In this video, I’m in one of our Ram 5500 Wheel lift trucks, doing a repo on a Pontiac Grand Prix.
As expected, I got caught by the debtor, because the car was parked at their work. Thankfully they were cooperative, and gave up their keys in exchange for personal items out of the car.

I feel bad for her since they clearly are struggling in life right now. At least she didn't make a huge scene.
All you have to do is call the finance company before you can’t make your next payment. They don’t want to go through repo. They get only the money owed if/when resold and the owner gets the remainder. The only one who profits is the tow company and they are just doing their job.
Isn't there a bunch of late fees and such the bank keeps too for falling behind?@@GoRideConnor

That's a product of these buy here, pay here lots and predatory lending companies that charge astronomical interest rates.. they know they're charging way over market value and that people are gonna default for one reason or another, that's why it has GPS on it.. most of them have remote capabilities to shut the car down.
Pontiac has stopped making those so they are going to be rare one day

She is asking what is Repo fee going to add to catch up back payment(s). Could be $150.00 up seen some as much $500.00
If she can afford pizza hut, she could afford whatever she owes on it.

I hate seeing these videos. This poor woman is working her ass off at a Pizza Hut to make ends meet. Now she has no way to get to work. I know that she owes or fell behind in her payments, but it still makes me sad. The economy is so messed up because politicians overspending. Working people can't keep up. I hope she was able to get her car back. If I could, I'd send her some money to help.

I really wish we had video cameras back when I was towing, 82-91 We had CHP, Police, Boder Patrol & Military Police. I did take some photos of the accidents I worked, or the exotic car I towed, started driving an Ecka wheel lift then went to a sling truck, finally worked my way up to the big truck. Was fun doing off road vehicle recoveries, but driving in the snow sucks and the beach rocks!
That has to be one of the worst parts of the job. Glad it went well.

@ least she wasn’t screaming, claiming that she just made a payment today AND gave up the keys. Make certain you are appreciative of those persons who help make your job lots easier.
I also feel bad for her. No matter what, you have to make those payments. Once you sign an agreement you're on the hook to pay it, you gave them your word.
You can make payments on other stuff like utilities. They'll work out a payment schedule for you. Just don't be buying toys or phone aps or other unnecessary
stuff. Get a flip phone and save monthly high phone rates.
She seemed kind of relieved to have it gone.
Till found your channel the other day I never knew how fun it would be to watch people who quit paying on their vehicles get them reposed. I do feel bad for some however as things have gotten so expensive that people can't make payments when rent is going up,food,medical,utilities,virtually everything.

Probably bought it from one of those crappy dealers that will finance anything. Take a deposit for what the cars worth and finance the balance on a piece of crap car, then repo it when they don’t pay

@Nikki_alterego No judgment here. Just pointing out a common scenario that many find themselves in. All of the key elements set in place that keep the rich rich and the poor poor. Maybe taking out a loan on a over priced 17yr old car is not such a good idea? It's a bad financial decision that's usually made in desperation or on impulse and that's what the rich bet on. When you gamble the house always wins. Think about it
Buy here, pay here formula: buy car at auction, sell for 2X cost, set up weekly short-term payments. Knew a fella paying$140/weekly on a 10yr old Kia. They prey on folks with limited credit options.

@@flawdaman305 It there is a loan on the Title.. the car is NOT PAID OFF now. Whether it was paid off in the past makes no difference .. there is a loan, and the car is collateral, hence NOT paid off.

I have had 2 cars and a Harley repossessed in my youth and I never tried to hide the cars or fight the repo man. Seeing them load my Harley on a trailer and take it away really hurt. Now I pay cash for my toys.
I fully understand the order of repossession, having worked with a trash company that had roll out cart's for residential services, so many people forget to pay the bills to keep their house going then when I showed up to get the cart that they would have to call to make arrangements to get the cart back, so they wouldn't have to go to a landfill, and there was one residence that was frustrating as the home owner had defaulted and moved out leaving the cart in the house and there was no way to find out which lienholder had the key to the door, oh well, as far as I know, the cart is still locked inside the house and I haven't worked with the trash company in ten years

It is unfortunate that things have had to come to this, but that is exactly how a repossession should be carried out. The keys are freely given up, and the car is taken.

Not always the case the she could’ve owned the car outright and got a loan on the title that wasn’t paid

The best car I’ve had is a 2008 Pontiac Solstice. It’s the one I currently own. It’s fun to drive and never breaks down.

68,000 miles 4.2k
Now it got 93k I bought it Nov, 22.22 I am UE delivery driver

Just a question, do you ever repo cars at a hospital?
I used to work security at a hospital and we were told that if there were ever any repo people that come onto the property we had to tell them to leave. Mainly for safety reason, you never know what someone might do if they see their car being towed.

I served lawsuit papers to a doctor at a hospital, security saw him screaming at me and didn't ask me to leave.
@@Towtruck_Dustin I found this channel as I just searched repo cars after watching one in person the other night... they followed the car to starbucks.. where I was parked in my mobile office bus .. they mustve knew what was going on and mustve thought the bus was empty as they parked so close the tow rig could never get in.. they went in the store.. the tow truck driver saw me and asked me if I could let him in.. so I backed up the bus about 25 feet.. he zipped in.. the dude and girl come running out of the starbucks with big tall cups screamin... about that time the cops drove in for their usual free cup of evening espresso... it was like a TV show :).. the car went on the hook and the people went on foot.. tow truck driver said he'd buy me a coffee next time he sees me there.. made me think.. they could go buy $6 starbucks drinks but wouldnt make their car payments

Why she asking the REPO man what she owes. She knows EXACTLY how much she owes AND this WAS NOT a surprise. Bills don’t care about your hard times. You either can pay or not. I’ve been there and I had all my stuff out the car because I knew they were coming because it wasn’t my car. 💁🏾♀️💁🏾♀️💁🏾♀️ Sometimes you gotta take a step back to move forward. After 2 repos, one being voluntary, I learned some valuable lessons and now my last car I bought with cash, no payments don’t have to worry about a repo man.
Every time I park I remove all the tires so no repo can be done. Strangest part is that I own my car. Never be to careful though.
Even stranger part is even that won’t stop anyone lol wouldn’t be the first time I’ve towed something missing all 4’s lol

See now when people are this cooperative the tow truck driver puts it in his report that the person was very competent and as a result of that cooperation it is much easier for the person to get their vehicle back
I’m surprised you don’t have dolly’s to put on the front wheels. I’ve seen others tow with the dolly’s on front wheels for front wheel drive and AWD cars.

Most people are pretty cool about it. By the time we show up, they have had countless chances to setup a payment arrangement.
Unfortunately is is a preview of hard times coming for more people who can't pay. Hope she makes it ok.
In my country that is illegal. You need a police warrant to seize people's property like that.
Nothing is being seized? It’s a repossession.
The lady didn’t own the car. The bank/lender is the lawful owner.
They are aware what they need to pay. The appropriate notices are sent out that lists the amount needed to clear the default. A lot of times these are ignored as the person has the it will not happen to me mentality. I know first hand how it works as I send the repossession order for vehicles in default.

This type of situation is also why it's important to have public transit, give people the option to get to work, especially lower wages employees are slaves to car ownership costs.

"They have every right to take back their assets when people don't pay". But for some reason, that logic apparently no longer applies to landlords anymore.
