    I don't think topping or bottoming should have anything to do with submissiveness. You can be a total top but submissive, or a total bottom but dominant (power bottom). Like I'm a total top, but I would not say that I'm submissive or dominant, more like passive.

    • @misanthrophex
      @misanthrophex 2 месяца назад +4

      I personally dislike this outlook that many people have of domination and submission, top and bottom. Sex is about cooperation, and that's regardless of sexuality. If you're a person who just wants to dominate another person in bed, you need psychiatric help. You can be dominant if that's what works for your situation, but if what you want is to dominate another person, as opposed to looking what works for everyone involved, that's not healthy. Actually it's toxic IMO, and such people aren't really having sex, it's something else that's happening there, something related to r*pe, or at least it stems from a similar place...

    The labels suck… but maybe because I came out too late to be a twink, and I never really fit the mold of any other label, so what was I, exactly? How do you ‘market’ yourself if none of the labels fit you? Does that make you unattractive? Now I don’t really care because I’m no longer active. I got tired of mediocre casual sex and soul crushing ‘social apps’

      These days, people have become OBSESSED with labels! I'm 35 and everybody I grew up with was anti-labels and never wanted to be put into a box. All logic and common sense and practical reasoning is lost. People box themselves SO much, they are doing the opposite of "finding themselves" and growing as a person. It's really weird to see so many people these days with that mindset, and even worse when it's older people. (Btw- not talking about the people here necessarily or just the labels being used here, I'm speaking more generally..in case it wasn't already obvious for some people).

    Being a non-binary otter I gotta say I've encountered a lot of rejection from the bear community and have never felt welcomed. There seems to be a lot of hang-ups on masculinity and it feels very put on, which is funny because a lot of bears love drag queens and drag culture, but would never consider getting with someone who is a little femme presenting or isn't beefy enough. I think a lot of that probably has to do with our natural attractions, and a reaction to growing up battling fatphobia, so bear culture is a great part of celebrating bigger bodies which is great. But it can go too far and become quite exclusionary. Of course I understand that this is a generalization, but that has been my experience. Love me some bears though, I'm open to many different types. I wish people were a little more open minded in general, but patriarchy/internalized shit is a real bitch.

    ... So we're just gonna act like fatphobia isn't a blaring issue in the gay dating scene? We need to acknowledge that the overwhelming "preference" on dating apps are twinks/thin people and guys aren't shy about expressing their fatphobia towards non-twinks. I said "preference" because they are rooted in biases, social prejudices, and beliefs which stem from systems of oppression like racism, ableism, homophobia, fatphobia, transphobia, classism, colorism... the list goes on. I appreciate the dialog. I think next time a more diverse gay cast would have allowed for a more indepth conversation that is more represenative of the collective gay dating and social experiences with the topics discussed. Because let's be honest maybe 2 of them are 200lbs. Most all of them are hwp, thin, or average and don't experience the brunt of body shaming and fatphobia in the queer community, hence their lack of awareness and misguided belief that thin/average/twink body types are in anyway less desired, experience more discrimination, or mistreatment in the gay community. There's even racial prejudice & major race based ostrisim in the bear community... but that's another topic.

      Sigh, no. GTFO. A lot of people are simply not interested in overweight people. That isn't fatphobia and it isn't any of those other things you listed. So eternally tired of people like you.
      Oh, and a more "diverse" cast wouldn't change a damn thing because some "diverse" groups of people are so protected you can't say a damn thing about them that is even just slightly negative, so people wouldn't say how they truly feel and just walk on eggshells around these people.

      I believe you're overthinking this. Obesity is rarely attractive to people, gay or straight, and it's not rooted in any sort of phobia or prejudice. It's the same across world cultures, and throughout history, because it's hardwired into our mate selection instincts, and those instincts tell us that certain specimens aren't ideal mate choices. The same applies with prematurity, advanced age, asymmetrical facial characteristics, and most things which would be typically regarded as outside the conspectus of physical "normality". There are always exceptions, however, even if such attractions fall under the ambit of various offroad "fetishes". Still and all, there's no excuse for the debasing or shaming of others, simply because thy're outside the spectrum of what one considers physically attractive.

      You're literally just spouting victim words lol. Not wanting to date a fat person is not "fatphobia", it's called having a preference like any normal person? I used to be fat btw. I would never say someone hates me because they don't want to date me, that's abuser behavior!

      I think twink has turned into more of look. Basically if you look young, you get labeled a twink.
      I'm 31 and still get called a twink. And I'm definitely not a twink anymore, I just still look like I'm in my 20s and haven't put on that much weight. Though I do think I fit the otter label more at this point.

    Twink -> Brian -> Bear.
    ie: Brian is just Brian, must he could be from what I've seen is him being a playful energetic cuddly little puppy. but thats more to do with personality than body type. { _maybe a twunk_ }
    just for fun get a larger panel room and try going with 20 of each: {yes, bring the hard stuff}
    twinks; bears; average {so Brian can jump in}; daddies; giraffes; jocks; otters; bulls; nerds; emos; grandpas; gamers; foxes; chubs and cubs.
    Twink can top, flip, bottom, dominate or be submissive if they want to. the same goes for bears and anyone in all the other groupings.
    More of the daddy in the blue shirt 😘 Also, who is the son and can he hang out with Brian and the rest of the squad?
    Heck, send the three in black tops my way as well.
