Later in the game there are a lot of enemies that can self-cleanse, cancel your buffs, or just cut your turns. I built hilda to clean-up enemies with dragoon dive and stuck the cat hood on Travis since he can steal more pp and the unit was wayyy more consistent. Great guide!
The prince int buff is marked as the start of battle so he doesn't need to go fast to trigger. You can give the gambit to the witch that target unfrozen enemies. The cavalry as a 4 is great because it can wild charge stun and then the witch freeze. Clearing anything that survived the freeze bomb
I would be careful with that because start of battle conflicts with other start of battle abilities. So if there was a sword master on the other side with higher initiative then their beginning of battle attack would kill Gilbert straight off
@@questrygaming1811they only conflict if the skills says (limited). If a skill that activates at the same conditions, but isn't limited, then both will activate.
Your Gilbert will get one shotted before acting against any team with offensive action before the fight start like Swordfighter, High level thieves eventually depending on the bulk of your Gilbert by then and i think some units of Bastoria too. Likewise this setup is instantly shut down by any high level witch because they instant cast ice coffin before your wyvern can act effectively freezing it and then wrecking your entire team. Same goes for counter blind strategies. It's a fun setup but as any setup that overly relies on one unit to do damage it will get annihilated more and more often as you progress through the game.
dont forget quick debuff. It will auto cancel the quick impetus cast. I learned that the hard way when clearing the Colosseum. I had to create a shieldshooter just to counter the counter.
Maybe a fifth provoke fighter could help with that. I also ended up using a shieldshooter as the support and just have her use Bulwark from one of the great shields. Still testing, but it feels ok.
There's a million really strong combos. The thing is that many of them can get hard walled by certain team compositions especially in the late game where mass freeze, bind and stun are becoming very common. Overall I find that they best teams are the ones where the entire team covers each other weaknesses and you rely as little as possible on one strategy because if that strategy is countered your entire unit becomes completely useless. The most effective strat I find across the board right now is to have as many pursuit users for the physical attackers with some decent aoe magic damage to get rid of the bulky front lines. Archers and Wizards, especially after promotion, fit this perfectly. Slap on a good thank that can use a cover passive, a way to heal overtime and you're good to go. But unfortunately some fun strategies just get demolished against common enemies later on either because some classes learn problematic spells to deal with as they get high levels (archer learning counter fly for example is a death sentence to most flyers) or because newly introduced have really disrupting like blinding your entire freaking row anytime you try to do any sort of attack.
Not totally true if you know what are you doing, and you have plenty of itemd that can nulify the effects, you already have plenty of strats to work around
Seems like a more complex version of just trinity rain that is more consistent and faster. This whole setup requires having the divine shard cat ears anyway, so trying to make this mid-game is kinda useless when the other option is available before even hitting the second region. You can also just use a tailwind acc to buff Fran with a wyvern reins so they true-strike cleave an entire frontline or backline in one hit first strike. It's far more reliable while allowing your front row to clean up whatever's left. Wyvern is only useful for their initiative down at battle start, but otherwise is still pretty bad.
Wyvern is far from bad even without factoring in their roar. They work on better on some comps then griffon and griffon works better on other ones. Notably they are preferred on comps based around debuffs (your comp with berengaria should have a wyvern for their fire breath for example as well as relatively early access to a truestrike accessory specifically for fliers makes them your go to on such comps for dealing with thieves werefoxes fliers and other evade units. They also actually do well in the coliseum for the burn damage that bypasses radiant knight’s block by being physical allowing you to make debuff comps that should be able to handle the entire coliseum with levels in the 20s. If you need the backline burned all at once there is little that even competes with them and even with the staff that burns a whole row druid still doesn’t contribute as much to debuff comp since radiant knights block them because they are magic. There are few classes that are just a downgrade from another just ones that fill one roll that they share but also have other rolls that they don’t and this is where their usage diverges. You should use them both just with different things. Plus if you wanna get to an objective as fast as possible you’d need both of their valor skills hasten call the wyvern ( and everyone near them) then have them dragoon jump when the enemy is in range to skip that last bit with a burst of mobility
I don’t min max teams. I put them together based on the stories and waifu 😂. For example I put all berengaria, Travis, and Bruno together since they shared same backstory.
You can bypass Hilda's Growth-traits by either using a mirror-item and change it (for this setup I'd recommend Offensive & Precise) and/or increasing Rapport-levels with possible characters (if any apply; tecnically at least one should be possible since you can replace Primm with anyone). A lot of people haven't realized yet that Rapport-levels do give you extra stats. I'm not sure if the same is possible with generic units but if that's not the case that would make unique units stronger in some cases.
Wyvern riders are my fave unit. Always liked dragons in these types of games and you are right they are lackluster until they get the dragoon spear. I have my witch buffing my gryphon and my wyvern team i have 2 healers (they can remove any status or debuffs) and 2 wyverns (now at 5 character cap per unit so Berengaria added just for fun/her stun is good and the -initiative and attack from her warrior princess passive) but ill try gilbert and your setup ty for details!
It's also obtainable in at least one shop in Albion at higher level. Also there's the same in all elements and I'd argue that the thunder version is much stronger overall as stun is often a lot more useful than ice unless you make good use of ice (there's a few items and skills that have fun interactions with frozen targets).
Don't execute the black talon flame bow guy from the ochlys misson (good idea to let gammel go as well) finish the rescue mission (scarlet), go to elmhime on the marker, go south to meet a friendly griffin rider and start the quest and finish it, should keep in mind it is like 18 levels or above if I remember correctly and there are other ways to get it (just can't remember where I seen it)
Don't execute the black talon flame bow fellow (extremely important for the feather) for the Feathersword quest, and gammel as well (Let him go), after that go to elmhime (or finish the rescue quest, go to elmhime on the marker) and go a bit south where your find a friendly griffin rider, then complete the quest and you should have it, but the level is 18 or higher if I remember. This is one way to get it and current the only I know of (believe I seen it somewhere else)
I don't believe you. I was using a setup similar to this prior to seeing this video, and there's no way you can beat the final arena boss at those levels. She took like 18 dmg from a dragoon dive that was buffed.
@@Constellasian you are correct. The strategy I used involved subbing in a radiant knight and shieldshooter for a couple of the end battles. The strat is still using the Wyvern freeze tho. I should say I cleared 90% of the arena with this team

In Bastorias you can get an item called Sniper’s Amber Lens which gives you guaranteed hit and crit for 2pp

They don’t need dragoon spear to be good. Even their fire breath can be very useful for some comps
I see we are continuing the FE tradition of strong wyvern riders
No gilbert :(
Saint Knight negates this strat due to Magic Barrier
Thx I fought someone who used this didn’t know how to counter
Where do you get the ice conferral ability?
In the tower on the far west of the swamp where you recruit Yahna. It’s right behind the west-most town. Just walk up to it and press interact.

Good one but Arrow Shower+hoplite is still better. This is why Yunifi is the best unique.
Better than Amalia? She’s going off for 250+ damage for me and she can do that twice
