- HELLO FRIENDS!! I’ve always dreamed of having an opportunity to enter my Willy Wonka era, and now it’s finally here. I was ~somehow~ entrusted to take over the Escazu Chocolate factory in Raleigh, NC for a day, and you can definitely say I made the most of it. We followed the entire chocolate-making process - from bean to bar - and made two different custom chocolate creations together - a beautiful ombre bar & a marbled galaxy chocolate confection! What do you guys think of our final products? Do I have a future as a chocolate maker?
If you would like to enter the chocolate bar giveaway to win one of these cute lil guys, the Google Form is right here: forms.gle/FFrzputGQZ1LRyeL8
(Please note that we are unable to send chocolate internationally or to P.O. boxes for this giveaway. Also, due to the ~temperamental~ nature of the chocolate, we will be sending the chocolate out in the early Fall to avoid any melting catastrophes!)
And a big thank you goes out to the amazing team at Escazu for helping us out with this video; make sure to check out our creations on their website here - available for purchase!: www.escazuchocolates.com/shop...
You can also find the chocolate in person at their store in Raleigh here: 936 N Blount St, Raleigh, NC 27604
(this video is NOT sponsored and we are not receiving any portion of Escazu’s sales - they are just a cool small business we love!)

HELLO FRIENDS!! and welcome to my chocolate factory! thanks to the chocolate (gurus? coaches? captains?) at escazu for letting me take over for the day!! i had a blast taking on the art of chocolatiering - and i feel like by the end, i was even getting the hang of it? what did you guys think of our custom chocolate creations? and what should we tackle next?? xoxo, saf
Hey Safiya!! ❤️
Hiii I love chocolate so much so am glad you made this video ❤
OMG I SAW YOU AT VIDCON WHEN YOU SAID YOU WOULD POST THIS VIDEO LOVE YOU GUYS💕💕💕💕❤️❤️
Perfect video Safiya ❤ this derg loves chocolate, something we can agree is the best.
Ruby chocolate is everything!
She’s the Willy Wonka to my Grandpa Joe 👴🏻
cuuute
Omg yesss 😂
That's a ship I'd get on board. :3
Not gonna lie. Thought this was a random person and got the ick.
😍💜🖤
“ what’s this stuff? “ “ don’t chug it “ I love how that’s the first thing that she imagined Safiya doing
Ya, either she thought Safiya would do that or someone else has done it before already lol
I mean... Some people would
She must have seen Safiya‘s other videos 😂 Safiya does like to eat inedible things
i mean... that would be very safiya
@@AskMia411 so true
My favorite part about this series is that she always goes to local peoples place’s instead of teaming up with a super rich youtuber. I love Saf
calling kung fu tea small and local is just incorrect lol
@@katal003👁️👅👁️
@@katal003 she mentioned in that video that it was a franchise - but she was helped by, and reached out to by, the franchisee rather than any kind of corporate HQ marketing manager. Not that she's infalliable, simply that she seems to attempt decency
I have no interest in spending $40k on a bag (a piece of leather + labor = $1000 max) imagine paying $39k on this brand. Totally unnecessary. If you are also looking for niche yet fashionable products, *condupcom* is definitely your best choice. There are many treasures hidden here that have not been discovered by the public
I love that Safiya helped a Latina owned small business. Everyone seemed wonderful and like they were enjoying themselves and enjoying sharing their craft. The chocolate turned out amazing!
it was awesome to see the shop in action. i know a video doesnt give a full picture, but the vibes were very comforting and i hope they continue to grow their reach
I'm so glad there is people acknowledging their business, I didn't know much about them until I saw this video, it's just exciting to see people appreciate small businesses, especially this business because im sure they are amazing and their chocolates seem awesome :)
Not sure why your comment couldn’t have just been “helped a small business”? What does being Latina have to do with anything. People treat Latinos like they need help or something and it’s sad
If I still lived in the triangle (basically the area of raleigh, chapel hill, and durham) I'd try to visit the physical shop sometime. I still go there occasionally so maybe someday I can
@@boodledemic6430 the owners and many of the workers are latinas. if safiya had learned to make fresh pasta at an italian restaurant, would you have thrown a fit if ppl commented about how cool it was to see an italian family and their business featured
Safiya is collecting careers like Barbie
Fr
She’s literally IRL Barbie 😂 except a Queen of the night, instead of Queen of the Blonds lol.
i would so buy a safiya barbie doll
@@Thewaterspirit57goth barbie lol
I cannot wait for the astronaut arc
The fact that the whole Escazu crew seemed to spend the whole day giggling from Safiya's humor is so sweet (pun intended!)
