    Yamaha MT10 has one of the most unique and polarizing appearances in the sport naked world.

    So many people get hung up on the objective specifications of a bike, when it's the subjective points you just talked about that really tell the true story. I wish all bike journalists were that honest.

      Now that is a garage to be envious of! Given what I have seen of those first-gen FZ1 models (being surprisingly comfortable powerhouses), let me guess: 60000 kms (37000 miles)?

    I am doubting between buy the monster 1200 standard (with additional quicksifter) and the mt10, which would you buy for daily use, routes and some circuit entry?

      @@jace2wheel762 beside 1/4 mile professional racers I don't know any normal rider who cares about top end. What fun is top end. There is a reason all bikes are moving towards torque now. Nobody wants to drive over 100 mph and if they do it's only a couple times. Hitting a rock, potholes or fallen mufflers on the road at 150mph is the end of your life. I don't drive at a maintained track and I highly doubt you do either so what's the point when you really think about real world practicality
      All the fun is between 0 to 60 mph and some spurts up to 100mph.

      @@jace2wheel762 and if you want to talk about weight I don't know what spec sheet you using but the 1290 is roughly the same weight with more upgrades mechanically, electronically and with almost 1/3 more power. The spec sheet I seen was a 2020
      Tunono = 448 dry
      123 hp
      75 torque
      KTM 1290=416 dry
      180hp

    Great video. I have to say though. I owned an FZ-09 for many years, just sold it and am looking to buy another one. I’ve ridden the FZ-10 and really liked it, but I’m just not enthralled to step up to it. I was able to test ride the 1290 at your dealership this past summer, I was very excited as it’s been my dream bike for the past couple years. However to my dismay I was EXTREMELY underwhelmed with the 1290, maybe my opinion would change if I owned it as a daily bike. But I felt like all the money was spent on the toys and gimics on the bike, and it left me feeling very disconnected riding it.

      However, I forgot to mention, it is still the sexiest, cleanest looking, meanest sounding machine.

    • @apexcycle1481
      @apexcycle1481  6 лет назад +1

      That is interesting - you may be right that a little more saddle time might help. It is a cool bike in the fact that, if you are riding with traffic, it rides smooth and is not demanding. Wick it up when things open up and that is where it is a beast. It has surprising top end power for a V-Twin. If that gives you an excuse to take it for another test ride or two, than win-win!

    Something not covered here is fuel economy. With the always increasing price of fuel it would have been nice to know the difference. I own a 2018 MT-10, and know for a fact that the KTM Super Duke can get 3 times the distance on a full tank. Yamaha you have made one of the worst bikes on fuel.

      Thanks, Ted! We have to admit that we chose our favourites from what our brands have to offer and, considering what they're offering, we do get bikes that are at or near the top in their respective fields. Now, if we were to extend an offer to a bike we do not have immediate access to, the Tuono would be on the top of the list!

    • @apexcycle1481
      @apexcycle1481  4 года назад

      We certainly can't comment on behalf of everyone else but we know that we are big fans. Our boss has his choice of bikes in the shop to pick as his personal demo and last year it was the CB1000R with an Arrow pipe - it was the total package! We weren't yet carrying the street models for Honda when this video was shot or it would have definitely been featured.
