dude, you are the perfect person for this. So good!!
Thanks so much Rhett!! Next time I’ll have to drive north a couple more hours and say hey to you guys!
Rhett, thanks again for shining a light on Dylan on your channel! This is how the community grows in a healthy way! 👏👏👏
I'm old enough to have seen Duane play three times before he passed....he was special as was the band .... they're the reason I play guitar today....
Nice job playing and keeping Duane's shoes shined.....
I've been listening and playing these Allman Brothers tunes since 1971. Glad to see you and your young generation taking the same interest in keeping Duane and Dickies inspirational tunes alive.
You are such a great ambassador for the band and the museum! You are doing a great job growing your social media channels! Much respect! 👏👏👏
Thanks so much for the kind words! I’m just so stoked to have the opportunity to share all this with everyone
Buqg
I love that you said “Original” Allman Bros.
I’m 64 yr. old. Grew up listening to the Allman Brothers. I also play guitar and they were a big influence on me. Glad to see a young dude like you really appreciating what they did.
What an honor! Good times and making some forever memories, too.
I'm sure Duane would be smiling knowing a player of your caliber was putting his axes through their paces. Love all the stuff you do Dylan. God bless and Rock on!🎸
Dylan- You are more than deserving of the honor! The exposure you're granting the band and museum, coupled with your intense reverence, prove you more than worthy of their small act of recognition. Your frightening skill on guitar is, by itself, necessarily deserving of observance by any objective measure. IMHO, They were lucky to have found you. Congrats!
You legend , cheers from New Zealand
Thank you for keeping the music alive . This is the stuff that was new when i was a kid . Seems , with all the hip hop + rap generation your a unique individual. Your a savior of the Golden age of Rock guitar licks . Thank - You ! That jr sounded amazing .
Great video Dylan, thank you!!
You deserve that honor young man. Your playing is so inspiring. Thank you for sharing.
@2:09 - when reading the poster for the Easter Sunday Night Spectacular -
"and all the rest formally of the Second Coming"
I can't help myself. . . . that almost certainly should be "formerly".
even back in the "old days" people were bad at English, lol.
also at 2:11 - "ALLMAND" Brothers band ?? I wonder if that was actually a name. Not like I have memorized the history/genealogy/family tree
I get bogged down in the trivia.
grateful for your footnotes on the guitars & history while you were playing.
very happy for you that you could experience this. it's well deserved that they reached out to you.
Right on, Dylan. You deserve that.
Suggestion: If you put words on the screen, and actually want us to read them, then leave em up a little longer than that. It's difficult to Rewind and Pause, especially on a handheld. Just my 2¢.
Keep up the great licks!
😱😱😱 Congrats! That’s totally incredible that the museum extended an invitation - and Ty for sharing it with us!
Looking forward to the next slide video too! I’ve been practicing with your first one. 😎🛝🎸
What an absolute honor and dream come true. Congrats brother!!!! You sound great too. Keep up the great work!!!!
What an honor and opportunity, you did him very proud on it also. Congratulations
Dylan, I bet Duane was looking down smilin on you bro. Congrats and thank you so much for sharing man. Awesome
I enjoy all the text you add in editing lol. It’s cool having real time Dylan and editing Dylan both talking at the same time
I find reading the text annoying as it takes your eyes off the filming
THANK'S FOR SHARING!!!
Your smile at 2:38 is priceless!
I need to make it back to The Big House to see some of the items that have been added. I know it was a real treat for you to be able to play the guitars. I know it would be for me. I remember Duane talking about the DC Junior and always wondered who ended up with it. I was in Baptist Hospital in Nashville, TN recovering from a leg injury I got in a motorcycle accident when my Daddy came in with tears in his eyes telling me that Duane had passed. I was devastated and crying like a baby.
Wow, what a privilege that must have been to know Duane. Can’t imagine what a devastating loss it must have been at the time, I was born 25 years after his death and it even crushes me to think about what he could’ve done if he had had more time. That said, we’re lucky to have the music he was able to share with us.
the gold top is usually on loan during the summer months and goes back in the fall/winter
Wonderful video Dylan! Great playing as always.
Also, can't wait for that next instruction video. I am learning slide in standard.
Right on Dylan! Very cool!
so cool thanks for the video and thanks Jack for recording. Great to see your subs grow. Already to 11.9 !
Keep these up man! Loving the content.
Awesome video Dylan!
Very cool, and a true honor.
That’s just fabulous! Congratulations! Whenever I see things written about Duane, or the band, I’m always astute on the accuracy of the content. I’m kind of a stickler for the truth, and there’s a fair amount of… let’s call it improvisation al journalism out there. The ABB are a band that was a passion for me over the years. I remember listening to the live WPLJ gig from NYC when I was in 8th grade. I put a cassette recorder mic at the radio speaker. 😲 Anyway, everything I’ve seen you post is always spot on. Thank you! I sent you a picture on Instagram messenger of my biggest thrill.. 2004 playing with Dickey at a party in Myakka, Fl. 🎸🎸
What a great opportunity and I believe it was well deserved. Always great to hear you play! I have had similar experiences were I got to play some very special guitars and its always great when people are generous with such rare objects.
That was too cool. What an honor that was and thanks for taking us along for the ride!