No one replied…. Weird. Anyways, I just wanted to say your pun is amazing lol
Haha puns
Yes very wholesome they seemed to have a lot of fun.
*”Sweet”*
I love how the factory feels less like, automated and more like it's someone cooking in their kitchen, it's so lovely to see the poeple behind the works.
Watching you take over random businesses for a day seems like something that should be on an actual TV network
She needs her own show she basically made one tho lol
Did you enjoy that really.... i think it was so cringe and hard to watch. They lost a fan... the level of disrespect i can not fathom
@francefister1194 girl what? Stop watching her then. Tf clearly you don't know how her personality is and she's not rude.
There is a show about it actually. It's called Dirty Jobs! :)
i am so proud to see safiya not only helping a small business but a WOMEN owned LATINA business!
The chocolates were out-of-stock when I checked. How exciting for the chocolate shop!
TRUE
@@thisisme2681she's some indirect influencer because her main goal isn't promote but ends up doing that anyway lol
Is saf part Latina?
@@JustineSHarrisoni believe she's half danish and half indian
Can we just take a moment to appreciate how sweet and patient these women were while teaching Safiya? She did a great job, those chocolates both look and sound delicious
They got paid 😂 also I thought the sales would go towards charity or something, but no mention of it. So they're all just taking cuts? Usually these videos are in aid of something other than plain capitalism 😢
@@b33p wow, that's a pretty cynical take. On the one hand, I see where you're coming from but on the other hand it's a small, latina-owned business that's doing well. What's the problem?
@@b33pthey didn’t get paid, it says it in the description
@@b33pall the profits are going to the small business, says in the caption that safiya isn’t getting profits (and also do you think a small business could afford a sponsor from an almost 10 million sub channel)
I like the fact that Karla is so patient and kind while teaching Safiya!
The way safiya matches everyones energy and charms them all in every video with so many different kinds of people / personalities is just wow. Safiya is such a unique rare and amazing soul I love how she just warms up to people and makes them laugh
Love how humble and funny Safiya
👍
website is good

i love how she’s supporting small businesses like it really shows how much she cares about people and their art
period and a women owned business purr 💅🏽
This was such a cool video, not just for the custom chocolate part, but also to see how a local, smaller business actually makes the chocolate, starting with the beans. Especially thankful for Saf choosing a latina owned business instead of industry giants because not only were they able to show more of the process but the overall atmosphere and just behind the scenes was super fun.
This made me appreciate the chocolates so much more. I feel much better about spending more money on chocolates too, just seeing how labor intensive the process is.
Same.
Safiya is becoming our modern “How Its Made” gal
No one like her !😊
Not only is saf showing off really cool careers and providing us with fun content, she’s promoting small businesses like a queen
OMG yes. Supporting small businesses AND showing off unique careers that may not always get media attention? LOVE IT.
Beep bop... I'm the Philosophy Bot. Here, have a quote:
"We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light"

She’s a queen 👸
These women work really hard and they make art, really loved their work and energy ❤
They could totally use the air blast technique for white chocolate eyeballs at halloween, to do the red eye veins
I love how Safiya chose a local, small business.. truly proving she is the best bean 🥹💛
Love that too, what a delight to meet the women running this factory too ❤
in every videos like this you can see how charismatic and likable Safiya is. Owners always start a bit awkward but start to open up and be more comfortable as the video goes on!
She could easily indoctrinate me into a cult
@@jarbincks6715lmao true
Saf has this laid back yet goofy vibe to her that seems to get everyone to relax whenever she's around.
This series is catered to me, specifically - someone who loved the factory videos on "Mr. Roger's Neighborhood" as a kid and "How it's Made" as an adult and has been a regular at a goth club for 16 years. Love watching Saf have a blast learning how things are made and trying new skills. She does it with such respect for the staff at each location as well.
First Boba, then candy, and now chocolate, Safiya is living the dream!
I appreciate her supporting small local businesses rather than just going to some large factory. So many local places struggle to stay open so the exposure is amazing.
She can make soap, she can make boba, she can make hard candy from scratch, and now she knows how to make chocolate. Safiya can literally do anything and I love her for that
she can make lipstick too
And candles!! 🥰
I never comment on RUclips videos. But this one struck close to home. I've been watching you since 2017 or so. I am so happy that you choose a venezuelan owned busissness for this. From Danielle's vibes and joy to showing her work to the world. I am so proud that you had a chance to work with them in one of our cultural stapples like chocolate and the quality of venezuelan ingredients for it. This made me really happy :)
I work at a local Belgium chocolate shop and it’s so fascinating watching everything come together! It’s a lot of hard work but in the end you made something tastefully beautiful!
