I wouldn't have noticed the green tint on the galaxy without the side by side, but damn that was green.

idk, to me it looks green maybe because the a7iv was too yellow. i dont think it's got its camera white balance right either.
Samsung phones have some damn good specs but their color science really is garbage
The 200 megapixels mode messes up with the white balance. If it was on auto mode, would be better. Samsunun actually leans toward magenta tnes rather thha green;

great video, love to see this type of comparison. I think there was a fair amount of typos refering to the 24 ultra as the 23 in the picture comparisons- mostly from half way through the video and onwards

@@dadanardi5541 you absolutely can. As a hobbyist photographer, I definitely can mix my phone photos with my mirrorless camera. Obviously, there are limitations, and I can almost always tell very easily which is which, but others can not. Give a phone enough light, and they are quite handy
To be honest, the way he used the Sony and the lens choice... You will not get the most of these mirrorless cameras. Feels like he handicapped the Sony.
@@dadanardi5541 kind of agree, would be good to see a video side by side shooting both the Samsung on 'pro' mode and the Sony on manual mode. Both raw and jpeg. ☺️
The lens choice, well to make it a comparison, they need to be restricted. I reckon it would still be close, although I always found it fiddly adjusting all the settings on a phone compared to a DSLR.
yeah the s24 has built in post processing so take from that what you will
@@dadanardi5541 lol yeah feels like he's purposely not testing anything that separates a fast mirrorless from a smartphone
1. low light / high ISO performance?
2. sensor dynamic range?
3. auto focus of moving subjects like humans and pets when using 3x/5x?
4. rolling shutter testing?
this video simply reinforces the one thing that we already knew for years which is that smartphone is decent at shooting in well lit environment with a slow 35mm equivalent aperature, but everything else is ass lol
I loved that you showed some portraits (which I do with sony cameras). I didnt find much difference in urban landscapes, but a lot in the final video, and in the shoots of rapid subjects.
The comparison is very interesting, phones are clearly becoming excellent (in technical/software sense) cameras, but the big optical lenses with the ergonomics of a professional camera still deliver another kind of premium experience and results ( I don't know if those differences are only percieved by photographers or also by the general public).
I think for some time there still will be a clear difference between Professional cameras and phones.
Phones have improved quite a bit but it still feels like "Wow did you take this with a Camera?" And then you show them a photo done by a good camera with the right settings but without any crazy editing, "Ah this is definitely the camera!"
There is just a different level of detail in Cameras still, especially because the lenses can capture sooo much light.
I love how good my Phone has become but i would lie if i didnt sometimes wish i dished out a few hundred bucks or a few grand for a really nice camera.

Great video mate. Really glad they made the decision to swap the previous 10x optical with the 5x optical lens. It not only accentuates the portrait mode but also provides consistent quality across all the lenses.

Great camera comparison video! Im also a fan of the new 10x digital crop. I used my S24 Ultra Sunday at an orchid show. The results were phenomenal! I'm going back with my full frame Canon next week for my own comparison.
It's not a x5 digital crop, it's a x5 optical zoom.
@lucaspanasski331 According to the internet it's both. There's 5x optical zoom and it's achieving great 10x shots with digital crop. If you didn't hear it in his video a simple Google search will clear it up for you.

White balance is really the only difference I could see between the two, and that can be changed in pro mode or after-the-fact.
there are also more details and shadows in the pro camera
Contrast, better colors, less noise, sharpness...and the list goes on. Different worlds mate,night and day can't event compare. Phone is good just for playing , nothing else. Images looks good only for instagram, when resized. Try to view that 200mpx 1:1 ...you'll see what a joke the phone actually is 😅
Not if you get into details. Smartphone might look good on the surface, but not if you start to stratch the surface. There's a reason pro cameras exist.
@eryck123 I understand that, but 95% of people probably aren't going to look that deeply into it, and I would be lying if I said I could tell the difference if they weren't side by side.
True. Smartphones works great for well lit scenes. They struggle a when it comes to dynamic range though, so in scene with lots of shadow and more exposed areas it can be tricky to get a good looking photo.Most difference would be noticed in night time photos though. Smartphones try to compensate by using HDR and artificial light, but for most part the result is not that natural looking. I also think the lack of aperture control on smartphones makes the bokeh a bit unnatural looking, some are better than others at processing though. As long as they dont blur parts of the head in a portrait I guess its fine. @@grim436
