    I' ve always been a fan of shadow systems. Yes, they're a "Gucci Glock" company, but what sold me on them is their customer support and WARRANTY. if you are ever in a self-defense situation with a shadow systems and it gets confiscated and found you are not-liable? send in the police report if you have the gun certified by them and they will send you a new one if it is gone. That is top notch grade A customer support right there. I personally own a CR920P as my EDC and my MR920 as my home defense gun and love them both.

    Looking to pick up an MR920 soon to replace my Glock that I currently EDC. In your opinion do you think the MR920P is worth getting over the standard 920 compact or threaded barrel?
    Also do you have any preference or input as far as their bronze barrel vs the black nitride barrel?

    • @HuntFishShootChannel
      @HuntFishShootChannel  3 месяца назад +1

      No preference on barrel color other than what your color is preferred. I do think the P is worth getting over the standard if you want a comped pistol. It does shoot very soft and flat, it’s honestly crazy how much flatter it is.

I sent a gun back to them one time my MR 920 I had taken it apart in one of the spring wouldn’t come out. They sent it back within a week I had to go and I’ve never had any problems. I'v said it elsewhere several times, but why not again. I love the TTI, but I honestly think it's overpriced. I know most will disagree just because it's a Tarin collaboration. I get it, but it's still a polymer frame. Still, I'd choose it over the Shadow Systems only because I'm not a Glock guy. I learned how to shoot pistol on a G-19 many many years ago. When I finished my class, the guy thought I was going to buy a G-19 from his shop. LOL, he was disappointed when I chose something else he didn't carry. I've never had the pleasure of shooting a Shadow Systems pistol, so I can't comment at all on the pistol. BTW, I agree with whoever said this is one of the very best gun tube channels on the YTubes. So clear and to the point, gotta love it.

    I have both and am using the MR920P as my LEO duty pistol. The MR920P feels so good in the hand but that trigger on the TTI Combat is *muah*. Having them both at the range I can embarrassingly tell you I through several initial rounds with the MR902P immediately after shooting the TTI Combat. I'll be working to get the MR920P trigger to the TTI Combat standard because that will make it perfect and as fast.

    1st round you shot the canik faster on the 2nd round you ran farther and shot the canik on the 3and 4 time you are going to shoot worse each time you do that drill from being tired, you are definitely a shadow systems guy it's all over you anyone can see that. I have both of these pistols and the canik not only out shoots the shadow xr920p it also cost a good bit less all the caniks out shoot the shadow system canik S The normal rivals will out shoot the the regular shadow systems and I'm walther guy so I don't have a dog in that fight if you really want to shoot a good ,shooting pistol get you a walther PDP MATCH STEEL,,that that boy will lay sum lead but hey I'm a walther guy so You make not think so!!!!

    • @HuntFishShootChannel
      @HuntFishShootChannel  2 месяца назад

      I like Walthers a lot that’s very apparent based off the channel and videos we have done. The Canik is a great pistol but what is concerning is the number of people who have came here to tell us all the issues they have been having. Both of these pistols are retailing for 900-1100 dollars.
      For what it’s worth I don’t get tired from shooting 3 or 4 drills and only around 500 rounds in a couple hours. The video was meant to demonstrate how the XR920P or TTI performs next to each other, mostly under which shoots flatter or softer.

    Great video. I agree with pretty much everything you said. There's nothing wrong with being a fan of a company because they produce great products, as long as you don't give them a pass and you tell the truth about any issues you find. I have an XR920 with a threaded barrel, an MR920P, and a Canik SFx Rival Darkside that I bought an extra barrel for and had it ported since the slide is already cut from the factory. I really like Shadow Systems, but the Canik Rival trigger is absolutely something special. I wish Shadow Systems would come out with a performance trigger with a fully pre-cocked striker. That would be amazing to have that option from the manufacturer with warranty etc. It seems Glock aftermarket triggers with Shadow Systems are a bit of a crap shoot.

      @@HuntFishShootChannel I was very interested in the Johnny Glock Evolution X for SS. My understanding is that it also converts to a pre-cocked striker but supposedly without the issues people are having with the Timney. I reached out to them to ask a few questions, but they basically said Shadow Systems are inconsistent. Then they said: "Honestly I would stick to glocks buddy". I do agree that SS triggers are a bit inconsistent, but all of mine have been decent and certainly good enough. It is definitely Shadow Systems weakest point though.

