S24 series are the same phones just with slightly newer processor. I would say its better than nothing as new customers can buy the S24 instead of buying S23 as if S23 was still for sale they probably wouldn't discount it.
The AI search feature is already on my S23 Ultra as i can get the google version of it by holding the home button and pick exactly what area of the screen i want to search
Titanuim Blue variant coming my way. 🔥
Yep, Samsung is going to support the S24 for 7 years! Yay! But, come next year, Samsung will want you to upgrade to the S25 lol.
That's why they are going to charge for the important AI features after 2 years... Turns the phone into a subscription based revenue stream...
7 years of slowdown probably lol
I wouldn't worry about it.
No one keeps their phone for 7 years so always laugh when they advertise 7 years of updates like its a big deal lol
Of course they want you to upgrade. They're a business. They want to make money.
I traded an s22+, got 1k trade in value, double the storage to 512gb, and free 2 day shipping on my S24 ultra order, I didn't get any accessorie money, but 300 dollars for the flagship was the reason I traded
Im STILL very happy with my awesome note 10 + for now even though I am not getting updates anymore but have had no issues with the phone. Love the S pen, camera and expanable storage, charges so quickly and has never let me down so after all this time even though it sounds a little wierd i don't see a need to update yet.
Same how I feel about my Note 20 ultra only thing I need to replace is the back camera module and it should last me a few more years maybe replace the battery and I think I'll still be kicking
The way I use my phone it is too important not to have security patches.
Otherwise I'd still be using my perfectly good Note 9...
I lost so many features with my S22 Ultra vs my Note 9...
@@jacobdrj101 which features did you lose besides the obvious?
Having Note 10+ for more than 5 years now and I finally will change to s24 Ultra.
Since s24 Ultra supports 7 years of updates, I will try and stick with this one for longer than 5 years. :) Note 10 + is so amazing phone, best I ever had. Used it in different countries I lived with totally different climates. Used it attached on my motorcycle. It fell from my hands many times (even motorcycle). The only thing that became weaker is battery so I changed it. And S pen bluetooth lost connection.
The main thing that will get improved with s24 Ultra is screen refresh rate definitely. :)
I've had the note 10 plus since 2020 and I'm mainly upgrading to give myself something new & with the trade in value at samsung for the 10 + still being good. I went with the s24 plus as I didn't use the pen of my note, I feel no need for the ultra on my end.
My S24U in Titanium Yellow (gold looking) with 512GB is on its way from Texas. I'm trading in my S23U, and getting a good deal from AT&T.
The back looks yellow, not gold. The sides look gold. Saw it in person, like a toy
My phone is a tool first but an accessory as a close second so I'd upgrade for the aesthetic improvements alone. The frame and the colors were enough to make me take the trade in offers and then all of the performance improvements (processor, battery life, wifi7 etc) sweetened the deal. People who buy their phones while thinking practical don't ask these questions, they wait until their phone dies and then they go and grab whatever is available.
As a OnePlus 7 Pro user whose mobile data signal is starting to fail and refusing to move until it is dead in the water. I agree 👍
What colour did u order?
Same.... and Samsung is so aggressive with their trade in offers I can't help but take the bait
I right now have a 4-year-old Note 20 ultra back camera lens getting that replaced And also debate on getting a secondary phone just in case this one has issues so the s23 ultra might be my best bet if I can find out a good deal
The 7 year support is really nice. Why? Because I am one of those people who it is targeted.
Still using my S8 since the release year. This year will finally get a new phone.
Me too, I am looking at getting the 24+.
Definitely not worth it unless your phone is 3 years old. Even then its questionable.
Well my note 20 ultra's 3 years old 😂 , But the problem is I take a lot of pictures And I would like to get the 512 version of 23 ultra But even those used the price is a bit high
I cant imagine using a device for 3 years lol. I mean i still have my note 20 ultra but i tend to hang on to my devcies even though i rarely use the old ones. The note 20 ultra is still a pretty solid device though even now and the sd card slot is sorely missed!
