 years w a 6 year break during which another team has a dynasty?
Patrick Kane is one of the best clutch players in history. He kind of embodies those Blackhawks, they aren't among the best teams of all-time but they played their best when it mattered.
Good times man. Good times.
Since it got mentioned, as a preds fan I’d love to see you make a video about the 2017 preds run
That could be good
Sharks 2016 run as well? They're similar so i just thought of that
I wouldn't call Edmonton a big market team... They struggled financially a lot and is exactly why they traded Wayne Gretzky for Cash as well as players
You're wrong about winning the cup 3 times in six years. Yes, they won three cups over SEASONS, but that was in a span of five years and one week, which isn't the same thing.
Go Hawks. Don’t forget about us we’ll be back
1:18 The Oilers are a big market team? I thought they won because they had Gretzky and Messier until they could no longer afford them.
They were basically one goal away from a 3-peat and 4 cups
They have 6 cups
Especially when the Hawks made it to the finals 2010, showed off why it has the name "The Madhouse On Madison".
Patience Blackhawk fans...the future is starting to look pretty good!
Simply put. The blackhawks Dynasty saved Hockey. Your welcome.
You forgot that the maple leafs of Toronto had dynasty’s also
From Illinois I’m very young 14 now, hawks won In 2010 the year I was born then 2013 when my brother was born and in 2015 the year my mom and dad got married
4:05 looks like Eric Staal
It is.
Hawks win at least 6 cups if salary cap doesn’t change.
New Jersey Devils
Dallas Stars
Pretty solid teams in the early 2000’s late 90’s
As a hawks fan.. Pittsburgh is still a dynasty in our modern era easily.. Sid Malkin and Letang is a legendary core equal to kane toews and keith.
Felt like once they got a second win in the series it was there’s to lose every single time
philly was just silent in disbelief lol
It was when Hossa retired that’s when the hawks really went downhill
coincidence more than anything. his role in the dynasty has become overrated
LOL Why I am using my nickname from 2015 xDDD
Emerick was truly the goat
A dynasy is 3 championships by the same team with roughly the same core or at least some of the same players in a reasonable span of time.
Dale Tallon as GM never got the credit he deserved for putting this team together. Denis Savard kinda got screwed too but Coach Q was top notch.
