- In this video , you will learn how to do line balancing for layouts.
Line balancing is used to assign individual tasks to workstations for a desired output rate.
Idle time and the number of workstations are minimized.
Steps followed in line balancing:
1. Draw Precedence diagram
2. Calculate cycle time
3. Theoretical number of workstations
4.Workstation Assignments
5. Efficiency
#linebalancing #productlayouts #cycletime #takttime #efficiency.

Perfectly explained & thanks for providing the reference books for further research & study based on their production process complexity tasks.
Thank you for the explanation! I have a project about production layouts and my teacher didn't really explain how to use line balancing, but you did!
Absolutely amazing. Clear and precisely explained. Thank you.
Very very nice Lecture Ma'am,
I follow your teaching when I hv to know the clear concept
Crisp and clear mam. Keep uploading.
Saved a life here. So grateful.
Very clear presentation
Wow so great, very easily understand
Awesome video. Thank you
Excellent explanation, generally Indian are awesome in explaining
You saved my day. This video was very helpful for my assignment.
I have gone through many videos , none of them have understood. This video is cleared all my doubts . Thank you so much maam. God bless you.
Most welcome 😊

Best!
Very nicely explained.....
Thanx...
Good affect
Thank you !! Your the best !
Thanks a lot mam 🙏🙏🙏
Great explanation I understood all the things at once without any doubts.
Mam please also upload the videos for Johnson Rule ,Time series methods of forecasting, facility planning methods such as factory rating ,weight score method,Load distance method and also Centre of gravity. It will be great help for the students like me.
thank you so much madam..pls keep making such videos
Perfect description
Glad you liked the video
Great!! Nice explanation. Thanks Karpagam mam 😊
Most welcome sir.
Nice fluent explanation .
Thanks for liking suresh chandra

Stay tuned for more such videos
Thank you 😍✌️
Thank you so much ma'am ❤
thank you so much ma'am.
Smart. Brilliant. Clear. Thank you. You have one on inventory management?
Thanks Kabugo Kusain. Please mention the topic that you need. Will share the videos and share it across.
thank you so much
Thanku 🥰
from 2023, thank you, ma'am.
Thank you so much
You're most welcome Gyaneshwar Goud
Thank you so much mam 💟
Most welcome 😊Mohammed Ubaid Shaikh
Good presentation. How to improve the efficiency of the line balancing ?. When it will reach 100 %
Hi Mam
I would like to know if is possible to compute lower bound on required no of workstations
thank you ma'am
beautiful voice ma'am
thank you so much maam
Nice video
Thanks
In the last minute if exam I saw your video it is really crisp and clear
That's great to hear Chauhan Ajay. Wish you all the best for your exams
Hi Karpagam! Thank you very much for the explanations! :) Could you recommend some books to read on Line Balancing and Kanban, please? Thank you! :)
Hi MM, I follow these books for Kanban and assembly line
1. Kanban made simple - John M Gross and Kenneth R Mcinnis
2. Kanban controlled manufacturing systems- George Krieg
3. Assembly Line Balance- Thomas Shropshire
4. Assembly Line Balance - Waldemar Grzechca
I'm glad that you enjoyed the video.
Thank you ma'am
Thank you too for watching this video and liking it
Cycle time is 2 in actual and 2.4 is theorethical. So can we say what you found at the end as efficiency is theorethical not actual efficiency? Otherwise instead of 2.4, 2 should be used...
Thank you
You're welcome
Bettter explaination than my proffesor Kirit at a premier B-school
kirit ghosh nmims
I have undersood this method mam tnq...but i need line balancing layout with followers method
Sure Imran. I will make a video and share the link with you shortly.
@@karpagamqtcorner8764 ok mam thank you
How to calculate smoothness index for above problem?
Nice one mam, if line effeciency is 73% then OEE will much less than 73% am I correct?
Yes Sir, you are right. OEE will be less than the line efficiency
Isn’t takt time different from cycle time? So do we need to take takt time or cycle time in the formula?
Takt time and cycle time are different. Cycle time is the average time taken to complete the activity whereas takt time refers to the time between the start time of the one activity and subsequent activity. We have to consider cycle time only
Super woman 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Hello Mam, if the available time is 8 hours equal 480 min. and the sum. of time is 8.75 min. its mean that the Deli company only can make around 54 pizza in 8 hours. How they can fulfill the demand which is 200 pizza in 8 hours?
I thought the actual cycle time will be 2 rather...why did you use 2.4 when calculating the efficiency
73% efficiency is after we balance the line?? kindly let me know what balancing is done here, the tasks are same in sequence
Thank you madam but I did not understand the last part
If 4 is the actual workstation how to calculate.
Ma'am, isn't takt time different with cycle time, is it?
How to assign when no of followers and task time both are same?
How to find out the length of critical path mam
why did it turn out to be 5 stations and not 6, cause cycle time is 2.4, activity F is 1.5, and activity G is 0.5, which is 2.5 and more than 2.4, which should not be. please explain
Activity F and activity G turns out to be only 2 minutes, whereas the available time is more than 2 mins. Because of the cushion in total time, it is accommodated in station 5
WHy we are not doing D and E Seperately in task order??
D and E are burst activity. The activity which has the longest time will be given the preference
11:56 how to find out the length of the critical path
Two type of Product is out put
dont get it the last part
Process is Clear
but not Concept (After C Parallel Process than F& G Series
Bhaq samajh me nahi aaya ! How to assign no of element in diffrent w.s
The photo is not readable
Baids gather 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Very clear presentation
Glad you think so!