@@redstang70 I know. The longest I used the same phone was 2 years and it was because of a phone contract.
@@redstang70 When I trade in my Note 9 for my note 20 ultra there were some features I do miss but I learned to work around them but so far the note 20 ultra is still holding strong but not considering possibly getting a secondary phone like a s23 ultra but still keeping the note 20 ultra as a backup
I've been upgrading every single year since the note series. is it worth it? of course not. Trade in deals make it easy but if you are buying a $1k+ phone from scratch you probably want it, but don't need it.
Flat screen...sign me up. That's about the only real bonus compared to my s23 ultra, pre ordered a blue 1tb. Too bad they didnt have the dark frame on the orange color that would have looked great
My thoughts exactly!
Honestly, samsung phones are always gonna be solid but with the way OnePlus is moving nowadays, I would consider giving them another chance. I understand the software might still need work but man, the OnePlus Open and OnePlus 12 are really good along with their pricing. Plus, they give you the super fast charger IN THE BOX!
I've been watching your videos for a while quite a while I enjoy them but I ordered the s24 ultra I traded in my s22 I still have my s23 believe it or not and I think it's a different phone but I got a great deal I'm only paying $600 for the phone with the trade-ins and free cases that I'm getting so I can't complain but listen keep up the good work hopefully you feeling fine covid is dangerous for get your shot I got mine I got the flu and everything else so take care of yourself Happy New Year Have a good one😊
I did a combination of Education store, $1 trade in on my broken S20, and some pre-order voucher stuff.
Ended up getting the S24 at about 40% off without any other items.
I've seen others do even better.
How did you achieve that? You get the phone thru a carrier promo?
No Carriers. When you use the GALAXYAI promo you can add some accessories and then delete them without losing the promo discount.
Education store alone is 20% off.
The trade in gave me fixed amount of discount I believe apart from $1 trade in value.
All in all I paid 812.29AUD and my specified savings was 586.71AUD.
I don't understand the hype for the AI stuff personally. I don't believe it'll suddenly revive the smartphone industry like companies have been hoping. The extended support is a nice gesture for people who like to keep their device for a long time.
Well my last samsung phone was Note 9, I think the upgrade is worth it.
I guarantee before anyone watch this video this guy will bash everything about Samsung phones, but praises Apple on their shortcoming.
How'd that work out for you?
Phones are everything these days. I'm 30. I remember how badly I wanted to take pictures and videos of everything my friends and I would do. I tried vlogging before vlogging was a thing. I wanted to create skits before online skits were a thing. I remember going to the library to study. Rent out books. Now I just pull out my phone and google whatever it is I need answered or whatever I need to research. I pull out my phone to record my kids and preserve those memories. They're not pixellated anymore like they were with the flip phones. I've been holding on to my Galaxy Note 20U and my iPhone 12PM since 2020 but yes I did pre-order the Galaxy S24U and yes I most definitely will get the iPhone 16PM or 16Ultra. Whatever they end up naming it 😂
I am trading in my S 23 ultra for the 24 ultra. I’ve been using the iPhone 15 Pro Max since it came out and I’m really missing android.
Same
Me too, I have both 15 pro max and S24 ultra. It is such a relief to use both platforms at the same time instead of being stuck to only 1.
I can't lose my S23 Ultra... The 100x zoom is better (I actually use it), other cameras are near identical, and the curved screen is nice imo. For £660 to upgrade, that's a rip off
It's definitely not worth it what they're charging with the trade in. I said you want to pick it up wait a month or so. So you get a better deal at the trade in.
I have the s21 5g FE, thought about upgrading to s24 but i think I'll wait. Phone still runs great, no issues. Im surprised they lowered the front camera's MP
Surely, aperture matters. Larger pixels and a larger aperture make a huge difference in light collection ability.