I love that Safiya is helping to support these small businesses that are local to her!
Safiya singled handedly combating the “young people just don’t want to work anymore” trope
Amazing video! Thanks so much. My mom (chocolate guru) wants me to post one minor correction...in the tempering machine, it's creating the right cocoa butter crystals, not sugar crystals. Love your videos so much!
Safiya and Karla sorting the small beans away reminded me of the Bournville ads where a small discarded cocoa bean would bawl after not being selected 😭
Safiya is the ultimate influencer. She reviews Vegas hotels, I go to Vegas. She goes to Blue Lagoon, I’ll go too. She makes chocolate, I’ll eat it. Whatever she’s selling, I’m buying.
Not only that, but somehow I convince my mom to do it too 😂 She needs a stake in the Vegas strip at this point.
literally, when she mentioned espresso beans I started snacking on a box of chocolate covered espresso beans that go bad tomorrow otherwise (they're 6/10)
Gurl I somehow ended up buying chocolate blocks and made a simple chocolate snack this morning 😋
I really loved her promoting underrated chocolate factories like these
That lavender chocolate bar sounds so good
Safiya in like 10 years: I HAVE DONE ALL THE FUN JOBS IN THE WORLD!!!!!!🎉😂
I love how Saf is showing off unique careers while also promoting so many small businesses. What a good idea for a series!
I had no idea there were smaller places that actually took chocolate through the whole process like this! This is a whole other level of ARTISANAL! ❤
This reminded me of taking the Theo chocolate factory tour in Seattle, but with the added fun of Safiya and Tyler. It's a pity I'm too late to buy any of what they made because it sounds delicious. Chocolate and lavender is a favorite flavor combination of mine.
i feel like safiya is everyone's mom's work friend. the type you dread her meeting at the grocery store because you'll be there forever (positive)
The black tea with lavender sounds unique and the bar is so pretty. Wish I saw this when it was being sold, I want to try that.
A bar with tea and flower type flavoring is interesting. I've never seen bars like that, they're so pretty.
i love how every time safiya uploads a new video, you'll never guess what it's gonna be.she could be making a chocolate now but next?she could be travelling to other country, build a house, run a mall.she's unpredictable
She's actually going to be pimping someone's ride😂😂
Safia x HoloTaco collab in sept
we love women running local businesses and supporting each other!!!!!! this was SUCH a great video! as a chocolate-lover myself, i deeply enjoyed this video and was just smiling throughout ^_^
the ombre on the chocolate is to die for. it looks amazing.
I love how safiya is nervous but still has her comical side about her. Love how you always have a smile on your face in every video
I think the most impressive part of these kinds of videos is just how naturally Safiya and Tyler make friends with the people they are working with! They are both so respectful , warm, and willing to learn!
The businesses - especially this chocolate one - clearly really like them and looks like they had a fun day filming.
I love that Safiya uses her platform to support small, women-owned businesses 🥰
Love how she gets along so well with all of the experts ❤
Why does captain seem like literally the nicest person ever?! Such a fun video
Saf’s ability to make the most random video subjects interesting is unmatched. Never know what to expect but in the best way
My fave thing about this series is Saf’s willingness to just be bad at things on camera. Normally she’s great at everything, but there’s a chance she might fail and isn’t afraid to take a shot at it. It’s so refreshing
The Escazu crew was adorable!! Gorgeous chocolate results too 👏
The amount of joy I felt when that woman said she was from Venezuela😭 omg I’m so happy rn. My country doesn’t get mentioned often so I’m happy I got to hear it here🇻🇪🩷
6:12 Karla sorts up to 300 lbs of beans over a few days??? Okay, she definitely earned her title of bean queen.
I love how these videos never feel awkward and everyone is just having a good time 🖤
Watching Safiya brings me back to food network unwrapped and I’m 100% here for it.
I love how Safiya is promoting small businesses. Queen behavior tbh.
I love how Safiya is trying new things but aiming for small business where her presence may benefit them.
ok
i’ve been watching your youtube for years and it’s been my comfort channel, thank you so much for still making theses videos they are so great and so are you and tyler!
I'm sure doing videos like this with people lets them look at their job with more fun. Love the chocolates!
I love how Safiya’s content goes from travel to food to franken-stuff, but is always 100% chaotic.
Okay but it’s actually so cool to see how chocolate is made and how safiya is supporting this small business 🥺🥺
Why are you sad? 🌻
I love how you all worked together and they were so excited to share their craft with you. It was all adorbs
I think you just invented a new killer combo: Lavender Vanilla (-> "Lanilla" ??)
ps, I luv your videos 🦇❤🍫
My favorite part of these videos is how quickly Safiya and Tyler develop chemistry with their collaborators of the day!
