I have been an iphone user since the iphone 6 and switched to the Ultra 24. And I'm so happy with the phone. Fast and a gorgeous phone. Iphones are great but they have gotten boring and the battery life is pretty bad. I usually get a whole day of on screen time on my Ultra and highly recommend this phone.

That’s my dilemma exactly… I’m up for an upgrade and I don’t know what to do. I have a 14 pro max and I’m considering the S24U mainly because I’m bored of iPhones… always the same crap, the look and feel, same functionalities. Apple keeps adding a lot of stuff nobody uses while the Home Screen and app icons look the same since 2009. The only things holding me back are the whole Apple ecosystem cuz I have AirPods, an iPad, an iMac, yadda yadda.. I’m in the US and most of my circle all have iPhones so it’s easy to communicate etc… such a hard decision to make 😩😩

I upgraded the s24u from the s21u and holy cow this phone is awesome. Incredible pictures/videos. Screen resolution is amazing. I do really enjoy the screen reducing the reflection. I'm outside with the kids a lot and will be even more in the summer. I keep my brightness just under half way and today in the sun I kept it at the same brightness and could easily see my screen. Usually I have to crank it up.
My one gripe is that the colors don't seem very vivid or pop out at you. However I heard that samsung will be fixing this as the phone has a bug not allowing it to go into vivid mode, and stays in natural. No big deal really, but if I had to pick something that would be it.
Compared to my s21u, battery life is insane! Live this phone so much.

Dude! What a coincidence! My first android phone was the S3. I managed to get the S4 quite some time afterward. Then the S5,S7, and now I have the s20. I bought the s24 yesterday but haven't taken it out of the box yet. I'm still on the fence about returning it and getting an iPhone 15. I started with the iPhone and made the switch to android with the starting with the s3, and I've never looked back. Samsung has gotten lazy and allowed iPhone to catch up. The camera on the s24 is bad compared to the iPhone 15. I did like how blazing fast the s24ultra is, though. Im not a big fan of the squared edges either, but I love how big the screen is. The screen colors also don't pop like past android phones. I don't think the s24 is a deal breaker, but for such an expensive phone, they took a major steps back.

But I went ahead and got the S24 Ultra and man oh man! It is a fantastic phone! I somehow felt that iOS/iPad OS has something lacking. Although I use my MBP and iPad exclusively for work, that's not the case with a phone. The icing on cake is the 7 years updates. That will increase the product upgrade cycle for many.

    • @KyleErickson
      @KyleErickson  3 месяца назад +3

It'll be a little different for everyone. I actually have used exclusively Android up to the OnePlus 7 and then went over to Apple, so switching everything over again was somewhat familiar, although there are some paint points. I miss Universal Clipboard, and how easily I could do things like copy and paste images, just minor convenience things, but have RCS standard for messaging is nice. Also coming from the 6.1" pro to the ultra, the extra battery life is so much better.
There are things I still have my iPhone on for like health tracking, and recording video (some of the clips shot in this video were with the 15 Pro), so there are definitely things I can't full get away from, but it's pretty much what you'd expect - some wins, some losses. Both platforms have their strengths.

There's a devastating factory level failure in the screen for this phone. It was not factory calibrated for OLED mura prevention, causing units to have a varying degree of grainy-ness, especially visible in gray tones and low brightness values. There's also color banding issues. I say all of this with a very heavy heart, writing it on my new S24 Ultra.
Do not buy this phone, unless you can first inspect the unit you want to buy in the store. Even then, unless Samsung changes their factory process, the core issue won't change, only vary in the degree it shows. The rest of the phone is magnificent, which makes this all that much harder to type.

I went back to samsung when i heard flat display, but was expecting more than just that as an improvement. They should take more advice from the users. And remove stuff like the stylus in exchange for a better display as an optional model for ppl who dont depend on the stylus and are more into watching movies without knotches in their screen.

With RCS u can send clear videos to other android people. If I can do it so can you. U can send video link to apple peeps in the mean time. It’s a fun phone. Hands down. iPhone is BORINGGG and iMessage is what kept me all the years!

I noticed when I lost connection with RUclips at places my old phone had no connection issue. Could not find any problem using the diagnostic function in the phone. Over-the-air diagnostics by Samsung also could not find any issue. Sent to Samsung Centre, was told those two parts needed to be changed. But because it was foreign set (Hong Kong), the motherboard wasn't compatible with the 2 parts, so had to change the motherboard too! 😳🤕 The motherboard costs nearly half the phone!!! 😱 So I sent it to Hong Kong through a relative, to save on the motherboard. Samsung HK refused to have anything to do with it because they said the parts were only available in Shenzhen, China! WTF!🤬 So much for warranty and service! Now I'm waiting for my relative to bring it to Shenzhen! Not sure what surprises await! One thing for sure, this S22 Ultra will be my first and last Samsung phone for me! Bought it only because of its 10x optical zoom. It's going to be an overpriced phone camera if it's not worth repairing.😂 I'll stick to tried, tested and trusted Xiaomi!

I opted for the Plus, the Ultra is gorgeous but just too pricey, and big for my small hands. I miss the camera but the Plus is acceptable, I'm only point and shoot.
I actually had no plans to uograde from my S22, but, very weirdly, it suddenly started getting very hot and losing massive anounts of battery in a short time. Seeing I haven't sorted my 12 000 photos yet, and I could trade my hubby's phone in and get a very good deal with a watch too, it was an unintended upgrade.
Strangely, my S22 Plus started behaving totally normally after the upgrade, if I hadn't had others check how hot it was, i would have thought I was imagining things... is it possible....or am I in conspiracy theory territory now🤔🤔

I don't really care who has the best camera or is the fastest phone in benchmarks. Every flagship smartphone takes super pictures and video's and is blazing fast. 97% of all smartphone users don't even see the differences.
I'm a SMARTPHONE user so I want the best screen (dpi/brightness/anti-glare), best battery, best/most usablility and productivity options, best gaming- and multi-media experience, best personalization options and best innovation.
I want DEX, KNOX, S-PEN, call recording, multi-tasking, multi-window, fingerprint scanner, best screen, widgets, themes, integration with windows, the biggest eco-system (Samsung SmartThings), fast charging, fast wireless charging and I want AI.
On all these aspects the S24 Ultra is destroying the iphone 15 PM big time. So why keep people buying these antiquated, restricted and very very limited iphones?