This will result in lower isos, so less noise/grain when shooting in dark scenes.
Also, cheap second hand phones that get refurbished sell like hot cakes in developing countries
Great content. I now I won't pay for AI when it comes to my s23 ultra. But let me ask you this. How many Apple subscriptions are required on your iPhone 15pro max? Or do you have.🤔 and for what ?
None are required but Apple cloud is heavily pushed. Apple music. But it's optional just like Google One or RUclips music.
Have you considered adding a bit more structure to the videos? For example, the first two minutes were just rambling about “click the link in the description below”. I’m not saying this is the solution to increase subscribers, but I guess it doesn’t hurt to try.
Thanks for the great video, although I prefer IPhone the s24 ultra looks like the king of android phones and would be my first choice in an android. Thanks for pointing out the shell game, I got 750 bucks to trade in my 2 year old IPhone 13 Pro Max towards my 15 pro max. I was like wow how do they make money but as you pointed out, they don’t care about that it’s a shell game, they will by moving units and carriers win by in some cases lock in.
Bro how did you get 750 off for your iPhone 15pro max?
@@asianstud7A lot carriers are offering huge trade in deals. I can trade in my iPhone 11 Pro to get $1000 off an S24 Ultra/S24+/S24. If I trade it in for an iPhone 15 Pro however I only get $350 off. Standard trade in value without the deals is probably around $125
They refurb and wholesale the old phones for big money. You can see the old phones sold through a number of outlets for not an insignificant cost. Everyone wins and they gain Samsung ecosystem customers the entire way through.
its honestly just a revised S23 Ultra. Brighter screen,an extra camera feature(5x telephoto), new built in AI features, and a completely flat screen. everything else is exactly the same.
unless you absolutely need it,and have the money with no financial burden, its absolutely not worth going from a S23U to S24U. if you have an S20U-S22U,it may be worth it for the battery life alone though.
I bought the S24 Ultra in the Orange color 1 TB unlocked, plus lots of discount rebate and $150 credit You can get anything you want from the list, they doing it every year, compared to Apple, Don't give you even a D** to sit down greedy mother fathers & always few steps behind the Samsung, Android and Samsung all the way for me since I got my first phone over a decades ago, They make great solid phones hands down👍🤙🤘
That felt like you were making this video under duress! Just saying...
I am currently using an S22 Ultra, and I haven't heard a compelling argument from anyone that says I need to upgrade!
By the way, the DCI P3 color on the s24 screens has been reduced vs the s23 Ultra. I noticed it didn't "pop" nearly as much as the s23 Ultra. I saw a review out of China that showed the reduction in PCI D3. It has dropped to between 82 to 84 percent. RGB color gamut is still 100, but gosh, the screen feels less exciting to me on the s24 Ultra.
I’d rather they do 5 years support but do it properly. Fast, reliable and secure updates.
9:08 Got a second phone (pixel 7) for $300 has all these features and more, FREE of charge
That's cool bro, you have an old phone. Everybody clap.
I still have the Black Berry. It is still just as good any phone out now and in the future. The keyboard alone makes typing way faster, and I can get more work done. The battery is still better than any phone, and the apps are great, without all the unnecessary garbage apps.
We don't know what they're going to be charging for, it's likely it will only be the ones that require off-site computations. It's not really a bizarre decision. No more bizarre than apple charging for iCloud.
I got S24 Ultra, upgraded from Note 20 5G
My s23 ultra still going strong so I'm not seeing enough for me to go purchase this
The camera is not a high priority when purchasing a phone.
I'm not so sure about not paying in the future. This reminds me a lot of the free Google photos backup but how many of us are paying for the feature now.
Worth the upgrade from an s21 ultra?
When the 7 years are up, the S31 Ultra will be worth the upgrade. What more could they do to improve a phone? There's not much left but better cameras, faster processors and better batteries. I'd still rock my Note 4 if it had a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in it.
