If the Ukrainians are doing this well without having an air force, it's easy to imagine what will happen when they get one.
They have a strong aerospace industry, with cooperation they can build their own. Though no one is willing to do that cooperation for some strong reasons.
The problem is that they are NOT doing well. Russians have air superiority but not air dominance, because NATO provides a lot of missiles which can shot down airplanes easily. Air superiority is not good enough for a Russian quick win, but Ukraine is struggling, and is still gradually losing ground despite fighting hard.
