@thejonnycakesI definitely go back and forth between 1 and 2. Love the look of 2 (that pig nose is EVERYTHING!), but the flavors of 1 intrigue.
I think I would go 2, I’m poor, and with that cake, he can be the Santa from that Twilight Zone episode ‘Eye of the Beholder’! Serve scoops of cookies n cream ice cream with it and no one will notice the cake flavor isn’t perfect!

I usually think bakers are full of themselves when they give cake prices, but the Tipsy Santa cake is absolutely worth that price. The fact it even has a specific name just tells you that baker is an artist. The attention to detail and ability is spot on for 500

1000%---I'm a polymer clay artist & omfg the DETAIL. I agree with every comment Jonny & you left here. The absolutely TINY details, the craftsmanship, even the color matching---def worth the $500 that they're asking. I can't even imagine how long it'd take me to try to do a sculpture like that with how stiff my medium gets (despite it literally taking texture very similarly to modeling chocolate or stuff I know Jonny's talked about with hyperrealistic cakes). It's literally my baking skills + art skills that make polymer clay a fun medium to transition to tbh 😂

After I took all day to bake my dad a realistic dartboard cake for his 50th birthday, I completely understood cake prices 🥴 something I'll probably never do again lol
I feel like the three cakes together told a story of Santa getting progressively drunker throughout the night. First cake, he’s tipsy, his cheeks are rosy and he’s pretty jolly. Second cake, he’s drunk enough to go sit in a snow drift and stare at the stars (and who hasn’t been there?) Third cake, he’s so schnockered he tumbles headfirst into a chimney. Drunk Santa: a Play in Three Acts.

I think you were a tad harsh with the first one, especially because I think you DID get as much cake as the second because the whole thing was edible and the fondant was a lot thinner. The choice id flavour sounded really unique too

the first cake looks like the type of cake you can get at a big Asian grocery store chain here in Canada called t&t - they tend to be very light and fluffy and not super strong in flavor if it's chocolate but still very yummy.

I loooove t&t! I visited up there in Oct and my cousin told me that wasn't even the best Asian grocery store. That one put the ones in the Chicago area to shame so I can't imagine how amazing the whatever one she was mentioning would be.

The first cake at $240 is scandalous. Its’ cute, but it shouldn’t be more than $125. It’s so basic. I would rate it a basic 5/10.

If they had gone whole hog with the pig theme, like with hooves instead of mittens, I may have liked it better. But they didn't, so I prefer the first cake to it. But the clear winner was the third. LOVE the theme, sounds delicious, and very well done.