Not need, but getting the new 24 for 400 bucks unlocked with new ear buds....why not?
I need a variant with expandable storage, an otg and a fooking charger in the box . I really hate samsung for denying me this ... What is the point of taking high definition imagery if you run out of storage? I need options for that kind of money !
Don't buy latest Apple of Samsung, very minor things happening, screw that
Technically the AI features are free for 23 months (end of 2025). Not bad, and I bet there will be a lot more intelligent on-device AI before then.
Barely any changes from the S23 Series. The AI features will be locked behind a subscription in 2 years so there's even less of a reason to consider this over other options like the Oneplus 12. 7 year software updates is a nice to have but not really a selling point. I've been using my Note 9 for 6 years and haven't had any issues other than some apps feeling slower than normal.
Samsung is really testing the waters to see if people will buy basically the same phone 2 years in a row and it's truly tempting with the trade-in deals.
Barely any changes. Weird take.
@@POVwithRC Other than the AI features, which they will put behind a subscription after 2 years, what makes this substantially different than the S23 Ultra?
New chip is a given. A little design refinement is expected. One camera change is pretty incremental.
I couldn't pass up my Carriers Offer.
$800 for my 256g S22 Ultra in a Pre-loaded Visa Card or I can use that amount towards the pay off of my 512g Black S24 Ultra, that's what I chose to do
& a few other perks..
Black holds up well, at least with the S22 Ultra. Not a mark on it.
I don't have a single Micro Scratch on mine but I'm OCD & I've always kept a EVG TPU Screen Protectors & a great case on mine.
I'll be giving away a bunch of S22 Ultra Cases on my, The False Teeth Guy Channel soon..
(USA Residents Only)
I love that 24 Ultra Flat Display! Luv from TX 🤟
If i already didn't have the S23 and was looking to upgrade I'd get the S24 Plus this year
No SD card slot
No good deal for me
I'm stuck on middle range phones or s20 ultra or s20 plus, note 20 series is a downgrade from s20 ultra
The hell you need an SD card slot. These phones start at 256 Gigs and bump up to 512 for Free if you pre order. How much offline porn are you storing?
@@kev4378he could be a photographer😂
@@kev4378I have 3 1tb micro SD cards, 4 512gb micro SD cards, my problem is that I don't use streaming, or cloud storage
S23 ultra with the new AI and no need to upgrade.

All it is Google Bard
The ONLY RUclipsr EVER who has told us from the beginning, if you use my link that's a bit of money for me! I have a huge problem with these jokers who put out videos, just so you use their link! They have nothing NEW to say, just put out worthless vids to pad their bank accts!
It's more about bragging rights and showing off the latest flagship to your mates, than having a need.
The answer is no, since you can get it a year later for 30% less or even a few months later.
Painfully Honest Tech,
Thankfully I won't have to upgrade this time, the new A.I. features are coming to my Samsung 23 Ultra. HOWEVER... It chaps my behind when Samsung decides, yet again, to only offer their free upgrade in storage from the 256gb to 512gb, BUT STILL NO free upgrade from 512gb to 1TB, especially this year given all Galaxy 24's have the same 12gb of memory. It's BS and not consumer forward in the least and leaves a bad taste in my mouth. So, will I look to keep my phone for as long as I can? Yep. Samsung's coffers will have to come up a little lighter this year and some years to come.
vgv
@@FeltComputeMightDeleteLater Yeah, US got stiffed on that one. Hopefully someday Samsung will make it universal

I think Samsung just has long-term market capture as a strategy.
I hear they just overtook Apple as the world's top smartphone seller this year.
"Top" as in most number of phones sold.
Samsung had a poor 2023 with smartphone sales down 10%. Apple in fact surprised everyone with a 10% rise in the proportion of world sales. Add to that Samsung Group sales were down nearly 90% year-on-year, and it was disastrous. So not really sure about your conclusions?
@@andyH_England
How does any of that change what I said?