She literally has 0% social anxiety lol
This is turning into a “becoming Barbie” series where you just do every job and I’m loving it.
Sophia being an absolute *giant* compared to everyone else in the chocolate shop is taking me tf out!!! 🤣
helping small businesses being enjoying yourself is such a good thing of her:)
Honestly watching Saf and Ty consistently build such fun rapport with everyone they collaborate with is so special! It's one thing to have curiosity and respect for what other people do, but another thing entirely to create such a friendly environment. Loved this video so much! xo
Has anyone asked Safiya Nygaard a question on that creator connection website ThoughtSpace AI where you get instant answers to questions and can watch where he discusses it? Ok, was just wondering.
i grew up on how it's made and now i watch safiya. i swear to god its a pipeline
Saf is infectious and you literally can’t not love her by the end
im glad were seeing these as a mix of "how it's made" and just someone actually working there. These type of videos could have a very arrogant feel to them and im glad it just feels so comfortable
The fact that in all of these videos, Saf and Tyler not only work with small businesses, but they have fun with the workers while doing it? Like I’m sure they have fun teaching their craft to others and it helps them get a little excitement back for their art if they’ve lost it.
Seeing the chemistry between Saf, Ty and Empoyees is always a serotonin rush
Idk why it makes me so happy when Safiya is just making everyone in the room laugh, it’s just so fun to see her in these different contexts learning the most random stuff
Chocolate making and Safiya is something I didn’t know I needed together in a video, but I’m so glad I got it! Loved the video and I could deffo feel the joy yourselves and the lovely employees had during your time there 😃 I also love how you’re putting small businesses on such a big platform, which could really benefit them ❤️
I love how you always work with small businesses and not like huge companies and stuff :) (love your vids btw ♥‼️)
Seeing Safiya treat small business workers with respect and friendship is the wholesome content I needed from RUclips today ❤
You can tell that the captain and queen loved Saf and Tyler and they are wonderful and hardworking people, they put so much time and effort into their job. I hope they know that they seem to be completely in love with their company and the work they do.
I find it really great how Safiya just makes everyone so comfortable, just another 10/10 vid Saf!
I love this video... the staff members are so enjoying their fun visitors and it's just so lovely to watch!
Love that Saf and Tyler are promoting small and local businesses!
Is it just me, or did Safiya become best friends with every single staff member at Escazu?? The vibes were simply off the charts in that factory!!
It’s like that everywhere she goes, it’s especially evident in her celebrity contouring facial video. She is the Universal Friend
“I know, I’m gonna miss you” SO CUTE
@@AFTALonzo Carla was so sweet🥹
Totally agree!!
The chocolates look very satisfying
Great flavor combos. Loved watching the entire process start to finish, rather than solely the decorative parts.
Ok can we talk about how adorable Carla was? Everyone there seemed so genuine
Her ability to explain tastes and flavors is just top notch
I love this! My dad was a chocolateer, he loved making beautiful candy and chocolate for us and these are just gorgeous! I hope we see more of these epic behind-the-scenes
OMG! no wonder why these chocolates are expensive! Looong process and by hand!!! Holy moly 😅 but it is totally worth it 👌 👏👏👏👏❤️
I love how much Safiya makes the staff laugh while being so respectful of the craft
I can tell Saf is a really fun person to be around. The way the professionals relax around her is very sweet.
I loved this, so iconic and the staff’s personalities were great tok
Such a great video! The owners were super cute and they seem to enjoy themselves as well, loved them
Every time I watch a Safiya video I have the overwhelming urge to binge watch ALL of her videos
Don't press that that's a scam
@@rosesrosebear thank you for making everyone aware of that! Some definitely don’t always know
Me tooo!!!!
As a fellow venezuelan I love seeing saf support venezuelan owned businesses, this video made me so happy. They all love doing what they do and are so proud of it its so great to see.
Love the production that goes into each of her videos! Thanks for the fun video Saf!
Seeing all of the steps involved in making my favorite food makes me appreciate it even more!
The jokes, the knowledge. the skill, the ladies, the small business, the cuteness that is Tyler & Safiya. This video is so wholesome. 🥹❤
I love how Safiya collaborates with local businesses. You can really see how much these business owners love what they do ❤
Core memories created one video at a time
I love watching how comfortable the folks at the chocolate factory became after interacting with her throughout the video- they went from shyer and unsure to familiar ^^
