Idk if these were never released internationally or if they just never really took off where I live, but over here, kids just learned to bake 😂 I was baking cakes without parental supervision at age 10 because my parents knew I could be trusted to do so by then, I'd been baking for a couple of years by then! Only thing they would help with was taking it out of the oven, because our oven was built in way up high 😂
My mom was the same way. Yes, the big oven is nice, but I just wanted a teeny tiny oven to do science experiments in- actually I see why my mom didn’t get me one now…
I had a recipe for yogurt based cake (so all measurement were in yogurt pots) with visuals that I had gotten from kindergarten. I must have been 5 and didn't know how to read yet, and the teacher gave us all those recipes to do at home. Never needed a weird plastic lightbulb fake oven, just baked with a family member like anyone would. At least in France I guess.
OMG. My daughter bought me an Easy Bake oven 20 years ago. I always wanted one as a child as well. I never used it though until last week when she was visiting and we decided to bake a cake together with my granddaughter. It was so much fun. I had no idea if the oven would even work after 20 years. Lo and behold it did! It was so much fun! Thanks for the nostalgia. ❤

Was just watching jonny cakes compilation when saw this in my recommended!! Was such a fun and funny video. Also baking different dessert and baked goods in easy bake oven is a fun idea for a series, would love to watch that!!

I had that exact easy-bake oven that you showed in the beginning. I think I maybe only used it once or twice but it helped to jumpstart my love of baking.
I had one of these growing up, i made exactly one cake with it before my parents decided it wasn’t worth the hastle anymore lol. I remember keeping the grabby stick thing and sword fighting my brother with it
Hi Johny, I was talking to my parents about some of your hyper realistic cakes while we watched Bake Off the other night. You are so talented and have wonderful energy :) love from Washington State
I so enjoyed watching this video, Jonny! Like you, I didn't have an Easy Bake oven as a kid, but my sister gave me one as an adult, which was such a fun surprise. My son has it now.
The biggest reason you shouldn’t eat cookie or cake batter isn’t just eggs, it’s because of the flour! Flour is considered raw and can carry all kinds of bacteria in it that are not safe unless you bake it! So a good way to avoid this is bake your flour on a sheet pan before hand then you can probably eat as much dough as you want!
Your outfit looks so cute today Jonny! And the cake turned out great! I loved my Easy Bake Oven that looked like a little microwave because you could actually see where the lightbulb was so your cake turned out even! Still yours turned out awesome for your first Easy Bake Oven attempt! Great job! 🍰
I had an Easy Bake Oven when I was a young child in the late 1960s or early 1970s and I just loved it. My older sisters also had fun making little cakes in it too. My parents were very strict about us following safety precautions when using the Easy Bake Oven as improper use could result in a fire. I’m not exactly sure of what happened to my Easy Bake Oven. I just remember going to school one morning and it was there and when I returned home it was gone. I’m not sure if that particular model had been recalled by the manufacturer and my parents returned it or what happened. I was not too disappointed since by that time I had almost completed the first grade and because of how I had used my Easy Bake Oven my parents allowed me to bake using the actual oven in the kitchen. I remember in the second grade every Friday afternoon a different student in the classroom would bring in cookies or cupcakes for everyone to share. The other students always brought in store bought treats. The teacher was impressed when she learned from mother that the treats I brought in were made by myself and not mother. I personally thought your little wedding cake was adorable. My only advice for you would be #1 use a plain type batter in the Easy Bake Oven as I think that the batters with something extra added to them disrupts the baking time, and #2 when stacking and frosting the cakes use some type of skewer such as a single chopstick or one strand of uncooked spaghetti or something to keep the layers from moving around.
Oh, Jonny, you make me feel so much better as a fellow grown-ass adult afraid of being judged by a customer service representative! And they've honestly never been anything but kind and/or supremely disinterested. BTW, if you ever have to do a gluten free challenge, Betty Crocker's GF brownie mix is SO good, especially with a big squeeze of Hersey's. It's also super easy to make dairy-free. If you bake it in one of those edge pans, they are fairly solid to build with as well.