    Shadow Systems no questions asked.
    TTI Combat for $1000, 2 more extended mags for $110 totaling $1,110 before taxes.
    The fucking piece of shit was defective. Canik took a month to mail back a gun that was still defective, now they are silent after saying they'd send out a replacement and it would be faster.
    Shameful - I let them know it was for my disabled father and they still won't get one out to him. I'll never support Canik or buy their products after that experience, and now TTI Combats just sit there collecting dust at that gun store.
    And even when the gun wasn't constantly jamming, failing to return to battery and having light strikes, all my other pistols were still better.

    A lot of people are saying great things about the Shadow Systems, must be something to it. I have a couple of Caniks that I really like. The industry is getting downright confusing, in a good way, because seems like it's hard to go wrong because every company is innovating so fast. Guess it's been about 10 years ago I had a Glock 17 and a VP9 and was totally happy. Now I have a safe full of great pistols all of which I like for different reasons.
    I've been a fan of having a pistol and a PCC for a long time that are compatible. I live near the mountains and like back country so for some years I've had a Ruger 19122 PCC and a Glock 17 that works great for backpacking, snowmobiling, camping, etc. Long thoughts short, there are simply so many great pistols right now it's daunting. Despite the fact I really like my Caniks, for me choosing between the TTI and the Shadow I'd probably go with the Shadow because it takes Glock mags and I have a bunch of those and I could still pair it with the Ruger PCC.
    I do have a question for all those who are better gunners than I am. How would you compare the higher end M&P series to pistols like the TTI and the Shadow Systems?
    Every time I go to Scheels/other big box or one of the other dozens of great small shops where I live I always see something that I guess I kind of knew was around but never thought about it. Other day at the D&B Supply a retired cop I know runs the gun section and he showed me an M&P 4" steel and the foldable M&P PCC. The M&P felt really nice in a store setting which can be misleading and I have plenty of 5" pistols so I'm considering those two guns. Never had an M&P for no real reason other than there is so much variety I never got around to looking into them.

      Very well written and thought out comment! I have a tidy bit of information I have always disliked the M and P pistols until two days ago, I bought a M&P competitor and love it. It is one of the best shooting and feeling striker fired guns I own!

      @@HuntFishShootChannel Appreciate the response. I'm hearing more and more of my friends that never had M&Ps but got one and really like the new ones. They always seemed kind of clunky and sort of cheap before but I guess someone over there decided to make some great guns. Even cooler to me about the industry is that really nice guns don't have to be expensive anymore and they come out of the box with tons of stuff you'd have to custom upgrade before.
      I've always liked Walther from Bond movies growing up so I picked up a PDP 3 years ago or so. Was inexpensive so didn't really expect much, now I have 4 PDPs. Outside of annoying my wife with my pistol purchases, industry is exponentially more fun and accessible financially now than at any time in my life.

I contacted them and in 2 days I had a recoil spring in my mailbox and over 700 rounds now. Zero fte. They respond fast and have taken care of me on that issue.

    Owning a ton of handguns, including Shadow Systems, suggests that 3000 plus on one gun versus 800 plus on another doesn't show a non-biased approach. I just purchased a Canik TTI (Canik first) because of their reputation. I did the same thing with Shadow Systems. The XR920 shoots better with a Radian Ramjet/Afterburner than the standard XR920P. Shadow triggers are better than Glock but far worse than other options out there. I have been doing this for 70 years. It just boils down to what fits you as a shooter and what you are willing to forfeit given your stage in life. I did 30 as an agent transitioning from wheel gun through the 9, 10s, 40, and 45. On any given day working, I might carry a 45 over anything else just because of the psychological effect it had when a subject saw the "BIG" hole at the end of the barrel or just knew what kind of gun it was in my holster. I do prefer "made in the USA" vs OCONUS, but I am not stupid enough to ignore Walter, Sig (German), Beretta, Perazzi, etc. All guns have their place. Keep up the reviews. I do enjoy your opinions.

    First there is zero comparison in the triggers. But this is not a precision rifle. It’s a pistol. I have a Canick pro combat with an amazing trigger and I shoot my p365xl better. Triggers are not the end all in pistols. If they were we’d all buy walther PDPs. So much more to a pistol than the trigger. The ergonomics of the shadow systems is just so good.

      @HuntFishShootChannel  2 месяца назад +1

      You are right the trigger is not the most important factor for a pistol and I have found a mediocre trigger on a better shooting/flatter shooting gun is better than a great trigger on a snappier or muzzy flipping gun.

      I have the exact opposite experience. My G45 with RJAB doesn’t produce nearly a tight pattern compared to my XR920P. Especially at 25 yards. I also don’t like the angle of the Glock compared to the neutral backstrap that comes with the SS. Plus my trigger finger if I don’t get a good grip causes me to not pull straight back on the trigger on speed draw. The stippling throughout on the SS plus how it just overall balances better its weight distribution I feel for me makes for a better shot placement.