They were not the leader in smartphone sales numbers in the past. But now they are.
I really miss the S10 plus design curves all around. It was a sexy phone.
I have been using my Galaxy Note 9 since 2018. I will get this S23 Ultra and use it until security updates end for the phone.
These gadget corporations will find a hard time getting money from my pockets.
Not everyone is a big fan of AI. Samsung said they are going to add on AI feature on S24 some of those maybe exclusive and some of them you may even pay to use on monthly basis or to unlock over the life of the phone. If you read the fine print AI feature will end in 2025 from then samsung will make you pay in order to use these AI feature. So think twice before buying S24 unless you don't mind paying all these stuff monthly.😊😅😮😢
s24 titanium black ⚫️ ftw 🤟
The S24 ultra is worth it for 1 reason, the flat screen. No more crappy $30 screen protectors and no more S pen sliding off the edge.
I’m trading in my fold 4 I was waiting patiently to get rid of it to get a regular phone again.

I DONT KNOW WHAT THE OBSETION WITH PHONE COLORS , WE ALL PUT BLACK CASES ON THEM ANYWAY ..DO YOU NEED TO UPGRADE , WELL IF YOU HAVE THE S23U NO, S22U MABE ... ANYTHING BECORE THE S22 YES WHY NOT
I agree. I don’t use a case with my phones. Just need to be careful with them as you should since it costs $1300.00. An average car now I believe is about 48,000 (Kelly Blue book), and do we put a cover on it when we drive them, and they are exposed to more environmental hazards then phones.
@@mden2490 I could never use a phone without a case , too slippery, and I don't wanna take that chance

Does a protective case from an S22 ultra fit the s24 ultra?
No, new dimensions all around sorry

I think I'm going to stay with the A series.
😂😂😂😂
Seems like they are nice devices, but Samsung phones just depreciate in value so fast.
They’re just copying apple at this point with AI features that will be subscriptions.
google charges if you want the extra AI features.
Google and Samsung can make 7 year support promises, safe in the knowledge that no one will be using their current flagships in 7 years time. So the whole thing is pointless really.
The so called AI feature already in our phones , like instant translation of a language , google translate has had it for years.
Major upgrade from S22 ultra. My S22 ultra battery was terrible
The s22 ultras battery was infact horrible. Big difference from my s21 ultra and 23 ultra
Square not like the cryPhone, but Square like the old Notes, in which it replaced. Upgrading my S22 Ultra to S24 Ultra.
Square is not a proper noun.
Im going for the google pixel pro its $700 cheaper and does basically most of the same stuff .
The pixel 8 pro on Amazon and even with the carriers is about $999.00. So the 24ultra is about 200-300 more. I like the pixel 8pro but is it really a $1000.00 phone, no. It should be priced round $899.00 now I would argue that you are getting more with the 24ultra. I did pre order it, but I still might cancel the order, as I do like the Pixel 8pro as well. It seems to be more simple of a phone, yet still does quite a bit. I would rather have a phone that is really good at doing a few things, the one that is just mediocre and does many things.
i have the phone and i like it but the hole AI ... is a joke. these stuff exsist years ago with third party apps. just a buzzword to hype sales
Just like the iPhone 11,12,13,14, they are the same

i could give a shit about the ("advanced") AI features: so long as the rest of the unit operates as intended, after expiration
so, it's more \ less foreseeable that the basic design language of these flagships aren't changing;
i'm not sure if that's bad, indifferent, or good
but, imagine something
imagine that, in 2027, old sammy decides to "do us a favour" to break the doldrum, by reïntroducing the headphone jack, notification light, and IR blaster
stuffing a _robust_ vibration motor in the unit, whose strongest output you can feel through 3 - 5 thick layers of clothing
why not?
if nothing else, battery tech should definitely be improving more and more;
graphene is supposed to be a major player in this
with a better, smaller, stronger battery, more possibilities surely should be opened up
