3d Printed Baby Yoda from The Mandalorian (Part 1) - Free Files

- Baby Yoda is everything! Just accept it! Today we get started on 3d printing Baby Yoda from The Mandalorian on Disney+. The fantastic part of this is that the files are available for you to download from an amazing digital artist and all around good guy; Sean Fields of Project 842! So before you get to printing, painting, and assembling your Yodaling, here's what to do.
It's very simple; if you download the files for free, here's what you do: take the money that you would've used to pay for the files and go spread some joy to kids in need this holiday season; buy a gift for a toy drive, take a card from a giving tree and purchase those things, or do whatever will benefit kids in need. After you've done that take a photo of what you've purchased and tag on social media with #toydrive842
That's it!

Awesome. I'm doing one for the wife. She fell in love with this little guy.
Awesome! Be sure to share photos on social media with the #toydrive842 tag! I'm sure she'll be thrilled!
@@9142PropsandArmory will do for sure. I'm trying what you said about the ears using the clear filament. Hopefully it'll come out good.
@@starwarsmikecustoms3366 Looking forward to seeing how this little army comes together.
Looking to buy a 3d printer and I noticed you used two different printers. Was there a reason? Could the items all be printed on one if needed?
This was my question, too.
Everything can, it's just being printed on 2 to get done faster

Looks nice!
Forget Elf on the shelf this year, This year it’s Yoda on the Sofa!
That will work for me! Elf on the shelf is pretty high maintenance anyways!
good job men ! maybe hear so big but thx you for share ;)
Happy to share Project 842's awesome files. Thanks for watching! Have fun!
Hi Everyone,
It was a long series of prints! I'm thrilled to report all are complete. For Monoprice owners, the ear was a little long to print standing up, I did a little "tilt" to it to get it to work. I had to print the legs with 30% fill to keep them working. The other pieces worked fine. Thanks for posting the STL's. My son-in-law is the REAL fan. He's already gathered and donated a ton of toy's and dropped them at "Toy's for Tot's".
Thank you! Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays.
Jim
That is awesome Jim! I'm so happy to hear about the donation that you've made and the progress you're making! My first printer was a Monoprice Maker Select i3 v2 and it's still going strong after 4 years and thousands of hours. Thanks for sharing your settings as well. That's very helpful.
That is the most awesome thing I've seen today!
Great! Hope that you jump in and make one for yourself.
@@9142PropsandArmory I need one to sit on top of my CSR - R2 Unit ;-) I think I'm going to try to animatronic the Chjild, a wire up through one of my pie panels. I have 5 and 12V in the dome and spare servo controller pins ;-) I just finished it and brought it into work and someone put up a "No Droids" sign from the Mandalorian series as a joke. flic.kr/p/2ipXAAD Coming in with The child hanging off the dome would be priceless. Amazing what you can do with 3D printing these days. Thanks for doing a video on that!
@@Zartimus that's awesome! Sounds like a great project. Need to get going again on my R2....I'm doing a fully printed one. Got a good jump on it. Just need to keep pushing forward. There's a few videos on the channel on that too if you'd like to take a look. Share some pics of your Baby Yoda when you get going on it.
@@9142PropsandArmory I will ;-) I can see him hanging onto the dome now as it spins ;-) 75% eh? I'll do the same looks to be a good size.
Ears are way too long, otherwise this is really cool.
Yeah, they aren't pushed in to the head all of the way yet, so that will bring it more in line with what it should be. Good catch!
I for one can't wait to see the finished product. I hope the overall size is correct. I want to get my own puppet and have it fully functional with facial features, eye blinks, the works! I am thinking it will have to take silicone over an animitronic head. If anyone knows how to make those, please feature it!
The size is hard to nail down. Sean modeled this to be about 18" tall. I went with 75% scale for speed if printing and to keep parts small enough to resin print as well. Sounds like an ambitious and awesome project! Have fun!
Look up Nileim Mechatronics here.
I'm looking into his eye mechs.
Can't print them at the moment; finishing off an R2!
As for the ear wiggle, linking servos to silicone skin, etc. That's a huge subject I'm still trying to learn myself.
@@9142PropsandArmory I printed the head at 100%, I think 75% looks just a bit better, missed that when I first watched your video. Took a day to print the head at 100% would have taken 8 hours for 75, I feel committed to 100% to go back now though. Awesome channel by the way!
@@bordonerickson5695 Thank you very much. Yeah, I should've been a little more clear on the rescaling I did. I think I cut out a section of the video where I referenced that again in the video. It's such a fun build for sure. I should have the last part up on Sunday. Got tons of commissioned stuff to finish up first though.
@@animetronics2804 lots to learn for sure. But you'll pick up a ton of useful info by the time your R2 is done.
Just picked up your videos etc through matter hackers, great work sir! Following along :)
Awesome! Great people over there! They helped out immensely with the Magic Wheelchair project I helped with. They really stepped up and contributed. Make sure to get in on some Blue Friday deals today! Thanks for checking this out
Such a beautiful gesture to give his creation away ♥
That it is! Sean is a very generous guy!
Hey, thanks for the awesome vids. I do have a question though, were you able to print all of those without supports?
Almost everything did not need supports. I used a little bit to support the pins on the leg joints though. You'll want that part to be nice an clean for assembly.
Awesome! Did you print at 100%?
Hey Trey! Printed mine at 70%.
@@9142PropsandArmory Perfect! Thanks for the feedback! SUBSCRIBED!
@@9142PropsandArmory Awesome! Thanks! What software do you recommend for 3d printing? Im looking to get the CR10s!
I am crying, thank you for doing this! I can't waid to make my own baby yoda!
Glad that you're excited! Sean from Project 842 is the man! I'm merely a dealer here. Ha ha
Can you post your settings for you cr10 that you used to print without supports? Please
What slicer are you using?

@@BradTN7 FDM printed parts were .24, 3 shells, 15% infill.
@@BradTN7 I don't think you'll need to. The head is pretty darn solid.
This is awesome! Thank you.