Great playing!
Dude! You have a lot of class. You have inspired to go back to all the allman brothers songs I used to play and try and play slide. When I was your age I played slide with my little finger and I cut down a glass slide to make it smaller. Ha who knew. I never got that far with it. Cheers!
Cool! Thanks for sharing! Hope you get a chance to play the gold top someday.
Excellent video! Many thanks
Super cool the opportunity they gave you! Seemed like super nice guys and you’ll remember that day the rest of your life I’m sure! Glad your getting noticed man you deserve it!
My best friend and I are driving up to Jacksonville to see you on 4/20! Can’t wait for a kick ass show! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Hell yeah, be sure to come say hey in between sets! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
@@dylanadamsguitar will do!
I never say I'm jealous, but I'm jealous😜
Great Tones Dylan ....
Great Videos.
The Jr. with P-90 sounds the best !!
Thanks, Dylan!
Went to the house last year! Absolutely beautiful place and the staff were phenomenal!
Really cool to see and hear all the stories about them!
10/10 recommend
Oooohhh... Duane estaria muy orgulloso de ti, tu eres una super-evolucion de el, el en su momento fue el mejor, y ahora lo eres tu, alucino contigo, un abrazo desde España. Gracias.
So happy for you! Don't you just love the feel of a LP Jr/ Melody Maker neck?
Love this. I want the same thing. To grab a slide and add a certain dynamic to any song any time. One thing that is hard to decide on is neck radius. (I’m building a guitar and can choose). I’d want something between 9.5 and 16, and if I don’t care, I don’t see why I wouldn’t go 16. I feel most comfortable on Martin acoustics anyway, so why not?
Well deserved brother 👏
LOVE IT MAN!!!!
So stoked for you to get that opportunity. Your name is getting out there. Well deserved.
Great playing
WOW! That is awesome.
Good on ya for your dedication to the art of playing slide. That LP Junior is the real deal. Do you typically turn down the tone on the guitar when playing slide. Duane and his music are legendary, love it.
Love this!!
Very cool man! Great videos thus far - each one is valuable information!
Thanks Jesse!!
What an honor. Thats awesome man.
Sounds so good
Good for you man-you did it justice and you have an awesome memory!
Excellent !!
When I first heard you play, I knew you were rooted in the ABB. What an honor for you. You deserve it, and you're keeping this amazing music alive.🎸😉
It's got to be such a surreal feeling to be holding that guitar and just thinking about that history. We all know that "first guitar feeling" - the initial frustration and then elation of figuring things out - realizing that the guitar was going to become a part of your life. All that happened for Duane with that guitar you were holding. 😲
Thanks for the inside look!
Thats so awesome I'm super stoked for you!!!!! Bravo and you sound great as always!!
That’s amazing! Great playing as usual 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Why did Duane never record with this ? IT SOUNDS GREAT !
Awesome!
Amazing! And those amps looked incredible!!
Shoutt out to the Japanese collector that loaned it to the museum. He didn't have to do that.
Man, I’m really happy for you. Really great. I’m sure you will get a chance to play the gold top next time. Thanks for sharing. All the best to ya.
Way to go Dylan keep rockin!
Very, very cool!!!!
I love that you are really throwing yourself into this new reality Rhett's video created for you. It is truly a *joy* to watch your YT journey from its inception. You're doing great!
You're certainly the right guy to play those guitars, Dylan!
Wow!
Fantastic video, pure history.
Very very cool!!!!!
So sick man. You sounded great. Heard a couple licks from Mean Ol World I believe. Made me wanna go listen to it did the first time in years.
Soooooooo happy for you!!! 🎸😎🎶🎵
Dude you are such a monster
Beyond cool.
That’s too cool, I’m so jealous
"Thanks so much for the kind words! I’m just so stoked to have the opportunity to share all this with everyone"... The pleasure was mine! Didn't Duane change the wraparound bridge to a tunamatic bridge on the Junior...? Slide-on.....................!
Richard Brent is a rad dude, and the big house is killer
Your video and playing gave me goose bumps. Used to see ABB in Jax and Jax beach before they cut their first album. They were just a really good bar band back then. 🙂
Dylan you did those guitars proud! Duane would have enjoyed your playing style. JG
Must have been a very surreal moment! Happy for you man.
Very surreal indeed!
Now THAT was cool!
so sick
👏👏👏👏👏
Very cool
Deserving person playing a piece of history ... yes, imagine Duane learning his first licks and yes, he was 24 when he left us ... just let that sink in - thanks, Dylan!
My man !
Loved it. Was there any pedal used with the Vibrolux, or was that straight into the amp?
Straight into the amp! It’s one of those Custom Vibroluxes, the thing was breaking up at 3 on the volume. Had two Eminence blue frame speakers in it, sounded awesome!
Wow. You didn’t just play AT the alter. You PLAYED the alter!
Definitely feel like I’m on sacred ground any time I’m there, but this time takes the cake!
I know he went on to Les Pauls and SGs but this guitar sounds great too!
Hey you're in my town.
Dude!!
Much better slide tone than Rhett. Excellent.
Stand Back... perfect.
🤘
WAY COOL..!✌🏼😎
If anyone deserves to play his guitar it’s a handful of people and your definitely one one of them!