My uncle credits my Easy Bake Oven for him marrying my aunt. She was originally my mom’s friend and lived with us for a few months. She was dating another guy and while my uncle was visiting, I made brownies or something in my Easy Bake Oven and this boyfriend got super sick (I’m pretty sure it was unrelated, but my uncle swears I gave the guy food poisoning somehow) which allowed him to swoop in and woo mom’s friend/our roommate and now she’s my aunt! Awww! Tiny wedding cake was adorable! I used to love my Easy Bake Oven that I had when I was a kid. :) I always made those cheap little Jiffy mixes in it after I ran out of the mixes that it came with, since the Easy Bake branded refills were so expensive but the Jiffy mixes were always like 25 or 50 cents apiece or something like that. 😂 I loved those Jiffy blueberry and strawberry cornbread mixes especially, and my mom loved that the mixes were so much smaller than other baking mixes, so I wasn't opening up an entire big bag of cake mix whenever I wanted to make a tiny little cake for a teaparty. I think Jiffy even makes actual cake mixes too, but I remember trying the white and yellow cakes and them being gross. 😂 I'm sure your mixes are 1000% tastier than the Jiffy yellow cake mix was. I have fond memories of Easy Bake Jiffy cornbread when I would run out of flavors and have to use the plain version, and trying to make it fancy by layering my cornbread cakes with jam and whipped cream, almost like a strawberry shortcake. 😂 I would frost that Jiffy cornbread mini cake stuff with anything I could find in the house including canned frosting, Nutella, peanutbutter and jelly, or honey butter. Peanut butter, honey, and butter mixed together was a favorite when I was little. :) I didn't have that toy for too long, but I really loved it while I did get to play around with it. I think it ended up almost causing a fire or something, so my mom banned it from the house, and I got to start baking things in the actual oven more, with adult supervision of course. 😅
@@thejonnycakes It was pretty fun, while it lasted. :) Had to wait forever for that tiny lightbulb to cook things all the way through, but dang I felt proud of and excited by my tiny little cornbread cakes! 😂 I'm glad you finally get to play around with an Easy Bake Oven now. :) Never too late to show your inner child some love. ☺️🫶🏻

This came out looking so great! The Lego bride and groom really complete it! Ez bake should so do a colab with Jonny Cakes and make a recipe using your cake mix!! Also random note there are real contests where people make full meals only using ez bake ovens! I think ez bake use to have an official one some years back and the winners would be put in a cookbook you could buy and try to make yourself. Don’t know if they still do that or not.
I just saw a TikTok recently of a woman who’s family was fckng poisoned by the fumes that came from an Easy Bake Oven! Their lungs got fried and their oxygen levels dropped super low. The doctor’s told her if they would have gone to sleep that night and not come into the ER they would have died. Anyway! Glad that didn’t happen to you! 🤣 But if you use it again, open a window.
Ah, Easy Bake Ovens. I had one as a kid. Looked exactly like the one in the ad you played. Same colour too. Good times.. Your cake turned out really good for an Easy Bake cake. Thanks for the memories..

My mom had an easy bake oven in the 70s. then my parents bought me one in the early 2000s. i loved that thing. it looked exactly like that early 2000 commercial 😂😂 miss it so much
I miss those old school ovens. So cute
I love this! Mini croissants would be so cool 😮
Ok but the Tiny Cake was actually quite pretty and cute 🖤
Would love to try your cake mixes if you ever have a dairy free one!
congrats to Mr. and Mrs. Cakes
we are so happy together 🤞
This is what the people wanted, thank
This came out looking so great! The Lego bride and groom really complete it! Ez bake should so do a colab with Jonny Cakes and make a recipe using your cake mix!!
Also random note there are real contests where people make full meals only using ez bake ovens! I think ez bake use to have an official one some years back and the winners would be put in a cookbook you could buy and try to make yourself. Don’t know if they still do that or not.
Would be curious to see how you'd make a hummingbird cake :D Maybe as a bird feeder?
What about a hanging bird house?
I just saw a TikTok recently of a woman who’s family was fckng poisoned by the fumes that came from an Easy Bake Oven! Their lungs got fried and their oxygen levels dropped super low. The doctor’s told her if they would have gone to sleep that night and not come into the ER they would have died. Anyway! Glad that didn’t happen to you! 🤣 But if you use it again, open a window.
Ummm what????!
The little roses are adorable.
Ah, Easy Bake Ovens. I had one as a kid. Looked exactly like the one in the ad you played. Same colour too. Good times..
Your cake turned out really good for an Easy Bake cake. Thanks for the memories..
Jonny you are so funny. I had to go back and check if I’ve watched all of your videos.
The smaller cakes are probably more difficult to handle because they're lighter in weight - larger cakes are heavier, and thus stay in place better.
