60103 Flying Scotsman Makes An Unexpected Appearance!

In this short video, we see the world famous 60103 Flying Scotsman making an unexpected appearance through Derbyshire today heading from York NRM to Toton TMD for tyre turning 20th May 2024.
When I woke up this morning I decided to have a quick look on Railcam to see if anything of interest was coming through my local station and low and behold I saw a WCR operated move from York NRM to Toton TMD with the number 60103 attached to it which meant only one thing... the one and only Flying Scotsman was coming through so a quick preparation to get things planned and batteries charged for this unexpected appearance.
Make of what you will of the title of this video but I'm sure a lot of people were not expecting to see the only A3 Pacific in preservation today.
We see Scotsman passing through Slitting Mill, near Staveley where she is seen slightly powering southbound in the lovely spring scenery. Not to mention just beforehand the sighting of Colas Rail Class 56 56113 making it's way from Sinfin to Grangemouth making the rare opportunity to see two heritage locos passing within seconds of each other!
Overall I don't think I'll have many mornings where I wake up with nothing to do during the day only to have Flying Scotsman coming through and how nice it was to see her too given it's still undecided of who will be her custodian for mainline operations.

I was changing at Preston a few years ago, had a hour to kill and wandered down to the end of the platform where a group of men were standing with cameras. ''What's coming through?'' I enquired. One said: ''Flying Scotsman''.
About 25 minutes later there was that announcement about the next train not stopping. Simultaneously about 20 guys in suits and hi-viz emerged from the offices upstairs and very quietly, Scotsman arrived, light engine, tender first and disappeared up the line. The suits returned to their meeting and the railway returned to normal.
I wandered through to the next platform where mothers tended their children and travellers watched their phones. None of them had any idea what they'd just missed. 😀
